Ford - Windstar :: 2000 Stopped Putting Out Heat To Any Front Vents

Ford - no front heat - 2000 Windstar - actuator

My Dad's 2000 Ford Windstar van stopped putting out heat to any front vents. I was able to hear a rhythmic thumping sound when the heat control slider was placed in the hot position. I looked for info on line, and found many posts that said the actuator was probably the issue. I also went back and asked my Dad if before the thumping sound he had heard anything else, and he confirmed he had heard some gear grinding noises, which others have reported as the actuator is starting to grind and slip its internal gears. If the actuator is not working correctly, it won't hold the heater duct door in the open position, which means you can't get any hot air.

Yukon :: 2000 - Climate Control Stopped Working / Heat Or Cold Not Blow Out Of Vents

I have a 2000 yukon and the climate control stopped working. The defrost works just fine but the heater/ac stopped working nothing blows out from my vents when ac/heater setting is on. I checked all fuses and wires and everything is ok and connected. I just replaced my cd player and the next day climate control stopped working. I went back and checked the wireing of the cd player as well, everything is fine. Would i need a new climate control, or senser or is there a fuse on the heater itself.

Windstar :: 99 - No Heat Coming From Front / Fan Is Blowing And Temp Controls Function Correctly

My 99 windstar has seemed to have issues every month since it's been paid off! Isn't that how it goes....anyway,

Just recently the heat suddenly stopped working. The fan is blowing and the temp controls seem to function correctly. There is no heat coming from the front and some IS coming from the back.

What could the problem be? Blend door, actuator, motor, evaporator core?

Civic - Honda :: 2003 - No Heat Coming From Vents Unless The Car Is Over 2000 RPM

2003 Civic, ~180,000 miles. Previously had overheat problems, replaced head gasket, timing belt, water pump, thermostat and hoses (+ a few other things) No longer over heating, but there is no heat coming from the vents unless the car is over 2,000 rpm. Hoses to the heater core are both warm/hot, so flow through heater core seems to be good. Also AC has same issue no cold air unless over 2,000 rpm. Is this the control to the blend door? Are they operated by vacuum and with a leak, need higher vacuum to operate?

Ford Excursion :: 2002 - Heat Not Putting Out

2002 with 7.3 and Auto Climate Control...When the engine temp is at normal operating temperature, there is minimal heat coming out of the floor (on floor setting) and then when I turn on the rear heat there is almost no heat at all. Both fans work properly. I noticed when I turn the temp setting all the way down and then back up to 90* I can get what feels like 65-70* out of the front. Again, almost no heat on the rear. I still need to check the hoses to see what's happening at the heater core. I'm thinking it might be the controller, but not sure how the ACC plays with the rear controls.

Windstar :: V6 / 3.8L - No Air Comes Out Of Vents But Can Hear Blower Fan Noise

My 1996 Windstar, V6, 3.8L, stops blowing air from vents intermittently. When I turn AC or heat on, the vents blow air fine according to the fan speed setting. But after 10/15 minutes, the air flow decreases significantly or stops altogether, no air comes out of the vents, yet I can hear the blower fan noise as if it is working and feel heat/cool at the vents (as per the selected setting).

I have tried changing the selector switch from AC to MaxAC, dashboard vents, bottom vents defrost, or fan speeds, but nothing works; It stays the same whether the vehicle is moving or is parked. The air starts flowing normally after half hour or so, or the next day.

I replaced the HVAC Vacuum Selector Valve (behind the controls) last week with a new one made by MotorCraft and it did not make any difference.

First thing that comes to mind is vacuum leak. Given the intermittent nature of the problem, I was wondering if this really is due to a vacuum leak? Next I thought of the blend door actuator, which is a common problem with Windstars. Since it does not default to hot or cold air, could it still be a blend door actuator problem?

Windstar :: AC Switching Vents On Its Own Under Engine Load

The A/C system switches from vent to defrost mode under engine load (going uphill or overtaking another car). It is caused by a vacuum leak and as far as I've seen most of us had the same problem a loose red hose, here are some pictures of where to start looking first.

This is the hose that gets disconnected from the back passenger side of the intake manifold.

This is where that hose should be connected to.

This is the other end of the same hose, it has a check valve on it and this side is connected to the vacuum reservoir and into the firewall to the dashboard to control the A/C system.

This image is just to show the location of the vacuum reservoir, you'll have to remove the cowl in order to see it properly, if you don't you can still reach the reservoir but it will be a bit hard since you don't have much space.

Here's the vacuum reservoir and the hoses from another perspective.

Windstar :: 2004 - Mileage Not Showing / Heat Blows On Driver Side

I have a 2004 Windstar that is nor behaving well. It seems to run ok for the time i have had it. Mileage not showing, error code for cam shaft sensor (It has been replaced), passenger window works intermittently, no display on stereo, Heat blows on drivers side while the AC blows on passenger side, Electric doors work sometimes.

Like i say, it drives ok but won't pass emissions and too many erratic problems to sell it. My independent mechanic thinks its the computer and said take it to ford. Cant afford for them to waste hours shooting down individual problems if they are all related.

