View 1 RepliesI have a 2014 F-250 6.7 crew cab. Noticed today when I put the truck in reverse there's a continuous steady beep where as before the beep was intermittent, as I got closer to the object it would become faster until it would eventually become a steady beep. Which I'm sure was working correctly. Tried cleaning the Camera lens but it didn't work, it continued the steady beep now I'm worried.
View 14 RepliesI've been wanting to install a back up camera on my truck for quite some time now. A month ago I backed into a steel pole in a parking garage and trashed my bumper, making me realize I need a backup camera I ordered a cheap ebay camera and 30 feet of extra power and video cable for the install.
Down the road I'll order something better but for now I'm working with a cheapo 15 dollar camera I know where I'm mounting the camera and where/how I'm running the cables, I'm just not sure how to get my head unit to switch automatically when I engage the truck in reverse. I have a pioneer double din touch screen radio as seen here on crutch field.

First tech post for my new truck. I just bought a hold-over but new 2015 F250 XL Supercab 2wd and love the simplicity of no unwanted options. That said, there are two features I am adding. The first is perfectly straightforward, cruise control (swap button cluster and have the function turned on by the dealer). The second is a tiny bit more involved, back-up camera, in mirror display with bluetooth hands-free (I like the simple AM/FM radio because I can work it all with gloves on).
So I basically need three things from the truck and my research has been inconclusive on a couple of things because most of the threads are for 2014 or earlier. I think I can pull switched 12V and ground (pin 1 and 4) plus reverse lights (center, or pin 7) all from the the trailer wiring harness. It appears these are not affected by the canbus load restrictions of other places to tap reverse signal (remember, XL so likely nothing in the overhead console for the auto-dimming rear view mirror). Are there any challenges with this when I do hook up my enclosed trailer or when it is not hooked up regarding the trailer brake controller/anti-sway?
I already found a good youtube video for how to route the wires so I think this is my primary challenge at this point.
Have a 2012 350 cclb 4x4 6.7 lariat, interior lights don't work. Not with any door open, Not with switch. map lights work. We've checked every fuse in cab and under hood. What to check now ?
View 8 RepliesPurchased a new 2016 F250 Diesel. When you shut the truck off or open any door while the vehicle is parked, the interior, markers, and bed lights all come on. I know it is suppose to be a convenience but to me it is a pain. And to make matters worst, they remain on for a short period of time after you leave the truck and close the door. Sometimes you don't want the lights to come on, like when you shut the truck off and are waiting to pickup someone. Any solution for this problem, short of removing the bulbs, or reprograming the computer?
View 13 RepliesI'm not just reposting it though. I went ahead and sprayed all of the door switches with WD-40 multiple times, and the interior cab lights still come on. So, I'm assuming one of the switches in the doors is bad. Only thing is, I don't know how to figure out which door has a bad switch. Any way I could check this? Or it may be something other than a bad switch. It's annoying not having any interior lights (I took them all out to keep the battery from running down).
View 6 RepliesI have a 2006 F250 6.0L Crew Cab 4x4 that started acting up. It started two days ago when I noticed my windshield wipers were only working at one speed. Then today my wife took the truck to work and she said the radio stopped working on her way to work. Then she gets in this afternoon and the ABS light is on, the A/C isn't working, the windows are super slow and the interior lights are flickering. She isn't home yet so I haven't checked the fuse block. Where would you start looking?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2012 F250 and am having a problem where the interior lights wont come on with the dash switch or when the doors are opened. I have confirmed that it is not a bad fuse, also the lights will come on when the switch on the individual lights is manually pushed, but not automatically like they are supposed to. I dont see it being a door switch issue because the door chime comes on and the stereo goes off when the doors are opened after turning the ignition switch off. I've read that the dealerships will switch out the BCM. I thought maybe the dimmer switch next to the headlight switch but there is no power to it whatsoever, which also I can't dim the instrument panel lights. What did you do to resolve?
View 1 RepliesJust got a 2001 F-250 Super Duty (crew cab, long bed, 4x4, 7.3L turbo diesel) and have been going through and fixing a lot of little issues. The one that now has me stumped is the interior lighting circuit (which is also the bed light). Here's what I've got so far:
Map/reading lights work, but dome lights do not (neither automatically nor when turning them on via the dimmer switch). Verified all fuses in the PDC as well as the interior fuse panel (behind the driver side knee panel). The interior lighting relay was missing, so I purchased and installed it.
Relay #1 (interior lighting), fuse #4, and fuse #14 are all good - when I pull the fuse with the door open, the relay clicks (and clicks again upon reinstalling the fuse). With the doors closed, the relay clicks when activating the interior lights via the dimmer switch.
The LT GRN/YEL wire is hot, and all related accessories work (map lights, engine bay light, etc).
The BLK/LT BLU wire is not receiving power from the relay from what I can tell.
Before I start trying to pull out the fuse panel to start checking connectivity, anything else to check? The ground at the rear driver corner of the cab is good, and a visual check of the harness running down the driver side of the cab has no visible signs of damage.
Also, given that the relay is audibly actuating the way it should, I'm guessing that the GEM can be ruled out as a possible cause? My next step will be to get a pinout diagram for the relay and crimp a quick jumper to see whether or not it's simply a defective relay... But I doubt it's the case.
Two nights ago I got into the truck at night and realized the interior lights don't come on. I tried the rocker switch it will only dim the dash gauges now. It did work before guessing its a bad rocker switch. I can turn them on manually front and back....

