I got a 2013 f350 lariat long bed. Had a flat bed put on and now my check park assist is always on.. Dealer didn't install sensors. Is there any module or anything I can do to turn this thing off?
View 1 RepliesProblems with the Parking Assist/Reverse Sensing System. I have found the troubleshooting that everyone has done very useful. I have a 2007 F350 Lariat Crew Cab with problems with the Park Assist. Whenever I put it in reverse the system shuts off( Off Light illuminates). I have checked the wiring harness and all connections, Parking switch, and Reverse Sensors. I have done everything except check the Parking Assist Module. My maintenance DVD tells me that it is located behind the glove box. I cannot find it in there anywhere. Where it is located. The trucks manufacture date is June 2006....

I tried wiping all of the sensors clean, and I checked the electrical connections and all seem to be fine.
OK, I got the message, ran the tests, all is well. Now how do I clear the message? It's a 2013 F350 6.7PSD.
View 11 RepliesSo, I'm tired of this crap power steering. Since I just blew up my lpop on my 6 blow, apparently a thing with manual trans, replaced and she runs fine, I decided it is time to fix the screwed up worthless sloppy steering, and almost lack of any power steering at stop or slow drive. Picked up a rebuilt pump., and took out my old box with 220k.
I almost bought a cardone box, but frankly my input shaft had less play than 2 I ordered in. The only problem with my box is it has a tiny amount of play on the sectorshaft which translates to a lot of slop.
I've been looking into hydraulic ram assist steering, as I run 6" lift with 37s on a crew cab long bed. The thing has sucked at life since I bought it with wider 35s a few years back.
Is hydraulic assist worth it and if I go drop 500 on a redhead box, between this and the ram, am i going to be looking at decent steering on road in the future? I have no plans to offroad this boat anchor of a truck. I have a nice fun light 2 door turbo montero for that.
Do I do it, or just stick with a rebuilt box and pump?
I own a 2012 F350 dually King Ranch with 6,600 miles on it as of today. I noticed that on slight inclines, I can see and feel the hill start assist feature activating and working as before. I was not towing anything today. Starting today though, I hear this loud creaking noise both in forward and reverse directions with quite a bit of shutter from front of the truck lasting one to two seconds as I transition from the brake to accelerator. I checked the front hubs to make sure that they are not in locked position. I tried activating 4WD auto mode, then deactivate it to 2WD mode as I watched the diagram/figure on the dashboard. Nothing would make the loud creaking noise and shutter go away. Is there anything else I can try, or should I take it back to my Ford dealer again (now for another different reason. I had problem with injector #8 failure with CEL come on earlier this week which appears to be fixed for now)???

