So on my way to work this morning taking off from a light on a smooth blacktop my message center lit up with "tire pressure sensor fault". is there any way to tell which sensor it is without a scan tool?
View 11 RepliesWe are in Montreal and are getting a "TBC Fault" message from the tow command brake controller. The owners manual is a little fuzzy about it...says may experience degradation of braking. The message displays each time I start the truck and clears if I hit the reset. I get a good connection if I hook up, and can hear the brakes activate on trailer...just have not tried to tow.
View 14 RepliesA buddy's 2012 f250 message center is not working at all. He replaced the fuse and it's still not working. The gauges work but not the high tech information center. He isn't sure if it's out of warranty because he can't see the miles. I'm not sure that's it's anywhere related but his back up sensors do not work either.
View 3 RepliesGot a 'Tire Pressure Sensor Fault' message a few times on the way back from Florida. Tire pressures were all fine. Hate that it doesn't say which monitor has the problem. Anyway... it comes on, but after a few minutes goes back off. Saw it a total of three times over the course of 1,000 miles in two days. Is this the sensor failing and requiring replacement? Or is the system itself starting to fail? Would ESP cover this?
View 6 RepliesEvery time I touch the brakes I now get a very annoying beep and an error message that says "wiring fault on trailer." I don't have a trailer hooked up so not for sure what's going on. The error message on the console I can live with but that loud beeping is driving me crazy.
If you hit the brake and keep the pedal depressed, then you only get the initial beep and then it goes away. The problem for me is I live north of Dallas so if I'm in traffic then I'm constantly hitting the brakes. I called my dealer today so I'll wait to hear what they have to say.
Found some threads on this but mostly for the 05-07 models. I am wondering if it is possible to install the upgraded message center (right above the steering column) into the dash of a 2012 F-350 XLT that has only the 2-line text message center?
View 1 RepliesI have a ford f350 2014 that had some water damage, the clockspring suffered water damage so I replaced it along with the steering column module.
The clockspring was brand new from ford, already centered, I pulled out the plastic tab during install.
Cluster has SERVICE ADVANCETRAC error and IDS is shows fault with the steering angle sensor. (see picture)
Do these new sensors have to be reset and calibrated to work, or does this FAULT message on IDS indicate a wiring problem?
99 F250 7.3 everyday worker, just recently my tranny slipped as I was taking off from a light, I thought hmm that's odd! Pulled away from the next light , it did not slip! Later in the day did it again, so I ran by the transmission shop to have a service done, to my surprise I was told service would not work, and a rebuild was going to be 3200-4k. truck has been used lightly for the last week or so, slips sometimes and not others. I still believe I need to have it serviced? can I do this myself ( I haven't a clue)....

I had replaced the TPS sensor, and after a day the engine seems to have stopped the high idle and returned to normal, and now it still has the check engine with the same error code, but the problem seems to be resolved. View 14 RepliesI need to replace a bulb (I hope) in my center clearance light and need to remove the amber lens cover. Lots of info about installing for those without but I haven't been able to find anything about removing the lens cover so that I can replace a bulb. I'm working with a 2008 F-450.
View 6 RepliesWhen opening the center console at night, it is obviously pitch dark in there. I know that I could turn on the dome light, but 1. i'm lazy and 2. that still does not offer a whole lot of light.
I want something that will come on when I open the lid, and then go off when I close it. I do not really want anything on a switch. So i'm thinking about setting something up like the glove box with the thing that pushes in and the light goes out, you all know what i'm talking about. I would not think it would be too hard to wire up.
The warning in the title has been appearing for months. Push reset and the display message goes away but the orange light stays on. No rhyme or reason. Sometimes it's gone after a restart for a day or two. Sometimes it stays on no matter how many times the truck is shut down and restarted in a day.
So I finally took it into Ford for service today because the truck is still under warranty. They ask if the tires have been replaced. Obviously they have because I've got BFG KO2s that are a size or two bigger than stock. But I explained that the tires have been on for several months and that the issued did not present itself when the truck came out of the tire shop. It didn't happen until a couple of months later.
So they tell me that their tool can't even detect that any sensors are present and that they'll break down a tire to check and see that a sensor is there. Two & a half hours later they tell me that they've ordered a body control module and cut me loose with the truck. They'll call when the part is here.
I was running tire chains on my front end and broke the wires going to the wheel (I know ,not smart) . Immediately Service AdvanceTrac, Hill Descent fault, ABS light came on. I took it in to a shop and they repaired the wires but lights are still on and won't clear. Buttons on the dash wont work either. Messed up the sensors maybe?

