View 14 RepliesMy passenger rear tire is wearing out on the inside edge. Thoughts as to cause and possible fix?
View 14 Repliesmy rear bumper is pretty much eaten up, too.
How difficult is this to replace?
Good source for rear bumpers? Just something stock; don't need anything wild, crazy, lighted, etc.
It's a work/hunting/fishing/hauling truck. That's all.
While trying to remain positive regarding my current truck fiasco, I was thinking about future mods. I really like the way Dodge has the exhaust cut outs in the bumper and was wondering if anything like that exists for our trucks?
View 3 RepliesOk I have a 2001 f250 SD with 7.3 and my rear bumper is dented and badly and warped. The steel frame mounting part of it is straight and fine. I found a "kit" on eBay that has just the end caps and plastic top cap for a 2008+ style trucks. Would those caps and plastic fit on my frame mounted section (what the actual name for the part that the chrome bumper actually screws into that mounts it to frame) ?
View 1 RepliesInstalling a back up camera and need to locate reverse lights on driver's side at rear bumper. What color wire is for the reverse lights on a 2003 F-350 (truck in my sig)?
View 4 RepliesMy 2003 tailgate locks by itself sometimes, has been just annoying, but today I can't unlock it. It has no electronic lock. What to do?
View 9 RepliesI have recently bought a 1997 F250 XL and i have a steering problem. It has a lift with 35" tires on it. Its not extreme but fairly mild. But everytime i turn slowly in either forward or reverse the edges of my tire seem to roll under itself or something. It seems like the outside of my tire or inside will catch the road when i make tight turns in and out of parking spots. I can see the outside edge of my tires becoming worn and starting to take small chunks out of it. And when i turn the truck will bog down and i will have to give it some gas just to get it to move. I cannot figure out the problem. I have engage and disengaged the 4 wheel drive numerous times and it still does this.
View 4 Replies07 Superduty, Oxford white. I have been looking all around NC pick a parts for a decent replacement tailgate. I know more recent years will fit, with hinge mods. Question is, what is the most recent year that will fit with hinge swaps only?? Looking for a source in SC/NC/VA for a replacement?
View 7 RepliesLooking to get rid of the step handle, I did this mod on mine and it was a direct fit...take off old liner and unbolt handle, then get a liner from a non-step tailgate and it is a direct fit:
View 7 RepliesJust replaced my recently stolen tailgate. What are the dimensions for the King Ranch emblem location for a 2015?
Also, any way to tie the tailgate into the alarm system (similar to the way the hood is). I'm guessing that you could possibly tap into the wiring under the hood and add a switch/contact at the tailgate... Also, how would this interfere with engine immobilizer, etc?
I have a 2008 F250 that the tailgate has always been real easy to open and close until the other day I could not get it to latch so i slammed it and it did latch and it worked a few days but now it won't latch at all. I can open and close the latch with the tailgate down but nothing I do will make it latch in place. I've tried spraying with PB blaster it didn't work. Not sure if its out of adjustment or what.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2014 f250 with tailgate assist, How do I remove the tailgate from the truck?
View 14 RepliesOdd thing happened. All of a sudden the factory emblem on my 2008 tailgate totally lost all of its blue and is now pure chrome. Happened just like that.
Anyway, is it screwed on and do I need to pull the panel on the tailgate to remove it? Here's the tailgate on my truck for reference.
My truck is a 99 Superduty, low miles and no rust, Id like to find a tailgate for it. There's a guy on CL selling one from a 2001 F150' claims it'll fit. I'd like to know.
View 7 RepliesLooking to sell my '12 F-250 turbo diesel Lariat. She's in great condition, and only 8000 miles. Her only sore point is some scratches and scuffs on the plastic cap on the top edge of the tailgate (see picture below). I think it's part # BC3Z-9940602-B.
How to remove this cap, preferably without breaking/scratching anything else. It looks like there are no external fasteners, so I'm guessing it's just held on with clips on its underside, or some such. It might be more obvious once I get and examine the replacement part, but just figured I'd ask.
I tried to take my tailgate off my 08 F-450 today.
Did it the same as every tailgate Ive taken off in the last 20 years...........it wouldn't come.
Is there a trick to it?
I left town and accidentally left the tailgate on my 2011 F250 SuperDuty unlocked. It was stolen.
Found a replacement, replaced the broken handle, installed new key lock, transferred to camera and plugged it in. My rear-view mirror is not receiving the signal, just a blue screen. Is there something else I need to do to complete the process of connecting the camera.
I just bought a 'new to me' 2005 F250, Crew Cab with a v10. The Carfax showed up clean but after doing some detailing on it, I realized it had been resprayed and there was a little wrinkle in the bumper. I tried using the ignition key to lock the tailgate but it didn't work, so I'm assuming its been replaced. Need to confirm that the ignition key should be the key that works the tailgate lock or is the tailgate a different key that they guy never gave me?
View 8 RepliesSo I want to add a backup camera to my truck. Ive got a headunit that will do it but I dont like how any of the aftermarket one really look and I dont like most of the locations to mount or the angle they mount at. So my question is will a tailgate handle from say a 2010 that has the factory hole for a backup camera fit in the spot of my 2001 tailgate handle? I have to replace the handle anyways since it broke this past weekend, thought Id add the camera while I was at it if I can get it to work like I want.
View 7 RepliesI've got a 2005 F250, and I found a good deal on a 2013 tailgate in town. Just wanted to make sure a 2013 tailgate will fit a 2005 before I go through with this.
