GMC - Sierra :: 2006 - Electric Auxiliary Fan Comes On Immediately After Start Up

Dec 29, 2014

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra with 90,000 miles and a 5.3 engine. Never any issues but I've noticed that when I start the truck up the electric auxiliary fan comes on immediately. This is when the truck is cold and the fan should not be needed. Never had any issues with it overheating or anything. Is this just a sensor gone out or something or is it normal? If it is a sensor which one is it and where would it be located?

Sierra :: Brake Lights Come On Then Immediately Go Out

The brake lights on my 97 GMC Sierra are not working right. When you apply the brakes the lights come on when you first press the pedal but then they immediately go out. I'm thinking brake pedal switch. Any other possibilities I should look at?

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2006 - Shut Off Immediately Now Won't Start?

My 2006 6.0 shut off immediatEly after starting this morning and never started back up. I have a scan Guage 2 hooked up. I'm showing no ficm voltage and no sync even when cranking. I physically checked the ficm voltage with a dvm at the screw to the far right on the ficm, and I have 48 volts. Why do I have 48 volts at the ficm, but 0 volts showing on my scan guage? And no sync when cranking?

I'm looking to install an auxiliary port into my 2006 Passat 3.6L 4motion and I was wondering what plug in converter would be best to get, what other cables I would need, and where I can buy a flush 3.5mm aux cord for installing in a blank plastic piece next to the gear lever. I'm not looking to buy a converter that charges an iPod.

Sierra :: 2000 5.3 Sierra Suddenly Overheated In Cold Weather Then Fine

A friend of mine has had this 2000 Sierra since new. It has just over 100K and never had any cooling issues before. Last week when it was about 10 below zero she drove it home and it overheated and pumped a couple quarts of antifreeze overboard.

She refilled it the next day and it was fine but got it looked at by a local independent mechanic. I had told her that it was likely a sticky thermostat and it ought to be changed out anyways due to its age. The mechanic thought I was wrong and that she had driven it off to quickly in the super cold weather.

Sierra :: 2006 GMC High Speed Vibration?

2006 GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab 4x4. Bought it with a 3 inch body lift. 2 years ago I put on a 3 inch suspension lift (blocks in the rear and torsion keys in front). Tires were getting worn out and truck had a hop to it, so brand new tires (33's) 4,000 miles ago.

Since putting on new tires I have replaced:

-both front rotors (they were warped)
-front brake pads
-pitman arm
-idler arm

Still have the hop. Cant feel it in the steering wheel and very little in the seat. Mostly in the floor boards. Hop starts at 50 mph and stops at 70 mph.

Front end is stiff since putting on new torsion keys in front.

Have had new tires rotated once and balanced twice with no change.

I know my rear shocks are shot and my front shocks are almost done.

GMC - Sierra :: 2006 - Headlights Fluctuating When Not Hitting Gas?

I have a 2006 sierra 5.3. This has happen twice to me now. This morning it was probably around -5 degrees out started my truck with remote start and it started fine. After running for 15 mins I got in it to go to work. When went to pull out of the driveway I noticed when hitting the gas my headlights getting brighter and then dimmer when not hitting the gas. When I looked at voltmeter gauge and when not pressing the accelerator it was about 12. When hitting accelerator it would go up to 14. It did this for about 15 mins or so stopping and going.

On the way home today it didn't fluctuate. When I got home I tested the alternator with volt meter. It was reading 15.3 volts. From what I read on the internet it says the fluctuation is normal and so is the 15.3 volts. I read 2005 trucks and up have regulated voltage control. Even talks about the gauge fluctuating in the owners manual. I had the battery and alternator tested both tested good. Alternator does have a little noise in it when spinning the pulley by hand. I'm just not convinced that 15.3 volts is normal. The battery isn't original it had been replaced by the previous owner.? Is my alternator possibly going out.

Ford Audio/Video System :: 2006 F350 - Auxiliary Input / Screen Reads No AUX Audio

On my '06 XL F350 I want to know if and how I can hook up an auxiliary input. It has the AUX button ,but it doesn't have any aux audio port in the dash anywhere like some of the nicer F-series have. When I push the AUX button, the screen reads "NO AUX AUDIO". Is there an adapter I can buy to plug in the back so I can actually have and auxiliary input?