View 10 RepliesAll the sudden got home and now my truck wont go in park. All other gears are fine. My PRNDL on dash has always been off for the last 3 years park has always shown as reverse its never affected anything! I already checked the torq. bolts and that was not it. My shifter is very sloppy so is my steering wheel. I found a 00 whole steering column with wheel and shifter but its not a early 99 will it work or fix my no park. The guy didnt know if it would fit early 99 or my no park problem.
View 2 RepliesI have a 02 F350 V10 4x4. Tonight I went out to go to a friends house and the truck started fine but when I push in the brake it will not release the lock on the shifter. You can hear a click noise when you push in the brake pedal.
View 14 RepliesMy 2013 F-250 Super-Duty periodically won't start or come out of park. I have tried the ignition trick of tuning it to first position but with no luck. Sometimes I can see the light for the indicating light for being in park flashing on and off rapidly and manage to get it into neutral to start. It appears to be completely random. I potentially happens when I drive it for longer periods or do frequent stops around town.
View 3 RepliesMy 2002 f350 diesel recently started acting up, the first sign was when my park brake light came on and the chime came on. I mucked around with a few things but still wont go away, while I was doing this a buddy noticed i had no brake lights at all and under further inspection no signals either, not even the clicking noise you usually hear also the cruise control has stopped working as well as the little screen mounted to the roof near the rear view mirror. I am fairly clueless with electrics (I don't even own a multi meter) but i do want to figure this out, i have noticed that fuse 20 was burnt and after replacing it it pops pretty much right when i push my foot on the breaks or signal.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2013 f-350 with 58,000 miles. I'm a general contractor and drove my truck to a very nice home with decorative concrete. After I left the customers house they called my office to say I left oil stains on their driveway. I looked under the hood and noticed motor oil leaking on the front left side of the engine. I told the customer we will take care of the stain. I've never had a diesel motor leak this soon on me.
My mechanic told me to go to a Ford dealer so I did. The dealer told me that this is not covered under the warranty as it is a oil pump/brake vacuum. THE MOTOR IS LEAKING OIL. I told the dealer that the motor is leaking oil and I have a warranty that I signed up for. He told me that Ford considers this issue the same thing as an alternator.
I have a 2013 F350 king ranch with the 6.7. Radio will not turn on, no power at the radio, however navigation system is working. Could there be something miner causing this problem?
View 5 RepliesNew too my Ford, but anyway it's -10 Celsius. My trucks been idling for a few hours and probably will all day because of my job. Usually idles about 600rpm normally. So today the oil temp was about 80degrees Celsius. Then the truck idled up too about 1000rpm for a while. If I touch the gas it goes back to normal idle speed but then starts idling up again after 30 sec. What temp does the truck want too keep it at?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2013 F350 Crew Cab Long bed xl with 128000 miles on it. I just barely bought it from a small dealer and had a check engine light come on for the cats.(P0420 and 0430)
I have spoke with the dealer and he assured me that he would replace the cats. He stated he had O2 sensors replaced and thought he had fixed the problem. Not sure if he replaced all sensors or just the fronts.
He has been avoiding calls lately and will not return my messages. Anyways, My question is what should I be looking for to prevent future cats from going bad. I just ordered a bluetooth OBD 2 scanner and bought the Torque Pro App.
I am not new to working on trucks but they have all been 1995 and older and i am new to anything scanner wise and do not know what I should be monitoring. If I can't get this guy to replace the cats I want to monitor everything to make sure the cats are bad.
BTW, Fuel Mileage is at best 12.3 with an extremely light foot, Driving normal it drops off to about 11.8-12. Is this a normal MPG in these trucks? I have seen post about people getting close to 16 unloaded not smashing throttle?
On another note, I just remembered that my traction control light will come on with no wheel spin at times after starting the truck and driving away.
I've noticed that when I insert the key in my 2013 F250 I hear a humming noise, if I pull the key out it goes away. What is this noise? It seems to do it as long as the key is in, but is quiet enough that you can only hear it when there isn't a lot of back round noise.
View 14 RepliesI literally just purchased a "new" 06 F350 and have had it just over a month. I bought it from a used car place in Salt Lake City and have put roughly 250 miles on it, it has 105k on it. While having 1 sled in the bed and towing a 1-place snowmobile trailer up a 8% grade my check engine light lit up. Little back story, there was a slight hiccup that I started to realize it had about a few days after purchasing it, would kind of buck a few times under normal acceleration around to 40-60 mph not every time just occasionally. Been meaning to take it to a friend to have it looked at, just been fairly busy.
Now when I was driving it back home (~8-10 miles, almost exclusively downhill) at stop light and accelerating from 0mph it would not prime the boost, I was getting almost no power until I hit 2000 rpm then all of a sudden things were fine turbo would engage I was able to drive normally. It hasn't moved in 2 days as I will not drive it until I know what is wrong with it. In doing a little research I read about turbo veins being stuck open, ignition problems, and a few other things that might pertain to what is going on with my truck. I have a buddy coming in the morning tomorrow to pull some codes with a scanner so I will have more information here shortly but I just wanted to get the conversation started on this.
I have a 2006 350 6.0l check engine light came on today truck is running normal except the fuel gauge and mile to empty gauges keep changing when I turn the truck off. What this could be?

Where to start , check engine light is on. Nothing seems wrong , trucks running good , nothing happened , just the light. I kinda like the truck so I would like to find out what its issue is?
I have a 2013 f350 4x4 diesel. I bought used with 80,000km on it. Started getting a bad vibration in the steering wheel around 80km/h. went too ford and replaced the track bar ball joint and steering stabilizer. After that the truck drove perfect. The next day I went and put on my new rims and tires (used tires) 20" rims with 35x12.5 r20 amp m/t tires. They used beads too balance tires. I left the tire shop and the wobble was back, I went right back too the tire shop and they took the tires and rims off too inspect more and found that one tire had kind of a flat spot and uneven wear.
So they put it on the back as too take away a little bit of the vibration, idea is too wear down that bad tire till the flat spot is gone, when I'm driving it at highway speeds it wobbles a little bit and those goes away and then comes back every 20 seconds or so, will this go away or do I need too replace that tire, buddy of mine told me too do a little burnout and maybe even out the tire a little bit but amazingly that didn't work...or could something else be wrong? Factory tires were 275/65/r20 That I had on before. Also the worst vibration is at 80km an hour but like i said it comes and goes. Will it get better?
I have a 2013 f350 powerstroke, and the other day i climbed in it noticed that with the right turn signal on that it wasn't clicking through the speakers. Then noted that the arrow wasnt lighting on the dash either. But the lights were still working in the headlight and the tailight. but not the mirror, where to start.
