I'm having trouble with my '99 F-350 7.3L 4X4. One day, my power windows, cruise, dome light, horn, wipers, and 4 wheel drive stopped working. After checking all of the fuses, I have found no bad ones.
View 3 Replies I was driving my truck and my power windows quite working I figured it was a fuse so I wasn't to excited about it I stopped and unloaded some scrap metal and then when I started my truck back up I couldn't shift it out of park unless I unplugged the brake pedal sensor or turned the key just out of the off position then shifted to neutral then started then I could put it in gear and go so I got home and started looking checked all my fuses all good then I realize the windshield wipers are not working either and the door beeper, if you have your keys in the ignition also isn't working the horn, isn't working the lights on the window and lock switches isn't working either so I'm kinda lost now gonna barrow a relay tester in the am but I'm kinda thinking maybe the computer ?? For all this to happen at one to,e doesn't make any sense to me that's a lot to all go in one shot it makes more sense to me
No horn
No power windows
No accessory lights on the window and lock switches
No wipers
No buzzer/beeper (like when you open the door and leave the keys in the ignition
Won't shift out of park without doing it with the engine off or the brake pedal position sensor unplugged
I've gone thru with a test light and got power to the fuses for everything but still nothing
I have a 2001 F-250 SD XLT with the ABS light on, cruise control doesnt work and the horn only works with the key out. The codes for the ABS is no signal input from the left and right front wheel sensors. No problem there. Also my speedo stops or jumps when I press the horn button while driving down the road. When I quit pressing the horn button the speedo works fine. So after looking over the posts on cruise control, etc. Does the rear speed sensor have anything to do with the cruise, horn not working? All fuses are good so I am thinking the cruise control switch on the master cylinder or a short in the steering wheel column or my ignition switch. What do you all think?
View 7 RepliesI have a 2003 F250 Lariat 6.0L Crew Cab. My wipers, radio and power windows don't work. I have painstakingly checked every one of the fuses to see if there was one or more blown. All were OK.
I removed the fuse panel under the dash and have disassembled it to look for obvious clues, burnt wires/heat damage etc. but everything looks fine. Have pushed all of the fuses in to make sure they were seated properly. No joy.
I recently replaced one of the back windows in my truck and had to detach the rear dome light and I remember one of the wires sparking. Where to start diagnosing this problem?
2001 F250 SD 7.3 PSD Was doing a trailer towing road trip too and from Montana. On the way back the cruise control stopped working. Checked fuse #28. Looked fine. Attempted to do a self test on the cruise control. Holding the OFF button did nothing. Never went into diagnostic mode. Button ? A different fuse?
View 14 RepliesI have a 1999 Super Duty 5.4l Manual transmission 4x4 105,000 miles the cruise control stopped working a month ago, I didn't think much of it because I frankly don't use cruise as this vehicle is usually used to tow and I don't run cruise towing.
Long story short I went to tow my camp trailer and noticed my brake controller was not actuating the trailer brakes when I braked, the controller is showing connected and when I manually actuate the controller its working, so I knew I had a brake light issue, I checked the brakes and sure enough I have no functioning brake lights.
I bought a Motorcraft OEM brake pedal switch and replaced it to no avail,I have also checked the applicable fuses they are fine. I have a master cylinder cruise control switch to change but have my doubts this is the issue since the brake lights and cruise are non functional.
I have a 2002 f250 4x4 this snow plowing truck and going to be a pain if i cant figure this out before winter sets in. number 34 fuse (10amp) blows when replaced. cruise stopped working and can not get into gear from park after starting but turn ignition switch to 1 click forward and put into nuetral then start and go on about my business? Cruise recall completed in 06, brake lights work horn works.....

