I was just washing my 2016 superduty that just turned 3000mi and noticed the light housings and plastic are broken on the license plate lights. The one just fell apart in my hand. 55k and this happens at 3000mi.
View 9 RepliesI have a Ford Windstar 1999 . My license plate lights are both out. I remove the inside panel of the back door, there is a connector between the license lamps and the rest of the car electrical system. I disconnect it. I go turn on the lamps at the dash board, I then reconnect the connector to the license plate lamps at the rear door… and they work! I go back to the dash and switch the lamps (controls side +rear lamps and license) OFF and then immediately back ON, and the license plate lamps stay OUT. All the others lamps on the fuse circuit work fine. When lamps are lit, shaking the wiring harness has no effect. What is happening and where? This is very strange!
View 4 RepliesI noticed an oil leak out of the front housing of my 2016 350. I have 3 Ford dealers nearby and all 3 can't get me in until 8 August. It looks to be just a few drops daily. Is it safe to drive pulling a 5th wheel until they get me in? The leak is at the bottom of the housing.

View 6 RepliesA fellow ford driver (f150) pulled around a car on a residential street and clipped my mirror. His whole mirror as removed from his white beater truck. My mirror has the bottom plastic housing broken. Power fold and in/out and all glass movements work. How do i fix. Do the housing on the manual fold mirror with signal is the same as the power fold.

View 7 Replies1999 F250 SD 5.4 with 140k miles. There is a triangular plate with a bolt in the center and and what looks like a bolt in each corner of the plate.
Two of three bolts in the plate are missing and the third is loose allowing the plate to spin freely. Center bolt is tight.
Gotten to the point it's really noisy. Can the bolts be replaced in the plate or should I just go ahead and replace compressor. If bolts are replaceable what size?
So I bought LED license plate lights, the same ones Track5tar has (who sent me the link to get them). I got em off the bay, and I put them in and they don't work! The Heatsink gets hot but the lights don't light up in both of them!

Removed the other feston put the new led and they won't turn on anymore..
Change them back. Put them upside down, up, sideways... Nothing
Check all three fuse boxes all ok
Every other light on, inside trunk on, side markers on...
Everything but the license plate lights.
Bulbs are fine, I turned the light switch from off to on (12 o'clock position) and they flicker for a split second. What can be wrong? I checked the harness on the rear hatch and it looks fine. Maybe the switch itself?

Ford charges a premium price on the Dark Parchment or Dark Buckskin that I have. So the dealership I bought the new one from told me its possible to change out the face plate.
View 1 RepliesFor a few weeks now I noticed my stock license plate bulbs started to act strange. My left one is about half burned out, and the right one started to flicker and burned out entirely.
So.. Easy fix right? I bought 4-smd led lights to replace the burnt out ones and as soon as I installed them they worked perfectly! But about twenty minutes later .. The right one burned out. And the left one is dim.
Is there something wrong with the wire? what can I do?
New to me truck has 80k on it, it's leaking at the bell housing. Pulled the inspection plate and it's definitely red stinky automatic transmission fluid. Back of the torque converter is clean.
Ford warranty has run out, however I do have an aftermarket warranty on the truck. Trans temp isn't above normal or running hot.
I'm a very mechanically inclined engineer, I do not work on cars for a living, but I have replaced an input shaft seal on a 4wd transmission before. That's my best guess as to what's leaking. Is this a common issue?
I have a 90 Honda Accord and can't figure out why the lights aren't working. I have no computer codes and all the fuses are good. The headlights, brake, turn signal lights, hazards and interior lights work fine but the tail lights, license plate lights, and all marker lights won't go on. I only noticed by a chance walk around on the car. I've checked every fuse inside and outside fuse panels. The hazards and brake lights going on makes me think that it can't be a ground problem.
I have spent a lot of time trying different things and checking wires andd fuses and can't find any problems. Is there a relay or something for the marker lights?
Where the license plate lights get thir power from? I have a 2002 SC430 and the plug is just dangling. It goes behind the plate and then if I look under the car, it is just there by the bumper and I cannot find a connector that it can reach.

I cannot figure out how to change the bulbs and my manual is no dice; it shows the process for a different location of the plate on the door, maybe a different version of my year model.
View 6 RepliesNoticed a small oil spot on my drive way where i park my truck the other day. Got up underneath and saw it was leaking from a rectangular rubber grommet on the front of the transmission bell housing.
What could be causing this? Have heard a few different things, turbo line leak, turbo pedistals, HPOP leak. Seeing what Super Duty Nation thought of the problem. Going to the dealer sometime this week.
