My dad is looking to purchase a tuner from 5-Star for his 01 Super Duty. He's leaning towards splurging on the Livewire 5015. I know the unit comes with a suction cop, but I was curious if anyone has come up with something cleaner. I searched, but didn't find anything.
Any install pics or ideas?

I've just bought a new 2016 SD xlt. The only extra I wanted that is missing is the factory trailer brake controller. The dealer told me it had to be programmed. I was expecting plug and play and planned to do it myself till they told me that. Is this true?
View 14 RepliesI want to install a set of upfitter switches but my truck didn't come with them...so I bought the switches and the relay/wire harness as well...I cannot find any good information on where to mount the relay and where an extra plug on that harness goes too. I have found the wires that attach and go through the firewall but I am not sure where the rest of this mess goes...my truck did not come with the wire harness already installed...

View 5 RepliesI have recently upgraded the factory sync system in my 2011 f350 lariat to a factory sync with NAV. I am looking for tha way to redirect the fideo feed to the rear view mirror to the nav system, I have found the wire coors and pin locations for the radio end, just need the info if there is a way to move it in the a pillar harness on the passenger side to the radi harness.
Did ford really put 2 different harnesses in the cab if you had nav or not? Factory nav unit and factory camera (camera was in the vehicle to begin with). the radio side is pin 1 and 6 on the 10 pin radio harness.
So I've had this WAAG brush guard laying around for a few years and figured it was time to do something with it. Of course it was bought with no mounting brackets. I had found a lower gear from a Fisher MM1 plow. Tossed the in the truck and started from there.
Broke out the cherry picker and started lining stuff up. Drilled some holes and bolted it up. It's all bolted up but I still need to take a piece of 2x3 angle and weld it to the lower plow mounts to tie the bottoms together and create a step.
Just installed a 4" lift sunday, with a BDS drop pitman arm and then i retorqued it to 185 ft/lb. I now have this extremely low speed (<2mph) or stopped clunking whenever i turn the wheel. I just replaced the upper and lower tie rod that goes from the pitman arm, and its still doing the same thing. Steering box is shot?

Found some threads on this but mostly for the 05-07 models. I am wondering if it is possible to install the upgraded message center (right above the steering column) into the dash of a 2012 F-350 XLT that has only the 2-line text message center?
View 1 RepliesI would like to install some driving lights behind the front bumper of my 2005 Super Duty, I was going to drill two 5" holes and than weld in some 5" pipe from the behind the bumper and attach some 5" KC driving lights to it. Would a hole saw work for this or is a bumper to thick? I was looking at DeWalt or Lenox hole saws their bi-metal. I know that I have to drill slow and I was going to use cutting fluid. I could use my drill press but I think I would have to figure how to clamp a bumper to the table. Then I am going to grind/sand the chrome off and paint it black. I will be taking the bumper off doing all of this.

It has a magnetic mount and I didn't want to put a hole in the roof. I have a cap on the truck and I also don't have a sliding rear window. This will not be a temp. install. Putting the wires in through a hole in the 3rd brake light?

View 2 RepliesI want to install a new front drive shaft in my 2000 F350. I have the new one, and it has a big nut and it is threaded for length adjustment. My old one has a rubber boot which is missing from the new one. I plan on using red locktite but I do not know the torque specs on the front universal caps. Should I take it to my mechanic? I've never owned a 4x4 before.

View 9 RepliesI just ordered a set of Hella 4000x driving lights for my 2006 F-250. I have an aftermarket bumper on it, so the fog lights were taken out as there was no place to put them once the new bumper was installed. The question is, will I have any issues hooking the new driving lights up directly to the fog light system so I can just run them off the fog light switch instead of having to install the new switch on my dashboard? I know the new lights are 12V, but I couldn't find info as to whether the fog lights were running 12V as well.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2010 f250 XL v10 6 speed 4wd. I was looking into adding factory fog lights to it. I have the factory plug by the headlight. I've read that some XL trucks just need the fog lights, wiring harness for the lights and the headlight switch with the fog light option.
So today my buddy (has an 09 f250 xlt with factory fog lights) and I decided to try his headlight switch in my truck to see if it would send power to the plug by the headlight. Plugged it in, turned the fog lights on and had no power. Actually the little fog light light on the switch didn't light up that I noticed either. So we compared wiring harnesses going to the headlight switch. Both trucks have 9 wires. #21 fuse in the kick panel is intact and good.
What else my truck would need in order to use the factory fog light parts? I know I could run new wiring and use an aftermarket switch but I'd rather it be factory.
One of the super coils busted while driving my 2002 F250 Super Duty. I drove it for less than 100 ft. before parking it. It made a rapid "check,check,check,check" sound, which I'm assuming was mainly the coil smacking against other parts while loose. It busted near the point where it screws into the motor. I felt like I lost some compression as it drove sluggishly once broken, although I only drove for a very short time. I also thought I may have smelt a slight burning scent, or maybe oil, but didn't smell anything once I got out of my truck. Any problems I should look forward to other than simply replacing this coil?
View 14 RepliesSo the other day i opened the door and heard a super loud clunk noise come from the door and when I turned the car on and pulled hte window down it wouldn't go down all the way, only about 75% of the way so I assumed like BMW cars the window motor died but oddly it continued to go up and down just now 100% down.
Then 3 days later when I came to drive the car again the window went down to the 75% mark and now its jammed there with no movement even if I tried to lift the window up myself. Usually a broken motor allows this to happen but since it isn't budging I am wondering if its an electrical issue with the power window button more than the motor?
I say this because when i try to lower the passenger window from the driver side it works than out of no where on the 3rd time it wont move at all than 5 minutes later it will move or if it doesn't move I just go and pull the window down from the passenger side then I come to the driver side and try it and it works again than it'll stop again. So maybe its the power window control buttons on the drivers side that's failing?
I have a 2016 F250 6.2 XLT CC 4X4 that is mostly stock, except I did put on 18x9 wheels and LT275/70/18 Cooper ST MAXX tires. I have noticed recently on hwy driving and even in town driving, that the passenger seat rattles/vibrates quite loudly. Obviously if there is someone setting in the seat, it is just fine.
Is this a common issue? Is there a quick fix (tightening a couple bolts or replacing a couple clips?) Or should I take this back to the dealer for warranty?
New floor mats. My truck is going to be 10yr old and has the original King Ranch floor mats. I want some heavy duty rubber ones that will fit around my manual transfer case lever. I ordered the Weathertech digital fit liners and I am not happy with them so they are headed back tomorrow. They have a heavy duty all weather mat but not sure how it will work with my shift lever on the floor. Husky liners/mats look nice and heavy duty but won't accommodate the floor lever.