View 4 RepliesMy Dome lights don't work when you open the door. I can manually turn them on though. Also door ajar light is on. Are these issues caused by the door latch switch? Also have no fog lights I replaced the switch and bulbs. I have a 2003 F250.....
View 2 RepliesI am trying to figure out where the relay would be when i look online for the map of the relay box under the hood it says nothing of a horn relay. I don't have a key fob for the doors to unlock so I wouldn't think its tied to the computer. Should mention nothing happens when you hit the horn also fuse is fine. No power at the actual horn when i hit the steering wheel(horn)....
View 8 RepliesTroubleshooting a problem with friend's 2000 F250. His power windows aren't working and are causing problems with his door locks and interior lights. When he tries to use his drivers side power window, his power door locks quit working. If he puts the switch to raise, the interior lights flash. From what I've read, it sounds like the GEM to me, we've inspected the wiring and it all looks good. I pulled it out today and it looks good inside, no sign of water leaks on it. If it is the gem, how much do they cost and do they require programming?

View 1 RepliesBeen searching but can't find a clue. I replaced my steering gear box. Went fine, but after starting back up. My alarm goes off, my cruise or horn doesn't work and my air bag is giving a code 32.
Is there a ground wire or something I could of missed when installing the gear box?
On a 1999 Excursion with a v10. I've got a strange problem. When the truck is left overnight, the battery is dead. Doing some testing, the is a serious draw through the dome light circuit that controls the Gem and the Tail Lights. If I pull that fuse each night, then the battery is fine. But I can't leave that fuse out, as the shifter interlock switch is disabled by this fuse. All the tail lights seem to work fine.
Dome lights do not come on. I've tested the bulbs. They're good. There is now power it seems to the dome light sockets. The door ajar light works, so I'm guessing all the switches are good.
I also have no power windows working. There is no 12v to the switch. But I heard about the Gem module as well. So I'm not sure if the Gem controls if there should be 12v to the switch all the time.
I pulled out the Gem. It looks good. No sign of corrosion or water.
Any thoughts on what to look for or how to troubleshoot this? Is there a way to test a Gem? Would a bad Gem cause the battery draw down?
Was hoping to get confirmation on a fix I intend to repair.

Cruise isn't working...... lights won't even come on and nothing happens at the switches.
This morning I put in a new airbag clockspring ...... just requires patience but not too hard to do.
That didn't resolve. Was going to put in new cruise switch at the brake master cylinder.
My question is would that part prevent the cruise control from even turning on at the steering wheel controls? I don't get any light or anything when I hit "on".
I checked literally every fuse in the under dash and under hood boxes. All are good. Is it likely it's the cruise switch?
Have a F350 V10 super duty the power windows intermittently stop working along with the radio. I have replaced the acc relay key switch under a recommendation. I looked over the fuse panel under the dash for corrosion. Still can't find problem. It was worse this past summer than this winter. When it goes bad after driving 30 miles it will start working.
View 14 RepliesSo i was replacing my power steering box after the shaft broke on it and apparently i didn't have my steering wheel back to exact center. after putting everything back together and started to drive down the road a very thin flat wiring harness broke and got tangled around my steering column under the plastics of the column. I then lost my horn and my cruise control and i believe my airbag. I pulled the wiring harness out and it was very long with two white plugs on either end. I'm not sure what this part is called or where i would be able to buy another one. And if there's some kind of instructions on how or where this harness plugs into sense it was ripped out.

But the horn works?? I don't see how the pressure switch or the brake and clutch switch would make the ab light come on...

Is this some kind of wiring problem or where to start looking..or what might be my problem... I am clueless when it comes to wiring .
View 3 RepliesOk I've done some searching and reading and really haven't found a answer. My 99 f250 sd 4x4 v10 with a automatic transmission stock hubs with ESOF. I checked the fuses under steering wheel. All good. Showing no error codes. Replaced vacuum lines. I've been driving it for some time only using the lock outs on the hub. Whats different is there is no light on dash stating 2wd, 4wd or low. And when manually locked they don't move in snow. new hubs? I don't really care about switching with ESOF I just need 4WD for plowing!
