My drivers window goes up and down good but the auto down does not work. I checked the fuse/relay that is in the box under the hood, drivers side and it looked okay but to be sure I swapped it with the one for the electric seats, same amp and relay and it still does not work.

View 2 RepliesJust purchased a used 2003 camry 2.0G A/T. The driver's side window slides down well when using the auto button, but gets stuck 1/4 way on the way up. Have to wait a while before holding the button to slide it up all the way. What might be wrong and how I can correct?
View 1 RepliesMy GTI has 300 miles on it, just noticed that the auto up/down function on the driver's side window switch only works sometimes. You have to push or pull hard on the switch to get it to auto open or close. I'm assuming it could just be a faulty switch?
View 9 RepliesSo after 6 1/2 years, my original Panasonic battery died today morning. I used jump start to get to work and used the same method to take the car to Sears to replace with Diehard Platinum.
While driving back, after the battery replacement, I noticed that I couldn't use auto power window roll up or down on driver side (manual roll up/down worked). Other three windows won't even work. I checked the windows lock button and it wasn't in lock position.
I turned the ignition power off and turned on to ACC. Then I could able to roll driver side windows up/down in auto. However, other three windows remain nonoperational. I also noticed a small green light on the window is illuminated only for driver side.
My passenger side power window does not work from the drivers side control, but works from the passenger control. I replaced the master switch on the driver side and it still does not work. I have checked the fuses--Side, below and under the hood and have even found inline fuses below--all were good. Could the dealer have to program my new switch? I do not have child safety locks.
View 2 RepliesMy 1994 Thunderbird driver side electric window suddenly will not work. Passenger side works normal. Door lock, electric rear view mirror, and interior lite on bottom of driver side all work. Checked fuse panel and all is normal. Removed black triangle shaped panel where switches for window and door lock and door handle stick through and there are no broken or pulled off wires from the switch. The driver side switch "clicks" when pushed and the voltage guage on the dash "jumps" but motor does not respond on driver side only.
I removed and lifted off the large inside door panel, peeled back the plastic waterproof material and have the door panel balanced on a stool from below. I want to check for loose/or disconnect wires into the motor but at this point the diagram of where the motor should be from my old Haynes Repair Manual for 1989-1997 Ford Thunderbird-Mercury-Cougar does not match what I have. The motor seems to be not accessible so I can check the wiring.
I realize that the problem could be in the switch even though it "clicks" and sounds normal but the connections into the motor or the motor itself could be the culprit in my thinking. I just can't see at the moment how to check that motor. The car has 164,000 miles and obviously that door has opened and closed thousands of time jarring the components.
I just bought myself a MKIV .:R and it is outstanding. Im slowly getting it up to my spec. The driver side window switch doesn't like to work to roll the left window down. The double down feature works great but not the momentary part of it. All I can find are switches for the 4 door.

I checked the fuse, its fine. I am wondering where the electrical current could be stopped. Also, where could I get a schematic of the window pins so I can check the voltages and what each pin does?
So my battery had died and just got a new one. But i noticed that my automatic up/down on the drivers side window doesn't work, I have to keep pressing the button for it to go up or down.... the other 3 windows are working perfectly. Is there a way to fix this?
View 3 RepliesCar was broken in last night. Went to a near by auto glass shop to get the glass replaced. After the glass replacement, the window will lower half way after it reached the top using the auto up function (pull up and release). It stays up if you hold the switch up. Why that is? Seems to me the jam protection is activated, according to the manual.
View 2 RepliesI am sure this is pure coincidence but we had to have a new battery put in my wife's '09 Avalon. Later in the day we noticed that the front window switch for the passenger window on the drivers side, does not work. The one on the passenger door works fine so it's not the motor. How difficult are these to replace? BTW, the window lock switch is NOT on.
View 13 RepliesI have a 2005 Bonneville. Just recently the doors will lock and unlock on their own. The controls(windows/mirror) and lock on the drivers side works intermittently. The window and locks on the passenger side work correctly. At least I haven't found a time they don't work. Coincidentally, things started acting up after the drivers side widow was left open and a little rain came in. I have removed the mirror/window control panel from the drivers side, unplugged the connector, cleaned and put electrical grease on the contacts.. I did the same thing with another connector I could reach inside the door panel.

Drivers switch is flashing , if I push the switch down wether all the way or half way window works manually . When I pull on the switch half way up window doesn't work, pull all the way up it works manually. No auto window at all .

I can hear the relay cycling. when I put a meter on the power connector, I get voltage applied for the "up" condition, no voltage for the "down" function.
Sounds like a bad relay to me. What say the wizards? Where is the relay located?

I have a 1999 f250 crew cab. About 6 months ago my drivers side window quit working in the up position(lucky me) and last week I got around to fixing it . I just ordered a new window motor instead of the whole regulator and installed it and it worked perfect for 4 days and today it suddenly quit again. What would cause a window motor to go out again so quick? Everything else seems to be fine and there is power to it so I'm assuming it's the motor.
View 2 Replies2001 Ranger 4 liter 4 door My driver side window goes up and the electric motor does not stop running when the window reaches its normal upper position. Instead it goes bang-bang-bang until I take my finger off of the switch. I'm guessing there is a limit switch that should disconnect the motor but has failed. The bang-bang (again I'm guessing) probably is some sort of a spring loaded torque limiter to protect the motor. Other than that, the window goes up & down as it normally should. I have no problem digging into the door, except with the window, door lock and outside mirror switches, I don't have a clue regarding how to get the inside door panel off. I know to disconnect the battery 1st.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2012 Lariat fairly well loaded out. However, the so called "auto" window button on the drivers door works auto in down only. Just curious if something is wrong with mine because it is will not do auto for raising the window. One would think that on a truck the auto would work both ways. I know on my Expedition it works both ways. Just wondering if mine was faulty before I go to the dealer.
