I just bought an 2015 F250 4x4 6.2L (gas) I am thinking about buying a programmer/tuner for it. I am planning on taking the truck pulling a 28' camper to Florida this summer. My goal is to get the most gas mileage I can out of the truck.

View 6 RepliesThis truck ran 100% fine with the tuner, exhaust DPF/EGR off, i had received an HPFP code because the tuner is used to the old ford flash, not the new flash that widen the HPFP parameters, the one that Ford screwed over your 100k warranties. Anyhow, i took it to the dealer to get the HPFP replaced. My truck ran fine I just wanted the HPFP replaced as I'd rather pay 3k$ now than 10,000$ when it gets shavings in the line.
I told them there is a tuner on it, apparently they took the tuner off and reflashed it to fords most recent programming. They called me and said it won't start. So i came up to check it out and turned the key cluster came on, but no crank, no starter, nothing. as if a security parameter was in place or something. Plugged the tuner back in and tried to install a tune to see if it would fix it. No luck there.
Is this a case of them running the truck with the tuner off and it going into regen thinking the DPF is there? You can turn the key and the cluster goes on and now has a wrench symbol as it didnt when i brought it in. What are my options? I know i made a mistake taking to them, but i didnt think they would take it off and screw it up. Im pissed because theyre telling me its my fault with aftermarket parts on it. Even though my truck ran fine before coming to them now it wont move...
Looks like a great option the Job 1 trucks missed out on. Looking into the feasibility of it. This is my first Ford so I am not really sure how the factory plans these things out.
View 14 RepliesYesterday I returned my F-250 SUPERDUTY 5.4 To stock on the sct flash tuner that came on the truck. after returning it to stock i tried to start the truck to leave about an hour later and instantly wouldnt start it backfired. we returned it back to the tune that was on the truck, still no start. we replaced the starter, the battery still nothing. if it sits for a little while it will attempt to turn over. it has a strong odor of gas in which led me to possibly thinking its vapor locked? or the pcm being bad or maybe the crank shaft sensor? the truck has ran strong and had zero problems up until now when we took the tuner off. it runs about 6 codes now, a few being the kam the o2 and low voltage.
View 4 RepliesMy 99 super duty crew cab A/C does not cool the inside of the truck very well when sitting in stop and go traffic like I always do, in south Louisiana. I recently rebuilt the whole a/c system and it works great when I start rolling. I think my fan clutch is working correctly. I have been thinking about a way to convert to electric fans and take that huge weight off the water pump snout but I haven't found a way to do it, that I like. I was wondering for info to install a pusher fan in front of their a/c condenser that comes on with the a/c system. I would imagine it causing any problems while driving, seeing as a bunch of cars have pusher fans and I could only think it would support the cooling system.

I see now that you can get the wide track front axle on the F-350 as well.
On my way into work this morning, all the warning lights came on, along with the check engine wrench. My display was showing that I was overheating and the gauges stopped working. While this was happening, there was no noticeable change in the way the truck was performing.
After about a minute or two, the warning lights shut off and the gauges worked again as normal. The gauges did not show that the truck was overheating at that time. Another few minutes went by and the same thing happened again. Then the gauges came on and the warning lights shut off for the second time, it did not happen again for my 10 minute ride to work. On my way home this evening, this did not happen again.
The truck seems to be charging and the battery seems to holding a large as well. The truck is a 2015 F350 XLT 6.2 with about 9700 miles on it.
Recently bought a 2015 f250 xlt.....very impressed with it. Only thing is the wheel feel and look to small. What is the largest size i can run stock? Will 35/12.5 fit on stock 17 wheels or should i just spring for aftermarket rims at the same time? Also exhaust options for the 6.2? Remember, i need load range e!
View 4 RepliesJust did my first oil change on my 2015 Super Duty 6.2 engine. I got the Fram filter the book called for, a PH-2. There's goobs of room for the longer filter. Would that be the PH8A? The book is about to trying to figure the comparable long vs short filter. Why do they insist on those short filters when a full size will fit? My Dodge Ram Hemi was the same way.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2015 SD with only 4100 miles on it. This has happened to me twice. Both times, traveling slowly at idle or just above. Anyway, tried to give it a little gas, and -----nothing. Lightly pumped the throttle a couple of quick times and back on line. The motor didn't die, but there was no response to the throttle at all. The first time, I thought maybe it was something I did. Then it doesn't happen for a month and a half and then again, in heavy traffic in the rain. Haven't had my first service yet, and you can bet I'll tell them about it. Almost felt like a two-stroke that had loaded up?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2015 f250 extended cab, gas with 31000 miles. Its a work truck but its my day truck as well so lots of easy miles too. Checked the brakes today thinking it may be time for pads and found lots of grooves on all rotors, pads have lots of life yet. Is this common on the 2015? did ford give us low quality rotors? should I replace with less aggressive pads? I have had no braking problems, noise or pulsing. I thought I could put a second set of pads on the original rotors.

Also, any way to tie the tailgate into the alarm system (similar to the way the hood is). I'm guessing that you could possibly tap into the wiring under the hood and add a switch/contact at the tailgate... Also, how would this interfere with engine immobilizer, etc?
I have a 2015 F250, cc 4X4 PSD. It has 22,000 miles on it. I notice a small quarter sized drop of oil after it is parked by the right side front wheel. It is coming from behind the dust cover and universal joint where the axle goes into the tube. I dont know how long it has been leaking. My issue is I am about 800 miles from home on a camping trip, have to go back to work Monday, and lcoal dealer here can't take it in till next week. So, if the hubs are not locked and the truck is in 2 wheel drive, the gears shouldn't be turning right? I assume it is ok to drive home. I didn't want to pull the plug and check the fluid because if any runs out and leaves a stain on the cover, I don't want ford trying to deny warranty claiming I messed with it first.
View 5 RepliesI am looking at a left over 2015 F250XL, 6.2L, 4X4, Short Bed. It is a new vehicle, 320 miles, it came in a dealer swap so that was the transfer miles. Truck was built in December 2014.
Question: It has bucket seats with no console. Well, there is some small plastic thing that is a cup holder between the seats, but NO arm rest center console. Is this normal? Or did someone take out the center console/arm rest and swap it into something else, and just found something to bolt to the floor? The one that is there appears it could be a factory piece, but man alive is it cheap.
Also, why no fold up arm rest attached to the seat??? Ford did this in the past. Is there a bolt hole to attach an arm rest from another Ford bucket? One that you could fold up and down maybe?? You would have to make a hole in the fabric to use it, but someone should be able to go feel around for a threaded hole or something.
Question on my 2002 f350 front end conversion to 2015 front end ? I need to know, how the wiring goes to the wiper motor to get it wired up...
