Alright so, I've done a lot of research to come across a mirror motor and I found one, problem is I don't have the slightest clue on how to take the morror apart. It attempts to fold then stops. So, I kind of jumped the gun and tried to pop off the main mirror and I cracked it. How to disassemble the mirror.

A fellow ford driver (f150) pulled around a car on a residential street and clipped my mirror. His whole mirror as removed from his white beater truck. My mirror has the bottom plastic housing broken. Power fold and in/out and all glass movements work. How do i fix. Do the housing on the manual fold mirror with signal is the same as the power fold.
View 10 RepliesBackground: Some inconsiderate fellow manually collapsed my mirror for me and now it will not fully swing open. I can force it, but will not lock in the full open position. I'm sure the locking mechanism is jammed or worse broke, who knows.
I've removed the mirror from the vehicle but am not sure how to get to the inner motors without breaking something.
I whacked my passenger side mirror on my 2016 F-250.
It look like I got lucky and only broke the chrome "skull cap" and knocked the mirror out of it. The fold, telescope and power adjust all still seem to work fine.
I see Ford sells just the Skull Cap and the mirror as separate parts - a complete mirror assembly.
My first question is how does the mirror attach to the base? There are a couple holes in the gray colored base that tilts - does it clip/snap into those holes? There isn't any adhesive residue so I am confident it isn't glued on.
My second question is what is the plug on the bottom of the mirror for? It has a slot that a screwdriver can fit in and it pops off and there is a plug on the interior side - what is this and what is it for?
The mirror on the passenger side is not folding in/out anymore. It happened a few times before but only for a very brief period... it's now been 5 days... so I am thinking it's dead...

Is there a way to fold it without? Its almost like something is jammed which may be from the pounding the truck took over those roads.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2013 f250 6.2, I bought the truck brand new only have about 3000 miles on it and the other day I noticed that the drivers side front is lower then the passengers side front, the drivers side is about one inch lower, this doesn't seem right, also my drivers side front wheel seems to be pushed forward about one inch to the bumper that also doesn't seem right.
View 3 RepliesI've just purchased a 2013 F250 Lariat crew cab. In the car wash I had quite a bit of water coming our of the passenger handle on the a pillar. I've researched this site and all I've found is 3rd brake light, sunroof and the Sirius satellite antennae leaks. I don't think it could be any of those. I don't have a sunroof, the third brake light is in the back and the antennea is on the drivers side. I'm thinking window seal or passenger door weather seal.

View 4 RepliesThe Truck: 2008 F350 Super Duty, Lariat Crew Cab 6.4 Diesel, Off Road package with just under 90K.
The Noise: It sounds like a cross between Morse code ticking (No Morse code message. I thought of that) and the sound a styrofoam cup makes when it rubs against another cup. The noise is fairly loud. Noticeable at standard conversation speaking levels. Doesn't just go away once it starts.
The Apparent Location Of The Noise: Sounds like it's coming from just right of my center fold down cup holders between the driver and passenger sides of the dash.
Process Of Elimination: No set rule for when it starts to happen but it doesn't happen all the time. SEEMS like it happens after a longer trip.
Air conditioning on or off doesn't make it stop. Fan on or off doesn't change anything. Restarting truck at a stop light doesn't change anything.
Varying truck speed doesn't make a difference. Banging on the dash near the sound doesn't make a difference.
I have 1999 7.3, stock. I am getting oil to injectors on passenger side but none on drivers side.

View 13 Replies08 F-350 Lariat. Folded mirrors in twice today. Second time they would not come back out. After four hours the fold function has not returned. As I read Owner's Manual, if it's a fuse it should take out power to driver's seat . . . correct? All other mirror functions including telescope seem to work normally. So if I've identified the fuse correctly what else could it be? Fold relay? Switch? Where is the fold relay located and how can one test it? What pins on the switch are the fold pins? I just looked at power distribution box schematic. Power fold mirror relay fuse is there. Apparently the only function it has. Better go check it out.