GMC - Sierra :: 2001 - Won't Start When The Engine Is Hot

I have a 2001 GMC Sierra with a starting problem: When you've driven it long enough for the engine to reach about 210 degrees, if you stop the truck it won't start back up until the engine has cooled down to about 200. It only does this when it's over 80 degrees outside, though.

GMC - Sierra :: Cranks But Not Start - No Fuel

95 GMC Sierra 1500. My truck cranks, but it won't start. If I push on the gas it delivers fuel and kind of starts, but it dies out immediately. I considered it to be a fuel pump issue at first, but I had my fuel pump replaced about a year ago so I do not think that is the problem, but I am not sure what else it could be. I am looking for some troubleshooting steps so I can narrow down the issue and get my hands dirty working on my truck.

Gmc - Sierra :: At Warm Hard Start?

I recenty replaced the upper intake manifold gasket on my gmc sierra 1500 350 motor. In the process I did plugs and wires and power steering pump. I went through everything and cleaned it to perfection and put it together. It started like a dream and took it for a test burn out in the country. About 15 miles down the road I shut it down and went through all the fluids and upon starting I noticed it was really hard starting. Kinda like it had alot of compression. I just replaced the battery 2 month ago with the best Interstate battery they had and it still checks out good.

Every time I went to start it cold it started normal but when warm it had the same hard starting issue. Well a week later I stopped at the store before work and it did the same but then just rested to a stop and now the starter just clicks every time I turn the key. I can turn the motor over by hand with a wrench and all battery connection are good. I just put a new starter in today thinking that may have been a fluke of a deal but nothing still. I did see when I first tried the new starter that the pulley on the alternator was trying to spin over ever so slowly tell it quit again.

Sierra :: 2006 GMC Z71 - Noise Starts At About 50-55 And Keeps Getting Louder With Speed

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra z71 has 159,000 miles on it. I've already changed the front hub bearings and the tires are brand new. Brakes are in good shape as well. I also had someone check the front differential bearings too. Said the front diff was good. The noise starts at about 50-55 and keeps getting louder with speed. The noise is similar to a hub bearing noise. When you let off the throttle the noise is more pronounced then when on the throttle. I'm thinking it's te cv axles. The cv boots don't have any tears in them and I have no clicking noise. But I've also heard that cv axles can make this noise. Also the noise seems to change when I hit bumps. that's also why I'm thinking cv axles. Because cv axles are the only thing that move with the suspension and also rotate.

I have a 350 throttle body injection 3/4 ton 87 Sierra with 107K miles that runs great but when I shut it off it won't start again! Starts right up when it's cold but I have to wait about 2 hours before it will start again once its been started. Turns over just fine. I recently replaced the coil but that didn't do the trick. Is there some kind of sensor or switch that could be heating up?

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Temporary Loss Of All Electric In Car

For the past few weeks I have had a bizarre issue with my 2010 Sonata GLS. If you unlock all doors (press the FOB unlock button twice), get in, close the door and then turn the key and attempt to start the car, all power is lost to the the interior and with no lights, radio etc. The car is literally dead and won't start. If I open the drivers side door and then close it again, all power comes back and I can start the car. All radio stored stations are lost, the clock is reset and usually the trip odometer is reset too. Other times, if I just press the FOB unlock once to unlock just the drivers side door, the issue does not apparently seem to happen. What the issue may be?

It cant be the battery, because I think it should at least have enough juice to turn the light on.

Sierra :: 2003 - No Fuel Pressure At Cold Start

I have an 03 Sierra Half Ton when the engine is warm it runs fine but at cold start, half the time it doesn't have the fuel pressure to start, i have to turn the key a couple times to build it up. Idk if the fuel pump is weak for if it would be more the regulator. I started having this problem after i replaced the fuel pump. The fuel pressure gauge shows 50-55 lbs, but every now and then when its cold it will only jump to around 5 lbs (but this is only when the engine is cold... why?) What should i go after first? Regulator, new pump, Replace the fuel filter again?