View 2 RepliesMy radio, power windows and map lights all at the same time work intermittently. I have changed the relay. No blown fuses. Sometimes they all work and then for no reason that I can tell, they all go off. right before they all come back on (which you never know when it will happen) I hear a click in our around the fuse panel.
View 1 RepliesMy aftermarket bumper deleted my fog lights and I added some spotlights on the bumper. I just wired the spotlights to the fog light wiring. My switch is now messed up and I just want to wire the spotlights to a separate switch. What wires control the fog lights on the back of the headlight switch? Will I have to wire in a new hot wire to the new switch or does the headlight switch have separate hots for the headlights and foglights?

The truck is a 2004 F250 4x4... Checked all fuses. What am I missing?
I have a 2006 F250 Superduty 4x4 that the brake lights hazards and turn signals have stopped working in the rear.. The middle cab brake light does not work either.. The running lights do work as well as the turn signal and all lights in the front.. I also checked the trailer plugs and both work for running brake and signal lights.. I have checked all fuses under the hood as well under the dash with a test light and i have nothing blown.. I have replaced the Brake switch as well as the flasher module under the dash and picked up a new multifunction switch (Turn signal/hazard) and that didn't work either.. I'm stumped at this point.. I have not checked the bulbs yet but wouldn't think they would all blow at the same time.. (will do this next)..

I installed a Hopkins back up camera early last year. The original double sided tape that holds the monitor to the windshield didn't hold up long. Tried some of the gorilla double sided tape. A couple weeks max. Then I tried the 3m double sided tape. It would work a month or so. Did good all winter, but now I'm going to have to redo it for a 4th time already this year. It sticks to the glass, it's pulling loose from the plastic mount made onto the monitor.
View 3 RepliesI would like to add a second backup camera to my 2016 F-350 Super Duty to assist when hooking up to my fifth wheel. It is a Crew Cab with the Factory Tonneau Cover so my view of the hitch is blocked. I would like to add the third brake light high mount camera and be able to toggle between my OEM/Tailgate Camera and the High Mount. I have found a couple that claim they will work but both require tapping into the main connector on the back of the display, but not quite sure how to open it up. Accessing the connector is not a problem, just getting it apart without breaking it is the question. The "Lockpick" system has not been tested/certified for the 2016 model.
View 3 RepliesI have recently upgraded the factory sync system in my 2011 f350 lariat to a factory sync with NAV. I am looking for tha way to redirect the fideo feed to the rear view mirror to the nav system, I have found the wire coors and pin locations for the radio end, just need the info if there is a way to move it in the a pillar harness on the passenger side to the radi harness.
Did ford really put 2 different harnesses in the cab if you had nav or not? Factory nav unit and factory camera (camera was in the vehicle to begin with). the radio side is pin 1 and 6 on the 10 pin radio harness.