Ford A/C :: 1998 - When Accelerate Heat Begins To Come Out Of The Vents

I have a 98' F150 with a 5.4. When idling the A/C works fine. When I accelerate heat begins to come out of the vents. It does not put out cold air again until the motor is back to idle speed. When adjusting the temperature, I can hear the blend door motor turn but I don't hear the blend door shutting. Should I hear it shut or do I have a vacuum problem. I don't know where to begin if it is in the vacuum hoses.

Prius (Gen 2) :: 2008 - A/C Vent Stopped Putting Out Cold Air

My A/c vent at chest level and other levels just stopped putting out cold air, there is a small amount coming out of the vent on the driver side vent. I have the vent knobs set to be open.

I have tried all settings on. Just hoping this is something I can repair. This is an '08 with 120k on it, have had zero hassles for the last 36 months of ownership.

Ford A/C :: 1986 F250 - No Heat Coming Out Of Dash Vents?

I have a 86 f250 with rebuilt 302, new radiator, new hoses and heater core. I know the cold to hot selector works to open the door. now the ac works great although my heat is not working properly. I can put the defroster on with heat and the blower in the engine compartment comes on like normal. Now the problem is that we i put it on heat the blower in the cab does not blow air through any vents. I just purchased this vehicle and not really sure how everything works.

Funny thing also when the ac is on i turn the blower on low and its really high then the high is really low (its like to switch is working backwards) not sure if that has anything to do with it. Then when I was looking in the engine compartment i noticed the wiring harness has a plug going to the blower, then one plug to what looks like a heat strip of some sort, then someone took two oranges wires and wire nutted together to get the engine compartment blower to work. So now I'm wondering if I am missing something there??? Here's a pic of the engine compartment.......

Ford A/C :: 1978 F150 XLT - No Heat Coming Out Of Defrost Vents

I just picked up a 78 F150 Ranger XLT with a 351M in it this past friday. I am absolutely in LOVE with her. She is a great solid truck. One issue I am having though is that she blows hot air out the vents over the hump but nothing is coming out the top of the dash. I am guessing that i will have to take the dash off and clean out the box check the door etc. What did you do to rectify?

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: Max Heat Blowing Through Vents When Temp Set On Cold

2001 F150 5.4 4wd - AC not working but when I turn the temperature dial to the blue side and turn on the fan, super hot air comes out of the vents or wherever I direct the fan to blow (Floor, defrost, etc) I know it shouldn't blow ice cold especially since my AC doesn't work but.....shouldn't I feel a temp change coming from the vents when I move temp dial from the red area to the blue? It's max heat wherever I have it set.

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: Losing Coolant / No Heat Coming From Vents

About mid-October I noticed when it as real cold out and I had the heat running whenever I would come to a stop I noticed there is very little to no heat coming from the vents, despite the engine being warm and running at operating temps. At the time I was working for a shop and I asked one of the mechanics what the problem was. He said that it was the radiator not having enough coolant.

Turns out when we pulled the cap the coolant res, was just about bone dry. So we added in about a gallon or so of coolant with the truck running and sure enough at idle the heat was back.

Fast forward to the last couple of weeks and when I am sitting at idle again same thing happens. So somehow the engine is losing coolant. Its not ending up in the oil (no white on the dipstick) and there is not a coolant leak. As it sits there is 255,300 miles on the truck now. 1999 5.4L F150....

Ford - Mountaineer :: 2002 - No Air Flow Volume Out Of Heat / Defrost Or AC Vents

My 02 Mountaineer doesn't have any air flow volume out of the heat, defrost, or a/c vents. The temp will change from hot to cold and the air direction will also change from floor, dash, windshield, etc. The a/c recirculation door also seems to be working. The fan sounds as it is running very fast, just not putting out any volume. What should I look for?

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: A/C And Heat Not Working - No Air Coming Out Of Vents

I noticed a couple weeks ago after starting the truck and turning on the a/c that nothing was coming out of the vents. I found it odd when after driving a few miles the a/c kicked in and started blowing cold air. Today I needed to put on the defrost and same thing, nothing came out of the vents. I drove around for a while hoping it would kick in just like the a/c did but nothing. I did check the fuses and relay. When you turn the control either to heat or a/c you can hear a clicking sound under the hood. It's trying to engage but nothing is coming out of the vents.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Water In Heat / AC Vents After Rain?

Don't get much rain here in SoCal except during the winter. After the last rain I noticed that there was water in the heating/ac vent system - or at least that's where I think it was.

When I made a right hand turn some water slopped out onto my foot and gave me quite a shock for a second till I figured out what had happened.

I suspect that there must be some kind of drain tube for the vent system that's become clogged, but before I start crawling around under the truck and dash I figured I would ask here first. Any useful tip on clearing the clog?

Ford - Windstar :: 2000 - Gauges Gone Wild?

My '00 Windstar has recently begun to exhibit some curious instrument panel behavior in the form of dancing gauges. All gauges are affected simultaneously - temp, tach, speedo and fuel - quickly swinging from stop to stop in no apparent pattern. This will go on for a few seconds to a couple of minutes, then they resume normal operation. It may occur again on the same trip or not for a week or so. There are no other symptoms, no CEL, no obvious trigger or apparent after-affects, the van runs fine. The battery is fairly new and quite strong. Is this likely just a ground issue? Where would I start to look?
