I have a 1999 F250 V10 SuperDuty. Just recently I had noticed some gray foam material laying on my passenger floor. Then about a week later my air vent near the passenger window is whistling really bad when I have the air on. I normally have that vent closed. Is there an easy fix for this? My guess is that the foam inside has deteriorated and broke apart.

Just the other day noticed a whistle noise or a whining noise while I'm accelerating. Sounds like its coming from from the front passenger side,not sure.
2006 F250 5.4 - While driving ac changes from vent to defrost on it own..let off gas and it will change back to vent. I replaced vacuum can under hood.. no luck.....
View 1 RepliesI just bought this truck,2013 f250 CC Lariat 4x4. The sliding rear windows opened and closed 1 time and has never done it again. I have read about the motor and cable setup breaking and needing to be replaced. I do not think that is the issue. I have also read that the channel the window runs in needs to be lubricated on a regular basis. I was going to try that first. What is the recommended lube for these window channels?
View 2 RepliesNew to me 2003 F250 Super Cab 6.8 V10. Great condition inside and out. 68,000 miles. Began smelling fuel (gas) a few days after driving it 250 miles from purchase location. Traced leak down to the top of the gas tank. Staining was visible around the rear vent. Applied about 5 psi to the tank and sprayed soap around until I saw bubbles coming from a hairline crack at the rear vent connection. Its where the fitting for the hose comes out of the tank.
My first choice would be to hot weld the crack. I'm not very comfortable with the idea of a heat source near a gas tank. I'm not sure, but the heat from the plastic welder might be hot enough to ignite fumes? Second option is to try some industrial 2 part epoxy (PIG) and seal it with that. Is there pressure inside the tank, and if so how much? Can try this fix with epoxy or JB Weld?
2015 with a 6.2 and 1200 miles. I have a whistle coming from under the hood. I didn't here it at first with the windows up and AC on but now that its cooler I have the windows open. I only here it at 2000 RPM or under while accelerating. Doesn't seem to matter how hard I am on the pedal or how heavy the load.
Dealer is going to have to fix it but would like to get a heads up for what it could be.
2007 F-350 4X4 King Ranch... I have the 6.0 diesel. I am on the road to Houston, Tilden and San Antonio TX, and I am noticing a whistle on acceleration. I can change the tone by how hard I push down on the accelerator. I thought it was a radio issue and turned the radio off and got no change. Turned the a/c off, no change. Down hill or coasting, nothing.

whistle sounds like its on right side when driving, and left side when sitting in pass side. wife narrowed it down to the over head console sunglass pocket is where whistle is loudest.
Could the clearance lights be whistling? How does one tighten them up or add sealant to the bottom of them to seal them to the roof. Do I have to drop the front of the headliner to access them?
07 f350 6.0 crew cab Truck thinks doors are closed when they're open and open when they're closed, just on the front 2 doors and keyless entry doesn't work and the key pad doesn't when you try to use the 2 right keys to lock the doors the back light will flick on and right back off, it'll work just fine to put the code in to lock the doors the back light on the keypad will stay lit up like it's supposed to.
The back lights only flicker when you push both 7-8 & 9-0 to lock the doors. When I bought the truck about 3weeks ago, the keyless entry worked but not the keypad so I kept pushing the buttons on the keypad till it started working but then the keyless hasn't worked since. Then the batteries died on the truck and I put new ones on and that's when I noticed the door sensors being backwards ..
I'm not just reposting it though. I went ahead and sprayed all of the door switches with WD-40 multiple times, and the interior cab lights still come on. So, I'm assuming one of the switches in the doors is bad. Only thing is, I don't know how to figure out which door has a bad switch. Any way I could check this? Or it may be something other than a bad switch. It's annoying not having any interior lights (I took them all out to keep the battery from running down).
View 6 RepliesI bought a new Motorcraft door latch for my F550 because the door latch won't stay latched. You close the door firm and it seats well then pops loose the first bump in the road. I found all kinds of OEM replacment latches all over the internet but nowhere can I find any instructions or videos or any talk of the best way to go about replacing the door latch. I know they wear out from constant use on the drivers side.

View 4 RepliesI noticed a slight whistle last year coming from my front left hub. I pulled the hub and greased the gears as best I could and it sort of went away. Now this year it is a little louder. It only happens when the hub is locked. Is starts around 20mph and goes away at 40. Is the bearing in the hub shot or is this normal. 4x4 works fine and there is no visible excess wear on the gears. The truck has 93k.

The design of the heater / AC control module for this year of truck does not have a separate AC switch. There is not a separate button to turn the AC on and off and with a separate switch to choose which vent to blow the air through. For this year, I think 99-04, the vent selector switch must be turned all the way to the left and there are two AC Options... AC and Max AC. For both of these options the AC only blows through the dash vents.
Is there anyway to upgrade the in-dash unit to allow you to turn on and off the AC compressor while independently selecting, floor, foor / vent, floor / defrost, vent / defrost, etc... for the vents that the AC blows through?
I live in CA and it can get HOT... I would really like to blow the AC through the floor vents and / or the floor vents and the dash at the same time to provide more even cooling throughout the truck. Also, blowing through the floor vents would provide better cooling to the back seats.
My A/C, vent fan (blower motor) keeps going in and out. Does not do it all the time, but when it goes out, it will come back on after a few moments, but will not run full speed. If you try to adjust the speed, it just cuts off again. What is causing this.

View 2 RepliesI recently purchased a 2012 f350 power stroke. Love the truck but went out this morning and the air would only come out of the vents. I couldn't get anything out of the defrost or the floor vents? Truck is out of basic warranty so want to see if I can figure this out myself or if it needs to go in the shop.I've looked for a fuse but didn't see anything that ran an actuator door.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2000 f250 4x4 7.3 diesel. I had problems with my a/c and controls for sometime now. my a/c was blowing threw the defrost vent. I was told my blend door was bad. I bought a new blend door installed it,still doing the same thing. I was told to check my vacuum lines. I check them, they were bad. I replace my vacuum lines and my vac pump as well. that fixed my problem blowing threw the defrost vent. I can control my air flow from floor,dash vents and defrost vent. the problem I have, I not able to control my temperature when I turn my center from red to blue. It blows hot air and the air that is coming out of the vents isn't very strong at all.
View 1 RepliesI have a '13 6.2 with 11k on it and it's started making a weird noise since the temp has turned cold. At first I noticed a slight whistle at certain rpm's but the temps were around 0 so I didn't think too much of it since stuff gets noisy the colder it gets. Today the temps were in the upper teens and I'm noticing a new sound. From around 1000-1500rpm I'm getting a whining sound that is noticeable in the cab. It's coming form the engine since it does it while sitting and I can make the sound appear by getting the engine at the correct speed. It's louder when the engine is cold but I can still notice it a bit after the engine is at operating temps. Below 1000 and above 1500 rpm there is no noise. I never really noticed it before, but since I heard the slight whining last week I've been listening more and I know that's when you start hearing noises that you normally wouldn't pay attention to.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2002 f-250 7.3 diesel, i straight piped it but only by cutting muffler off and welding a piece of pipe in its place, it is pretty loud but id like to hear the turbo more like more of a whistle, it has a pretty good whistle once i get past 1500 rpm, is there a slightly bigger turbo i could put on without putting too much strain on the 180,000 mile engine?
View 6 RepliesI'm have a 2011 6.7, 180,000. I have noticed a high pitched whistle, not an turbo whine, that disappears after the boost drops to less that the first mark on the gauge 5-10psi??? It stays consistent in tone, the mileage is good, power is good normal 6.7!!.
