Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2014 - Addition Of Up-fitter Switches?
Dec 4, 2014
I just bought a 2014 F-250 with out upfitter switches, how hard it would be to add them now? and if the wiring is there?

View 7 RepliesI have my observation camera wired into upfitter number four. When I flip the switch on, the light in the end of it lights up, but I'm not getting any power to the monitor. I put a volt meter to the end of its cable and it is dead.
Is there an individual fuse for the upfitter or something I can check to get back up and running? I had the switch wired three years ago and it has worked without fail since.
Does the switch cluster for the upfitter switches pry out? from the top, bottom? do you need to access from the side? Pictures welcome
I also have the brake controller installed
I hooked up one of my upfitter switches in my 2007 F-350 diesel.
I would like to do the same thing in my 2015 F-350 diesel truck.
I would like to use it to attempt to get the truck warm before use as I am experiencing poor heat characteristics in this truck.

Looks like a great option the Job 1 trucks missed out on. Looking into the feasibility of it. This is my first Ford so I am not really sure how the factory plans these things out.
View 14 RepliesMy 99 super duty crew cab A/C does not cool the inside of the truck very well when sitting in stop and go traffic like I always do, in south Louisiana. I recently rebuilt the whole a/c system and it works great when I start rolling. I think my fan clutch is working correctly. I have been thinking about a way to convert to electric fans and take that huge weight off the water pump snout but I haven't found a way to do it, that I like. I was wondering for info to install a pusher fan in front of their a/c condenser that comes on with the a/c system. I would imagine it causing any problems while driving, seeing as a bunch of cars have pusher fans and I could only think it would support the cooling system.
View 14 Repliesthe stealer says that since I already bought the truck that it would cost a lot for them to put one on for me. i figured it would be a cheap mod for a stealership to do on a new truck. i guess it shouldn't be too surprised. thoughts?
View 14 RepliesI just bought an 2015 F250 4x4 6.2L (gas) I am thinking about buying a programmer/tuner for it. I am planning on taking the truck pulling a 28' camper to Florida this summer. My goal is to get the most gas mileage I can out of the truck.

View 8 RepliesI purchased a new F250 with the Auxiliary Switches. I would like to use them for some LED lights, both front and rear. Where is the point that I can tap into to them? I found the fuses for them, but can not find the point where I can attach the wires.
View 7 RepliesI want to install a set of upfitter switches but my truck didn't come with them...so I bought the switches and the relay/wire harness as well...I cannot find any good information on where to mount the relay and where an extra plug on that harness goes too. I have found the wires that attach and go through the firewall but I am not sure where the rest of this mess goes...my truck did not come with the wire harness already installed...
View 4 RepliesWhere the blunt ends are for the Aux Switches. The manual says they are behind the passenger kick panel but I'll be danged if I can find them there. Are there none on the driver side?
View 9 RepliesI just got a 15 f250 with the console and nav system but it didn't come with the upfitter switches.
I picked these up and got a copy of the .pdf for the installation, but I'm finding it hard to follow for where the relay and box should install. I ran the wire up to the upfitter switch location and can even find a nice spot to connect the grounding wire.
I can't for the life of me figure out where the box installs and where the wiring harness taps into the main harness. Need a photo of where your box is installed and where it taps into the main harness?
How hard is it to install the upfitter switches and the fog lights? Is it all plug and play?
View 4 RepliesMy 2005 F250 just had the cab off in December for head studs and gaskets. Its a Crew Cab short bed FX4 so it has ESOF. When I engage 4x4 the blower will switch from blowing air out of the vents to blowing air out of the windshield defrost. Is a vacuum line plugged in wrong somewhere, or is one cracked? Trying to figure this out, its rather annoying
View 2 RepliesI have a 2010 F250 and wanted to power a dash camera using the upfitter switches. I purchased a 12volt wire, but am unsure on where to wire it so that it will only power up when the ignition is on..
View 7 RepliesOdd thing happened this evening, I took the truck for a short drive, rolled down the drivers power window, and then needed to turn on the map light, but realized it didn't work, same with the radio. The clock on the radio works, and now none of the window switches do anything.. I tested every fuse under the dash, even swapped around all of the relays that have the same part number, to no avail.. Is there something simple I'm missing that is a common problem with these trucks? I'd hate to have to leave my window down for awhile till I figure it out on my own..
View 14 RepliesI would like to do the high idle mod with my 2006 F-350 using the upfitter switches. I've seen a couple of threads about this but they are not real clear to me and don't mention the 2006.
View 14 RepliesMy 1999 F 250 5.4 liter. I know I have a vacuum leak because whenever I accelerate the air conditioning coming from the vents switches to the defroster. So my question is how do I go about finding the leak? My hubs in the front are manual so I know I don't have lines going up there. I do have some mechanical capabilities I've changed water pumps alternators brakes etc. But never anything with vacuum lines or a/c.
View 14 Replies2006 f350 DRW King Ranch diesel with 94,000 miles on it. When I shift in to 4x4 the AC switches to defrost and then takes 2 min to return to the vents. I imagine this is a vacuum leak issue. Where to start hunting? I pulled the dash for another install and all lines were connected. I will say the vacuum pump stays on longer than normal when the ignition is first activated.
View 1 RepliesMy truck didn't come with factory option aux switches. Can it be added, and is wiring present?
