View 11 RepliesJust bought the truck and when remote starting it i noticed it is turning on the heat. Having read a bunch of different posts it sounds like the climate control would be set to automatic which i would like to have it just use were i set my controls. Problem is i do not have any options on the instrument cluster for climate control and no auto button the the heater controls themselves. I would think that means i do not have automatic climate control but it is doing it. How to turn it off?

Id expect CAN coding but im just wondering if i could just bolt on and code or is there way much more to it like additional control module and what not .... maybe even not possible at all.

View 5 RepliesI can't seem to get my heated seats to come on when I use the remote start. Is this possible? I assume the supplemental heater comes on behind the scenes. Is there a temperature differential between the climate setting and the outside temperature? If so what is the delta? If it's 40 degrees outside and my climate is set at 60 degrees...will the supplemental heater come on? How about the rear window defroster and heated seats, can I make them come on when remote started? Same question for the seat cooling...in a few months.

I have a2011 f-250 in my fleet, manual a/c and just the other day it shut off like a switch, when you start the truck it comes on and the buttons all work but after 6 seconds it goes dead, no lights, no blower nothing, everything else works fine. I have also noticed when you first start when the radio goes from the station to the clock thats when the climate unit shuts off. talked to the dealer they said they never sell and control heads and i doubt its that cause it works on first start.
View 6 RepliesI recently got a 2015 f450 XL service truck and was wondering if the factory sync system with steering wheel controls could be added or would I be better off swapping in an aftermarket radio? And the remote start, fog light and brake controller kits are the same from the pickups to the chassis cabs correct? Last question is that I found the truck has global window open but doesnt remotely close is that correct?
View 2 RepliesMy 2000 F-350 SD 4X4 V-10 has no cruise control, and the A/C controls are not powered. Is it possible that both these power option circuits are run through a fuse link, and better yet, through the same fuse link? A/C has been troublesome in the past, but the cruise quit one day without warning. All fuses are good. Tried jumping the A/C pressure switch to recharge it, but no power is present.
View 4 RepliesMy 2005 Ford F250 6.0 diesel CLIMATE CONTROL DEFAULTS TO DEFROST mode all the time now. For some reason I'll turn on the AC and it is either already in defrost or changes to it no matter what I do. Is the head unit in the dash the problem or is it a vacuum leak or an electrical issue?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2006 F-250 Super Cab with climate control. The last three years when the temp exceeds about 85 degrees outside it acts up. It will switch from the AC vents to defrost and blow normal air through, not ac cold. Then it will switch back, when doing so I can hear the internal deflector shudder. It will do this every few minutes. It is extremely annoying. All other times of the year it works fine. My local dealer had the truck last year, but could not find anything wrong. I have used the search and also Googled and while I find similar problems nothing exactly the same.
View 12 Replies2008 F-350 Lariat, 6.4L, dual climate control. The passenger side blows ONLY hot air whereas driver side seems to blow whatever is called for. Is it right to assume this is the passenger side actuator, and this actuator is the "easy" one to replace (i.e. not pulling dash)? I read in another thread that there might be a question on determining the correct one to replace, so therefore I ask for clarification. How to verify if my assumption wrong?
View 4 RepliesSo both the mirrors on my new truck are cracked. Driver side got hit, and the passenger side just doesn't respond, might just be a power thing. Anyways I'm wondering if there is any hassle to switch to a different style of superduty mirror? The 08 ones are really nice, if I can find a set for a decent price. Mine are just the basic ones, they look like half ton mirrors. I'm pretty sure they would just bolt in, and wiring really is no issue for me either. Just wondering if would encounter anything that might be an issue.
View 2 RepliesFriend brought me his 2001 F250 SD 7.3 to see if I can figure out what is wrong with it. He has had it to several shops to no avail. It started with lights coming on and off periodically and ended with starters burning up on a regular basis. 3 or 4 by now. It will roll over on it's own and do all kinds of crazy stuff. Shops have pretty much stuck with swapping starters and solenoids but I don't think that is it. I have pulled the main fuse block under the hood and it is clean, next the one under the dash.
I can't see moisture in the GEM but there was moisture on the outside of the box. The GEM looks OK but that doesn't really mean anything. I put a Ford scanner on it (AutoEnguity type) and it scanned and brought uo several GEM failures but not sure if that is from hooking and unhooking stuff. I have had to keep bat cables unhooked as I am afraid it will burn up when no one around. When I scanned I had to hook up batteries and when I turned on the ignition it went crazy with flashing lights and relays clicking from behind the dash. I cleared the codes and it stopped. GEM? Can GEM's be tested? I know they can be re programmed so why not tested?
I'm thinking of swapping my tow mirrors from my 04 F-250 for a set off an 08. My truck currently has manual windows and mirrors. What would I need to wire up the power and heated mirrors from an 08 and change my windows to auto while I'm at it?
View 11 RepliesI am wanting to swap out my mirrors from the adjustable "egg-shaped" superduty on my 2004 to the newer style square type mirrors. I like the newer style mirrors, because i drive an F-550 at work and it has those mirrors on it and it makes towing and seeing in general a heck of a lot better and easier. The question is, Is this conversion possible? Will the newer style mirrors fit on an older truck like mine?
View 14 RepliesI have never liked that the headlights are below the turn signals on the newer super duties. Has anyone swapped the positions so the headlights are on top? Will be ordering a 2016 next week and this would be one mod I would like to do. Not having the truck yet, I have not been able to do any investigation on what this would take or if it is even possible.

I have recently aquired an overhead console and wiring harness from a 2000 F250 and want to install it in my 2001 F250 which did not come with one. The connector behind the passenger kickplate is different so I assume I'll be doing some wire splicing. After reading all the previous posts, I'm unable to find old bird. Apparently he's not around anymore. Looking for the template/wiring instructions for this retrofit?
View 3 RepliesGot an 03 f250 supercab, and looking to get rid of the old front bench seat for 2 regular front seats and installing a big middle console, will this be kinda hard? I got in my truck now the driver seat is seperate from the 2 seater bench seat and it has the flip down middle console to where you can flip it up for somebody to sit in the middle or flip it down for the cup holders etc.. I want to get rid of that and just have the 2 front seats and an big middle console. I think some of the 1998-2003 f150 come with this set up

View 5 RepliesI recently purchased this remote starter and I installed it and had a local dealer program/cut the key.
I have an XLT without the message center. Do I have the manual temperature setting for when the remote starter is used? It has not worked either way as far as i can tell but it has also been very mild temps in illinois at 55-65 in the morning.
If I do have it, is it a setting i must engage somehow? I looked in the manual but could not seem to find anything.
