In the last 15k miles, I've replaced the led lights on my driver side mirror twice already, and come to see this morning: they are out again. The turn signal LEDs still work, but the parking lights don't work anymore. Passenger side is fine.

View 5 RepliesSo my driver side map light went out, went and replace the lamp. Now I can't turn on the map light when I depress the lens on both front map lights. Both rear map lights don't work either when I flip the switch and the driver or passenger visor mirror doesn't turn on when I flip the mirror cover. Maps lights do come on when I open doors. Also my Home Link (garage door opener now doesn't work). It's throwing a P1260 code (Theft detected vehicle immobilized). Do this might be related to my light issue? Is there a fuse on relay that controls this that might be bad or something needs to be reset? I've looked at the fuses by the passenger floorboard and every thing looks good. Why this is happening?
View 1 RepliesMy issue is not with the truck starting its with it staying running. I had plugged in all the night prior and all day while at work. When my shift was over went out started fine let it run for about 20 minutes and left to make my way home. During the trip it ran fine for about 1/2 a mile and then it started idling really rough at a stop light went to go threw the light and it as though I had left it out all night with plugging it in. I went to turn on a side street because this situation was not going to end well and it died trying to turn. It would not start back up I was able to get a jump and made another 1/4 of a mile and it died right in front of my house. I replaced both the batteries this morning and it fired right up lasted about a minute and then died again. All the gauge read fine, oil level is good, and the injectors were replaced 2 years ago.

View 14 RepliesMy starter solenoid keeps dying. I can't use a retail chain part. They burn up in a day. Always Motorcraft and it only lasts a year or so.
Any way to test this thing to see why it burns out prematurely?
My truck has been sitting more lately, which means up to a week without starting and running. Each time this happens I run into a dead battery. And I mean dead. I've charged it fully and then used the truck no problem.
We did a test where we unhooked the negative terminal wiring clamp and ran a meter to check for amp draw. We did this by touching the meter leads to the negative post clamp (unhooked) and to the negative post on the battery. It gives a reading of ~1.5 amps. Trying to figure out where the drain might be.
Otherwise, we'll jut pull each fuse to see if we find the electrical area drawing the amps.
The batteries keep dying. I can charge the batteries and drive it to work a couple of days and by the fourth day, it's dead again. Have replaced alternator, batteries, and starter and I am still having issues. Just noticed this weekend, the instrument cluster going off, coming back on, shutting off again all while the truck had been running for about an hour. I'm not sure if it is because the battery was dying or what. As soon as we got home after the instrument cluster incident, turned the truck off and tried to start it. The battery was completely dead.
I have been looking up on sites and I keep coming across the GEM Module. I want to ask around before I buy it. I have also noticed small issues with my 2000 Excursion. Back windshield wiper starts up upon the vehicle starting. Goes a few times and stops. Not sure if this is the same type of issue as in the GEM Module.
2002 Ford F350 7.3l Diesel with 148000 miles
I drive a 2002 F-250 7.3l and have been having a lot of issues. The most recent one is that my truck won't crank unless I've had the block heater plugged in. Like I said in the title, the batteries are supposedly fine. They've been tested by a mechanic and Advanced Auto Parts. But when I crank the truck, it will only turn over for 10 seconds or so before it loses enough juice to even turn over. So it's kind of cold, but only 40-50 degrees, so I didn't think the truck would have that much of a problem starting. I'm wondering if my issues are a combination of an electrical problem and a heating issue.

The mirror defrost comes on with the rear window defrost, my question here is does the defrost image on the mirror light up when on?
So both the mirrors on my new truck are cracked. Driver side got hit, and the passenger side just doesn't respond, might just be a power thing. Anyways I'm wondering if there is any hassle to switch to a different style of superduty mirror? The 08 ones are really nice, if I can find a set for a decent price. Mine are just the basic ones, they look like half ton mirrors. I'm pretty sure they would just bolt in, and wiring really is no issue for me either. Just wondering if would encounter anything that might be an issue.

When it rains or i wash the truck the bottom of the mirror fills up with water, and it slowly drips all over my doors when i drive the truck and when i open or shut the doors the water sloshes around and again gets all over my door. I want to remove the bottom piece (if it comes off) and drill two drain holes, i would do it on the mirror still but im afraid id hit the wires or something for the heated/power functions

View 2 Replies I have a 2016 F250 XL and I want to put smaller outside rear view mirrors on her. I thought I can't be the first person to want to do this but repeated searches haven't turned up a bit of information.
I have the stock XL black plastic tow mirrors. They are manual extension and manual fold in. No heat, no lights, nothing. I want to go to a smaller, non-towing mirror like comes on stock F150's, chrome would be OK. In about 18 months I will want to go back to my trailer towing setup. I need to be narrow for a while.
These are the non-towing mirrors. The truck was pretty well used when I got it; one tow mirror was broken, the glass in the other wouldn't move when I used the switch.
I found a set of power non-towing mirror locally and installed them. They dont work. I tested the switch and the wires at the connectors and I am getting 12v to the mirrors.
So I was thinking maybe it was a ground problem???? Then I took a 12v test light and probed the mirror wires at the connector (clip connected to ground) and then the mirrors slowly moved. I remove the test light and they don't work. Now I am confused.
I did a search and could not find a post I had read regarding mirror vibration after replacing the mirror and back panel of a side mirror. I snapped in the new mirror and everything works properly, but the mirror vibrates so badly you can't see. Somewhere there was mention of a clip to dampen vibration.

Push the screwdriver into the back of the connector, to push the Red terminal locking bar loose, then extract from the front.
Would someone with a 00-07 take a picture of there 7 pin power/signal/heat/ mirror plug for me? I need the pin location of each of the wires because my aftermarket ones do not have the same colors as the factory plugs.
View 1 RepliesBackground: Some inconsiderate fellow manually collapsed my mirror for me and now it will not fully swing open. I can force it, but will not lock in the full open position. I'm sure the locking mechanism is jammed or worse broke, who knows.
I've removed the mirror from the vehicle but am not sure how to get to the inner motors without breaking something.
A fellow ford driver (f150) pulled around a car on a residential street and clipped my mirror. His whole mirror as removed from his white beater truck. My mirror has the bottom plastic housing broken. Power fold and in/out and all glass movements work. How do i fix. Do the housing on the manual fold mirror with signal is the same as the power fold.
