Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Tires Rubbing After Installing Leveling Kit
Apr 9, 2016
I had my leveling kit installed today. Bilstein 2" leveling coils, adjustable track bar, 4" rear blocks, and shocks front and rear.
I have 295/70/18 tires on stock wheels that didn't rub anywhere before. Now at full lock to the left the drivers side tire just barely rubs on the radius arm. How is that possible? I was planning on getting 35s soon when these wear out but it seems like those would rub even worse.

I got an 03 f250 with a 10 inch lift on 40x14.50 tires on 20x10 fuel hostage wheels. They rub my springs pretty bad when trying to make even the slightest kind of tight turn and the sound they make when they rub is even worse than them actually rubbing. My question is should i stay with this tire and wheel setup and try to get some 6061 billet aluminum 2 inch spacers? (I'm not sure about going that route though because of what i heard about spacers) or go down to some 38s with a 20x14 wheel that hopefully would push the tire away from the hub like spacers would do. I'm leaning more towards going to 38s because of the rubbing and also because I feel they might look better on the 10 inch lift rather than the 40s but dont know whats the best thing to do.

I have a 99 v8 with a 8" lift. I just added a front leveling (mini spring pack) to replace the lifting block (death trap). Anyways after I installed the 2" spring pack and removed the 1.5" block the truck will not go into 4wd. Did I do something wrong? I did not unhook anything. I just unbolted the spring and shocks, lowered the axle down, then installed the new springs. By the way it has the warren aftermarket manual hubs (lock or free). I can hear the t-case engaging and the light says its in 4wd.

2015 F350, Want to do a leveling kit. Are the spacers good enough or should I do the track bar relocation too?

I recently purchased a 2002 F250 Regular cab long bed 2wd. I'm tired of the front end sagging so low, so I've been looking into a leveling kit. I was wondering whether I should go with 2" or 1.5" for the kit. I tow about 2000 lbs. 3-4 days a week and do not want the truck to look like it is squatting too badly. However, I really would like it too look more level.

Put in 2.5" leveling blocks under front coil springs. Now I hear a clunk nearly every time I turn to the right. Why this might be?

I have a 1999 f-250 sd 4x4 that had a 5.4L auto trans and a switch operated transfer case. Im installing a 1998 12v Cummins, nv4500 5 speed, and dodge manual shift transfer case. My father and I have made engine mounts, modified trans cross member, and installed a 1/2 " dip tube into fuel tank an used 1/2" fuel line to connect to factory Cummins fuel line. We are now to the worst part now "WIRING". I still have the OEM gasser 5.4 wiring harness. I bought bushings to install ford coolant temp probe and ford oil pressured sensor. I got my harmonic balancer machined with 2 more notches for ford cam/crank sensor pickups but I'm just confused after reading a few different postings about tach. I guess just need a run down on the 12v wiring to the 5.4 pcm. I would like all factory dash gauges to work right, cruise control, and A/C to work. My 12v still has dodge alt and dodge a/c compressor. I ve bought a bunch of parts so after you post to this ill let you know if I have it or not. Things like ford clutch and brake pedal sets, ford OEM manual transfer case shifter setup, bushings for ford sensors to Cummins, and other things I've forgot about.

I am going to be installing puddle lights to light up my step bars and I am looking to find out which wire to tie into? I was going to tie into the dome light circuit (blk/blue) so they would come on with keyless entry door unlock, but my dome light won't come on. So I either have to figure that out or go to plan B and find a difference source. Adding lights down there and found another way to power these? I don't know if extended cabs ever had the option for lighted running boards, maybe there is a dedicated wire somewhere? I don't want them on all the time, only when the truck is unlocked to light the step.

The V10 in my service truck took the long slow ride. I located and am in the middle of replacing said engine. My question is, how difficult would it be to install a second alternator in this truck, considering I have it torn down for replacement?
It a 2000 F350 with a V10. I'm looking for more power as I have mounted on the Knaphiede service body a IMT 1015 crane, 3200 lb capacity. I would like to install a power inverter to be able to run an air compressor in the field.
Am I looking for a new harness? Etc?

I drive a 2014 F350 Platinum SRW. No matter how fast i go, there is always a rubbing noise & i can hear it right outside my front window. Its annoying & loud. The mechanics told me it was my dust seal on my front axle but they changed it & its making the same noise even worse than before.

This is my dads f250 build date of 9/03. I know these wheels are not the factory xl wheels. I also think they changed something with the wheel back spacing somewhere around this time. He is running 285/70/17 bfgs and is rubbing the leaf springs pretty good. He ran this same size on his previous 02 model with no rubbing. Can he get away with 1/4 spacers? What years these wheels are from? And the backspacing differences, if any. His 02 had the chrome large bullet hole style wheels.

I bought a nice 03 F250 V10 with apx 170k on Friday... After I got home (it was about a 4hr drive) I went to back up into the driveway and heard a loud (deep) rub noise.. Sounds like metal on metal... After a few feet or at a faster pace it goes away. I've tried seeing if it changed or went away depending on how the wheels were turned but it did not make a difference. At first I thought it was coming from the hub but now I'm thinking it could be driveshaft related..

I have a 2011 6.7L F-250 with the stock 17" rims and need new tires. Would 285/75/17's will fit without modification or rubbing?
The stock tires were 265/70/17 and were too small. I have 285/65/18's on there now without rubbing, but it is close. Going back to the 17" rim with a taller tire makes me a little nervous, as I can't check them before purchasing.
I do not want to have any rubbing or have to do any modifications (lift, spacers, etc...). I would like to keep the vehicle stock.

I just purchased a donor wheel from ebay... it was the right price, and I'll turn around and sell the shell and the switches when I pull the wires out.
I'm looking forward to the wheel getting here. I expect to be able to swap the wiring harness inside the wheel and then be able to add the redundant audio control switches. This should leave me with the impossible setup of having a black vinyl wheel with cruise and audio controls.

I just picked up a 2001 Ford F350 4x4 7.3 SRW last week. I've been slowly going through the truck replacing everything. One thing I've always liked on trucks is the cab clearance lights, which this one doesn't have (it's a base XLT with no options).
So I looked on Amazon and ended up ordering this....
But then I realized that the harness isn't included, and I can't find it for sale anywhere. I searched the Ford parts site but can't seem to find it.
I'm thinking about returning those lights and getting this set: [URL] .... But I'm not 100% sure that the harness that's included will fit my truck, it only says Ford.

When installing front lift shackles, do you place jack stands under the axle, or the frame? I can't really find an answer. I assumed the axle, but i saw a thread and from what i could see it looked like it was supported at the frame and the axle was hanging free in the air. Just want to be sure before i start unbolting the stock shackles tomorrow and kill myself.
