Usually in heavy moist conditions the head lights will not come on unless the tilt steering is in the fully seated down position. Solutions???
View 1 RepliesI have a tow haul problem with my 2008 F350 6.4L. It will not go into tow haul unless I tilt steering wheel up all the way and than slam it down and than it will engage. Than when I want to take it out, I have to shut off truck. Any wiring diagram and info on how to get at the wiring. Do I have to disarm Air Bag and pull Steering wheel?
View 13 RepliesI have an early 1997 F350 XL 2 wheel drive with a knapheide 8ft utility bed. Both front tires lean outward at the top.. I have read posts about the top leaning in but this one is leaning out. The front is set up with the twin I beams and just has leaf springs no coils. Couple of guys have said its normal but i would think not because when you jack up the front end they straighten out. I have tried jacking it up and grabbing the wheel at 12 and 6 and tried rocking it to see where the movement is but its pretty solid, it takes the weight of the truck to make them lean. What it could be? Indiana truck, i bought it with over 100k miles so its possible it has had a plow at one time but if so all the evidence of that has been removed.

View 8 RepliesThis is my first post on this forum. I have a 2014 F350 standard fleet truck. The headlights are not day time running lights. The headlight switch is the basic off/parking light/on. The headlights come on as soon as you start the
truck. This just started happening about a month ago. When you shut off the truck the headlights stay on for ten minutes. I scanned the truck with a snap on modis. I got into the lighting module and the "command on" is on. The modis would not give me the option to turn it off. Short of taking the truck out of service for a day to go to the dealer. Is there any other fix I can do?
On the 99-07 front bumper i would like to add driving lights in the bumper under the headlights something like the 11 up bumpers have...
Looking for a light and housing that possibly could be installed with out having to re chrome, so it could have a bezel to cover cut edge of bumper...
i have a 2002 f250 i drove it lat night parked it came home from work at about 3 and noticed my head lights were on and just headlights. I open the door and see that the switch is in the off position too. WEIRD HUH ? they wont go off. I tried to unplug the switch and nothing.

View 3 RepliesI have an 06 F-250 5.4 gas w/138k. It had recently had a lot of play on the wheel (15 degrees maybe) and last week I made the move to replace the gearbox with a redhead box. All seemed to go ok, but now the steering is stiff and it won't come all the way back to center after a turn. It turns smoothly and completely with no binding, but it has to be moved the last 1/3 turn back to center.
I flushed the fluid initially with Valvoline max life fully syn. Then second guessed myself after the problem started happening so I switched it back to regular Mercon. No improvement.
I had it on stands today and it was extremely difficult for me to turn my tires left to right manually (at the wheel). The only other thing I did was adjust the sleeve on the drag link to straighten out the steering wheel.
Should I be able to turn the tires left and right from the wheel easily? Every now and then I hear a whine from the pump which I never had before, but 99% of the time it seems fine and is quiet. it just feels like something is over tight but everything should be to spec.
2008 F250 - All of a sudden no back lights when headlights are on. What gives??
View 14 RepliesI keep blowing the fuse to the headlights. When low beam is on, the right blinker flashes the low lights. When high beam is on, the blinker works. when I turn on the low lights, my cluster light indicators show the right blinker dim and the high beam indicator light is also dim.

View 2 RepliesI just replaced the head lights on my 2001 f250 it had the sealed beam one-piece glass headlights and I replaced those with regular headlights and when I went to get bulbs I found out after I get home the connector is different from the new bulbs. the new bulbs fit correctly but I can not hook plug them the plug has 3 connectors that have two connectors level and one is higher than the other two and the new bulbs the three prongs are level.
My question is. is there another bulb that will fit and plugin and if so what is the part number? is there a adapter that I can get that will allow the factory plug to work? or will I need to cut the old plug off and splice a new connector on?
Walk out to my 02 f250sd this afternoon after it sat for 9 hours while I was working... the lights are on... look inside and the light switch is in the off position... Open the door and it smells like burning wires. Car cranks without a problem but lights will not go off. Unplugged light switch and still lights are on. Open fuse box and all fuses look good none of the relays are hot. Reach around to back of fuse box and almost burn my fingers. Remove 4 screws that hold box in place and look around back. Unplug the wires going into fuse box and see that one is melted and it appears it is melted inside the fuse compartment itself. What might be going on inside this black box?

View 2 RepliesI bought an hid kit for my 2005 f250 the dog lights work fine but the headlights won't stay on. They come on for about 30 seconds then shut off. How to fix this. I've swapped the ballast with the fog light ballast and it does the same thing.

Truck was idling getting ready for work. Went into the Garage to grab my coat. on the way out heard a TERRIBLE noise, and the headlights dimmed down a bit.
I heard the noise a 2nd time, it was the starter trying to reengage! I promptly shut it off and waited a few minutes, but the same thing happened!
I pulled the control wire off of the solenoid, and (still running in Park) everything seemed "OK". To see if the solenoid was bad/stuck, or if there was still voltage on the control side, I touched the connection,and with the engine still running, the solenoid re engaged!
"Something" is telling the starter to 'start'! When I shut the thing down, and pull the key, it seems normal EXCEPT I can faintly see the Battery, and ABS lights illuminated in the dash cluster. I pulled the negative Battery cable off, and that is how it sits right now. Very strange to me. The truck ran great on a 5 hour trip just this past weekend.

I have a 2003 F350 with 7.3 L. I was driving down the road the other day and my headlights suddenly went out. I kept diving with my fog lights on and several minutes later the headlights came back on. Then the next day they went out again, came back on and then went out again and they haven't come back on. I have checked all the fuses and they are all good.
View 4 RepliesMy 02 F-350, running lights and fog lights work fine but when I switch to headlights everything goes dark. Neither high beams or low beams work. Checked the light switch and its fine. Haven't found any blown fuses and headlight bulbs look fine.
View 1 RepliesF350 1999 7.3L. It seems this only happens after a rain but the headlights have been coming on mysteriously by them selves without any contact with the vehicle. I woke up this morning with my headlights on. This has happened a few times in the past and I turn the light switch on and off a few times and then they shut off. This morning I did that but after a few minutes they came back on again. Where do I need to look? Relay? Switch? Dimmer Switch? A mystery.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2002 F350 V10 and one night I turned the headlights on and when the ignition switch was turned to the off position the lights would go off. When the ignition switch is turned off the lights come back on. I changed the ignition switch but the problem still exists.