I was hauling a car the other day and all of a sudden all these lights and faults came on then my speedo quit working and also the odo don't calculate mileage. I changed the speed sensor at the top of the rear end and still nothing. Cruise control also don't work..
View 14 RepliesThis is the third time my TMPS light and "Low Tire Pressure" message have popped on... I have checked all (4) tires and they are still exactly where I had them inflated several weeks back when I went through this the last time. What the threshold pressure is to set the TMPS warning off? I do run about 10psi lower than the door sticker because the door sticker pressure was too much and wearing the center of my rear tires... I just find it odd and frustrating that there are no problems for a period of time, and then all of a sudden I have to go through and over-inflate the tires for a few miles for the TPMS sensors to reset and clear the light, and then drop back down to where I need them for proper tire wear and it seems OK for weeks, and now here we go again
View 2 RepliesI have a 2013 F250 and to day the TPMS light came on with a low tire warning message. A little back history, I put new tires on the truck when I bought it and they currently have 9200 miles on them. I didn't like having the tires at the 80psi the tire shop set them at so I lowered them to 62psi right away and haven't had any issues with the low pressure warning going off. Today I was backing into a parking spot and the warning light came on with a low tire message. I checked all the tires and they were right where they should be, but when I got home I added another 5psi to see what would happen and the light never went off after taking it on a 10 mile drive.
My question is, do I have a wheel sensor issue or is something messed up in the computer? I know the door sticker says 75psi front/80rear, but I've been running the tires at 62psi for 9200 miles without trouble so I can't think that the pressure is the culprit. Also, does the spare tire have a sensor in it? In the manual in one paragraph it seemed like it does, but in the next it said that the spare doesn't have one so the light will stay on to remind you to change the spare out.
So sometimes the 4x4 takes awhile to engage. Both hubs are free turning (manual to auto). Drivers side only holds a few psi of vacuum. Passengers side 20ish. All seals have been replaced. Was tested right at the nipple on drivers side front. Switching hubs from side to side didn't change anything. 2 mechanics are unsure what to do aside from take a chance at replacing the wheel bearing. It does eventually go into 4x4 but takes awhile for 4x4 to engage and light on dash to come on.
View 14 Repliesjust bought a 01 f350 v10, 40,000 miles, plowing beast, anyways when taking off truck seems sluggish, give it more gas as its fine. At idle there appears to be a skip. There are no check engine lights on, could it be the coil pack or even maybe fuel problem? Have done plenty to this beast to get it close to perfect and this motor issue is it.

View 4 RepliesI am having a bit of an issue with my new to me 2002 F350 V10 Ford, I have noticed a few times in the when taking off (first time after being parked)the truck will not shift into over drive unless I cycle the button on the shifter, after that the OD seems to work fine for the rest of the trip. Second thing I noticed is the "OD" light on the end of the shifter will come on at times (indicating the OD is off) even when the truck is in over drive, wiggling the shifter makes the light go out and the truck will not change gears. Would a new gear shifter fix this as it is a bit sloppy?
View 3 RepliesNeed better understanding of the wiring and turn signal selector than I do in my 07 6.0 HD. At first the issue started with the right front and right mirror blinking fast indicating a burnt out rear right turn signal. However after a few seconds the right rear will start working and the speed would be normal. I noticed it worse on very wet days making me think the rear tail light was letting in water and messing with the bulb. But it turns out it does it on nice days too.
These days it has evolved into the turn signal sometimes taking a few seconds before any of the right side actually starts to flash, also sometimes the indicator does not automatically deactivate after a right turn.
Giving the bottom of the steering column a calibrated tap usually always fixes the issue until the next turn.
Assuming its a bad turn signal selector switch Part number YL3T-13K359-ABJAEA but not knowing the wiring diagram I dont see how this bad switch would intermittently stop controlling the right rear turn signal. I would guess that it would tell the flasher left or right, not which lefts and which rights.
