I have a 2003, f-350, 6.0L with a K&N Filter. While driving the glow plug light comes on and the power is shut down. After a few seconds the power comes back and it won't do it for a while. No codes. I replaced all of the glow plugs and wires. What's causing this?
View 3 RepliesOkay, I just bought the truck (all stock except for straight pipe and cai). Nothing bullet proofed yet. It has 125,xxx miles on it and for the 4 months I had it I had no issue. Well now while idling or driving the glow plug light will flash on then off and stay off. I'll have no power and after a few minute it'll die on me. But start right back up. Is this a harness issue? 2006 6.0.....
View 2 RepliesI have a new f350 with 1500 miles and the check engine light came on. Took it to dealer he said it was the DEF heater. He replaced that part and then it came back on and now its the GLOW PLUG RELAY MODULE. Now for the good part. Ford told dealer that I could drive the truck with the CEL on. Ford stated that they were remanufacturing the glow plug relay and that is was not available at this time and not sure when it will be ready. I filed a complaint with ford, but with little success. Not sure what else to do about this issue.
View 2 RepliesI have an 04 F350 with Glow Plug errors on cylinder 2, 4 and 8. I have already replaced the harness on that side because the old one was gunked up pretty bad. Still have the same issue. Does this sound like a GPCM issue to ya'll?
AE pulled the following codes:
P0672 Cylinder 2 Glow Plug Circuit
P0674 Cylinder 4 Glow Plug Circuit
P0678 Cylinder 8 Glow Plug Circuit
Not having issues starting but it rarely gets into the 30's here in FL.
i was replacing my glow plug relay and my ratchet hit one of the small wires and sparked. i went in the truck and I heard a really fast clicking noise at the fuse box. I opened it up a very top small relay was the one clicking. i replaced it and it still clicks. the truck is TOTALLY DEAD no power to anything. I checked ALL the fuses under dash and under the hood, they are all good. both batts are at 12. 9 volts. what would kill the whole truck like this. is there a main fuse somewhere? I really need to get this going tonight. it's gonna rain all day tomorrow and this is my only Tow Truck for my business.
View 14 Replies2005 F250 6.0L ... My truck is running really rough when the engine isn't all the way quite warmed up. once the truck is fully warmed up to normal running temp it runs good. I am getting four engine codes. P0672, P0673, P0674, P0676 These codes say 2,3,4, and 6 glow plugs have a open circuit. Can this be the cause of my problem?
View 7 RepliesWhile driving up hill at 60mph the truck lost power. Rpm jumped up as to change gears as it hit 55mph. Still losing power until it shut off. I tried to restart and just got a click from the solenoid. No engine codes whatsoever. Battery had 12.1 volts but when turning the key to start in getting 8 volts. Had it towed home. Today I swapped batteries with my other truck and same click noise from solenoid. All lights, radio, ect still work. Where should I start? Alternator, fuses...?? 2008 f250 5.4 ...

We then switched it off and restarted and it was fine but then the problem recurred a few days later. The light has come on both times when i have accelerated on the motorway. What it could be?
View 2 RepliesStrange thing happened today while driving down the highway while towing my camper. I was going down the road with the cruise control set at 65 mph and I looked at the dash and I had no tach, speedometer or gauges. The dash was blank. The radio was still playing and I was just coasting to a stop. When I finally pulled to the side of the road, I put the truck in park and turned the key to the off position. Turned the key and it started right up and ran fine for the next 2 hours on my trip. I had been towing for about 3 hours before the truck shut off. Don't want this to happen again as I'm towing back home from FL to CT.

View 4 RepliesSo I'll be driving down the road and the gauges will randomly start jumping around then the truck will just shut off, this just started a couple days ago, it seems to be gaining in frequency, when i try and restart the engine all my warning lights flash on and nothing happens, try again and it starts back up, now the last time it happened all of the above happened but it was followed by a fast clicking noise from under the steering column, it has to be a electrical issue as i have full tanks and motor is in tip top shape. Also no codes pop up with my code reader.

