View 11 RepliesComputer also said to replace Camshaft position sensor. The plug is getting spark and appears to be getting fuel. the plug was moist not dry. How ever i did notice the egr pipe is completely broken free from the header. Which I am replacing. Since it is reading lean on bank 2 could this alone cause more fuel to be dump in the cylinder 2 cause the plug to be too wet to fire? if not what might the possible problem be? 2000 Ford Explorer 4.0L ...
View 7 RepliesRear lift gate refuses to stay up in cooler weather, cylinders must have leaked down.
View 14 RepliesSo the flexpipe on my exhaust is cracked and completely broken, so my passat sounds like a Mack truck. I've been looking into getting it fixed and I've been told i need to buy an entire new down pipe. Should i attempt to just get it fixed or buy a new down pipe.
View 4 RepliesI have a 5-speed and my center shifter console is completely broken. I went to the junk yard and didn't find any manuals but plenty of autos. Is an auto console the same? It looks like the only difference is the boot/selector area.
View 2 Replies6.0 .... Have a code Po3o4 Cyl 4 misfire. I pulled the valve cover to remove the injector and found the right half of the rocker mount and rocker arm laying in the head. What may have happened?
View 5 RepliesMy automatic shift selector was extremely loose. Wasn't the two bolts up behind the dash. Turns out that there is a metal cylinder with a cutaway that seems to have fallen out of the selector housing. One of the edges of this cylinder broke off as you can see in this pic:
What is this piece called and can I get a replacement at autozone/pepboys/ect?
So the story goes like this, my teacher was trying to scrap a truck that he had sitting on his farm so i got it. I've been using it for a DD for the past year and a half and not I'm starting to do rust repair starting with rocker panels. But, what i was really wondering is how involved would it be to replace the radiator core support? Main reason being last time i was under the hood replacing the pass side valve cover gasket i hit it and knocked a hole right through it so yeah I'm thinking is about time to replace it.
View 1 RepliesI have a '98 F150 front 60/40 seat going into a '77 shortbox F100. I've searched and found a lot of info on repairing a lumbar support but nobody seems to mention how to get the stupid off. I don't want to break anything but I can't see any screws or clips. Does it just pull off with force?
View 1 RepliesI'm wondering what the safe limit is for the amount of weight the tail gate can suppport ?
I need to get some 4x8 sheets of dry-wall and instead of leaving the tail gate down i'd rather have it up and support the pieces, but at 50-60 pounds a sheet I'm somewhat concerned about how many sheets the tail gate can support without causing issues.
I recently bought an 05 F250 CC SB. One or more of the bed support rails is rusted and the front one (right behind the cab) is bad enough that I can move the bed up and down with my hand. I've read several threads on a few forums about replacing them and I'm wanting to do it myself.
One other thread I read on this forum (link) gives a pretty straightforward outline of how he successfully did it and even gives dimensions for the rails he made. I'm thinking of doing pretty much the same thing, but he didn't mention the gauge/thickness of metal that he used. I read about the Dorman replacement kit, but they don't mention gauge either.
I am fixing the front of my 2000 Ranger? I need to replace everything from the radiator support fwd. I need to know how to get the radiator support out.
View 2 RepliesJust started to get a vibration in the last couple days. When giving it fuel there is no problem. when i let off the fuel it begins to have a slight vibration as it slows. even does it if i pop it into neutral. took it for a ride last night when i noticed it. wife sayed been going on for a few days. after just a 6 mile ride i crawled under and tried to check the joint but when i stopped i was not on level ground so have tension on the shaft but did notice that the rear joint was warm after just that short of a drive. not hot just warm compared to the other 2. it is a 2004 F250 SD 6.0DSL 4X4
View 2 RepliesI can move the lumbar support up or down, but I can't deflate it & it's quite the pain. First off, is it an air bladder or a cable? I could really care less if it ever works again as long as I could get it to relax/deflate, is there a cheap/easy way to do it?
View 5 RepliesI need to change the all support mount motor of my Camry 2003 v2.4l. but I don't know where find the best model or manufacturer.
View 2 RepliesSo I love the SEL on short trips, but I just took my new SEL on a 4-5 hour road trip, and my lower back was killing me an hour in each way, and I'm so surprised. Adjust the lower back support so that it wasn't giving any support seemed to work a little. I'm wondering if it's not the seat but rather the big wheel small tire on the SEL that's doing it? My beatup car was more comfortable on long trips!
View 16 RepliesI have a 2010 RX 350 and it seems like my support bars in the rear lift gate do not support the gate as it used to be. i have to push the gate up each time I open the gate in order for it to go up all the way. My motor is still working fine. How to change the support bars in the RX? I think those support bars are hydraulic.
View 11 RepliesI just picked up a 2011 Golf TDI a week ago and so far, I love it! I have about 600 miles on it now and I have noticed that the driver's side lumbar support is very stiff to turn compared to the passenger side. It is also making a creaking noise when it is adjusted and I can feel the seat compress slightly when I put pressure on it (say, when I shift gears or move positions) and it also makes noise when doing so.
Just wondering if this is a common problem, if there is an easy fix, or should the dealer take care of it. My thoughts right now are to take it right back to the dealer and let them deal with it.
So I did a cylinder contribution test and a buzz test today. It buzzed evenly on all cylinders. Then when I did the cylinder contribution test I got these codes,
P0269 cylinder 4 contribution balance
P0284 cylinder 8 contribution balance
It has been running a little rough lately but not smoking. Seems to be chattering more than it was too. I did the FRx, HPx, CVDs and banjo bolt mods about 500 miles ago and it was a lot quieter and ran better. Just recently started running rough and a little louder. Could these injectors be bad? I did new injector O-rings about 800 miles ago. I ran the test with the engine cold and with it warmed up and got the codes both times. It seems to have a little bit of throttle flutter when holding it about half throttle while driving.
As far as I know the injectors haven't been replaced and they have 186K miles on them.

View 4 RepliesI ran into an issue on my rebuild. I have a 1978 F-150 Ranger 302 V8 2WD Automatic. (Just to makes things easier) back to the point. I had the reverse go out completely on the tranny, and have not had any luck what so ever finding another I could buy.
