I went to have the code read, and it was no signal from the rear ABS speed sensor. I replaced the sensor, and the light is still on. Also my speedo is off a bit. It is reading about 7-10 miles an hour faster than what it should. The mechanic can't seem to find the issue. I have a 06 F250, Powerstroke.

The ABS light came on and it was throwing a 'rear speed sensor' code. I searched around and it seemed to be a common issue that the sensor goes bad and needs to be replaced.
I bought a sensor and replaced it, but in doing so, I saw that while the sensor was indeed bad (cracked) the wire right at the connector was corroded.
I replaced the sensor but the ABS light is still on the dash. Is it possible that they code simply needs to be cleared? I was able to read it with my OBD2 dongle and Dash Command App, but maybe I'm not able to clear it?
Or is it more likely that the corroded wire on the connector is the issue? (it wasn't fully corroded and I cleaned it up and sealed it.). It didn't look like I could pull the wires out of the connector, so I assume I'll need a new connector. What is the part number?
So I had an ABS light going on and off on my 05 250, finally got it read, and the computer said right front speed sensor. I changed it and the light stayed on all the time then. I had someone plug it in and drive it and the left front sensor was reading nice and flat on the graph, while the right front was spiking all over the place. I then assumed I got a bad sensor. I changed it one more time and now the light still won't go off. Now what?!
View 11 RepliesOk so my fire station has a 2003 f550 rescue truck with a rescue body with the round tail lights, we recently upgraded them to the LED ones that are much brighter but of course it flashes at the speed of sound. The question I have is:
1. the relay {flasher} is located on the driver side inner fender? I think....
2. does the same EP-27 relay/flasher fix the problem?
I replaced the bulb and it's still not blinking and doing the quick blink on the front and mirror bulbs.
The bulb turns on when on parking lights; it just won't blink.
2013 f-250 crew cab short box, 6.2 gas with 48k miles. Right rear turn signal does not work...SOMETIMES. I took the brake light assembly off...bulb is good, turned on signal and the bulb will flash so I put it back together then drove a couple miles and then signal quits working again. I can't find any loose/corroded/bad wires at the bulb socket and I can't get the bulb to quit working when I have taillight assembly apart, (trying to replicate failure). There are never any blown fuses either.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2008 f-250 2 days ago all light stopped work except the head lights found a blown fuse replaced with a new fuse and now all the lights work except the right rear brake and signal but the running light works so i know its getting power looked at the wireing and it all looked good to me oh ya pulled my trailer in and same thing everything worked but the right brake and signal ....
View 4 RepliesI have a 2005 f350 6.0, my left rear stop signal is not working. I have changed the relay. I only get 5-6 volts at the plug and green-orange wire all the way to the engine bay. Not sure what the problem is????
View 11 Replies2001 F250. I have had issues on other trucks where you get a funny-acting speedometer with a code that comes up as VSS (sensor on top of the rear differential)....And it shifted exact same way.
My new truck speedometer is totally fine and the ABS is on with codes:
C1158 Left front speed sensor coherency malfunction
C1155 Left front speed sensor input circuit malfunction
Shifts about the same way on the trucks with bad VSS.
Question is will a bad front speed sensor affect the way the trans shifts? Doesn't happen all the time. If you go slow it shifts smooth. If you pull off fast a barely noticeable jerk from 1-2 and 2-3....
What exactly does the sensor on the rear axle do? 08' f350. I know it's a speed sensor of some sort, but what does it do or control exactly.
View 3 RepliesIve had this 2009 F250 4x4 Super Crew, 6.4 for 2 years now. Bought it the way it sits with a 6" ProComp lift and 37" Yokohama Open Countrys. Recently, once I get up to 40-45 mph, the rear end starts vibrating violently until I speed up or slow down. There isn't any clanking noise and it's silent. I look in the mirrors to see if it's the tires but they appear to be rotating smoothly. It's never done this before. It's like a tire is out of balance but it shakes much harder than that should be at that speed. It rides smooth as can be at any other speed all the way up to 80 mph which is the faster than i drive. What this could be? I've done searches but can only find info on the front end death wobble which is not the case here.
View 4 RepliesWhere I can get or have a speed nut for the front eye bolt of the right rear leaf spring? If you do I'll gladly send you some cash for it and to cover shipping it. It's supposed to rain pretty much all week here and I really don't want to go to a junkyard. I have checked ford parts and nothing there you can get the hanger that attaches to the frame that the spring bolts to but not the speed nut or bolt only need the speed nut though. Truck is an 2004 f-250 so 1999-04 will work and 05 to 07 is setup the same in the rear but I don't know if they are the same size bolt since they made the frame heavier. I have no idea after 07 when they made the springs longer.

View 11 RepliesBuddy has a problem on his '03 F-450 cab and chassis. When he turns on a turn signal, everything is OK...but it goes out when he applies the brakes. Also, the brake failure light is lit up on the dash, despite the brakes being fine. These problems happened at the same time. I'm think a ground, but not sure where to look.

View 2 RepliesI'm still fighting tow harness problems on my '01 F 250. I started by replacing the 7-way pig tail with a new one which didn't work. Then I undid all the butchering of the harness that was done previously. The factory harness had scotch locks all over it that were used to splice in a 6-way and a 7-way into the bed. I liquid taped all the nicks in the wires. Then I checked for power at the factory harness end where the pigtail plugs in. I have park/running lights, and one of the ports flashes for the left turn signal/flashers/stop lamps. I got rained on before I could check further up the wire. If I have no power to the wire further up is there another place to check?
View 2 RepliesMy neighbors 02 250 6.8l the turn signal/hazard relay is clicking with key off, sounds exactly like a turn signal when truck is off and switches are not engaged. Here's the weird thing, if you hit the brakes the relay stops clicking, if you engage the turn signal or the hazards the lights on the dash are in time with the relay as it should be, but when the turn signal switch or hazards are turned off the relay keeps clicking except when you hit the brakes. Also the turn signal will work with ignition off, if you pull the relay out the turn signals and hazards are inoperable but the brake lights still work. I swapped in a new relay and same thing...
View 8 RepliesWhile I know this has been covered before, I could not find anything pertinent to 2011-2015 model years.
So, I changed my turn signals to LEDs, and now I have the fast-blink behavior. I realize this is because of the significantly decreased amperage and resistance of the LED modules. I did a similar mod on my 2007, and simply found a replacement low-current blinker relay (on eBay, I think), and replaced it (it was physically located behind the extra small glove box near the middle of the dash.
My questions are, 1) for a 2015, should I use the same method of replacing the blinker relay? 2) Any brand and model that will work for this application and/or where one can be purchased and 3) Where is that relay located on the 2015 model? If not, should resistors be used?