View 7 RepliesWe currently have a 2011 F250. During the day time, when you turn on the headlights all the way (not just on "auto"), the dash lights and clock shut off. Originally, I thought that they were just dimmed to the point where you couldn't see them, but the brightness is already turned all the way up on the dash lights. If I turn the brightness up any higher, the dome lights turn on, but the dash and clock remain off. If you return the headlights back to the "off" or "auto" position, the clock and dash return to their normal brightness.
View 4 RepliesI have a question about my new to me 2006 F-250 CC, 4x4. Resource the 12-volt accessory supply wire that goes to pin #4 on the 7 pin trailer connector? We have interior lights in our enclosed race trailer and it's a bit of a pain to have to turn the key on to use the lights. Just don't want to run a direct fused wire from the battery to the plug if I don't have to.
View 3 RepliesWe just replaced the #5 injector. Went to take for a test drive and the 4 glow plug caps on passenger side popped off and leaking oil while driving. Pushed them back on and they popped off again. They shouldn't be under pressure should they.
View 6 RepliesOk so long story short, my Viper 2 way alarm, instead of the brain being wired to each of the 4 doors individually, the installer ran 1 wire to the dome light. seems to work fine as far as arming/disarming/locking/unlocking, but since the dome light stays on for 10 seconds or whatever after the door is shut.
When I arm it, the 2 way remote says "door open" because the light is still on so it thinks a door is open. this eventually times out and all the sensors arm, but theres a long delay. it arms fine and no alerts pop up if i lock the doors first from the outside keypad on the door, making the lights go off, then hit arm on the viper, and everything is good to go.
can i change it so no matter what, as SOON as i shut the door, the light goes off? i want there to be NO delay, if possible. if not, i may need to just have the installer run a wire to each door and take the single run to the dome light off, as it is sorta annoying to me.
03 f 250 super duty, my battery light came on and when I accelerate my dash gauges shut down and radio turns off, if I idle or stay under twenty MPH, everything works fine. Battery and alternator test good, lights never dim, any thoughts
View 4 RepliesOk yesterday while driving my truck the glow plug light came on couple times and lost power but the light would turn off and power came back. It has done this before and it was the injector harness grounding out on the engine. I replaced that last time. I checked over the knew one and did not see any chaffing on the harness.
Now this morning I go outside to start it and I can hear my fuel pump and vacuum pump but injectors wouldn't cycle. It has also done this before but I could never figure out why. Last time I tore into it checking through my wiring harness and couldn't find anything. When I put it back together it started fine.
It's a 2004 6.0 excursion with about 190,000 miles. At 185,000 I pulled the motor and did new oem head gaskets, Arp head studs, bulletproof egr cooler and oil cooler system, bulletproof 48v ficm, strictly diesel regulated return, and I've been running gear heads srl tune before and after the truck was rebuilt.
Recently the truck has been acting up at random times. While running the gear head srl tune, the truck will lose power, the boost gauge on my edge insight will get stuck along with Icp psi, the water in fuel light and glow plug light will come on, and then after a few seconds it will clear itself and run fine. Last night I was on a two lane road and putting my foot into it and the truck did the same thing where it loses power, but this time the truck actually died on me while I was cruising at 60.
Same lights were on but this time the cruise control light fluttered while the truck was in the midst of dying. I tried restarting it and it took two sets of cranking before it fired and stayed running. On the way home I babied it and the truck lost power and the Rpms dropped and only the glow plug light came on. Got home and ran codes and I got camshaft and crankshaft position sensor codes and I tuned it back to stock, drove it around, and the truck ran fine, but while on a stock tune I am getting a egr valve code.
I'm getting ready to change the glow plugs in my dad's e99, 196k on the clock. When I pulled the air intake tubes I found some oil in the turbo:

Does this look like it is caused by the PCVor is it a bigger issue?
I will be changing all the glow plugs in a few days. Should I re-torque the head bolts or anything while I am in there? Don't want to button it back up and then wish I had done something while in there.
