I have a 2012 F350 and the interior lights and cargo light do not turn on when I open my doors. The maps lights work if I manually turn them on. Why this happens and how to correct this issue?

View 8 RepliesI have a 2012 F250 and am having a problem where the interior lights wont come on with the dash switch or when the doors are opened. I have confirmed that it is not a bad fuse, also the lights will come on when the switch on the individual lights is manually pushed, but not automatically like they are supposed to. I dont see it being a door switch issue because the door chime comes on and the stereo goes off when the doors are opened after turning the ignition switch off. I've read that the dealerships will switch out the BCM. I thought maybe the dimmer switch next to the headlight switch but there is no power to it whatsoever, which also I can't dim the instrument panel lights. What did you do to resolve?
View 1 Replies07 f350 6.0 crew cab Truck thinks doors are closed when they're open and open when they're closed, just on the front 2 doors and keyless entry doesn't work and the key pad doesn't when you try to use the 2 right keys to lock the doors the back light will flick on and right back off, it'll work just fine to put the code in to lock the doors the back light on the keypad will stay lit up like it's supposed to.
The back lights only flicker when you push both 7-8 & 9-0 to lock the doors. When I bought the truck about 3weeks ago, the keyless entry worked but not the keypad so I kept pushing the buttons on the keypad till it started working but then the keyless hasn't worked since. Then the batteries died on the truck and I put new ones on and that's when I noticed the door sensors being backwards ..
I recently realized when showing a friend my 2012 Superduty c/c that the dome lights didn't come on. I tried all 4 doors and nothing. I am assuming that I may have unknowingly hit a switch. I thought that the only switch was in the door itself.

View 16 RepliesMy prob started with key in ignition warning alarm working with no key, then radio on off at will and interior light not working or delay not turning them off when door closed. Now all gauges and warning lights/alarms go out also. If I open door and key alarm is on all systems work at that moment and without touching truck alarm can stop at will, at that point ignition alarm, interior light, radio and gauges do not work. When I giggle key with truck running the door ajar alarm activates when system working!

View 10 RepliesI have a 1995 Dodge Caravan le which is in perfect condition throughout. But recently the interior lights stopped working when the doors are opened and when the keyless entry thing is activated. The overhead lights do work when manually pressed but the dashboard switch that is supposed to turn them on when in the far right position doesn't do anything. If I hold the drivers door open and push in the activation button on the door jam, I can hear the relay clicking but nothing happens. My mechanic said he thinks it might be a bad computer part and will replace it but didn't really want to. I can't find a fuse for the interior lights so don?
View 5 RepliesI have a 2011 F350 Lariat diesel crew cab. All of a sudden my remote start will not work, sometimes i can do it 5 times and it will finally but most of the time I just hear a lot of clicking noises in the engine like relays or something. Also when I exit my vehicle, if I use either the key fob or the outside keypad on the door to lock the vehicle, the stereo system turns on and stays on. When I open the door it shuts off. The only other thing that might be related is the other day when I put my windshield wipers on, the worked in super super slow-motion, stopped and then started again but at like 1/4 of the normal speed.
View 2 RepliesPurchased a new 2016 F250 Diesel. When you shut the truck off or open any door while the vehicle is parked, the interior, markers, and bed lights all come on. I know it is suppose to be a convenience but to me it is a pain. And to make matters worst, they remain on for a short period of time after you leave the truck and close the door. Sometimes you don't want the lights to come on, like when you shut the truck off and are waiting to pickup someone. Any solution for this problem, short of removing the bulbs, or reprograming the computer?
View 13 RepliesI'm not just reposting it though. I went ahead and sprayed all of the door switches with WD-40 multiple times, and the interior cab lights still come on. So, I'm assuming one of the switches in the doors is bad. Only thing is, I don't know how to figure out which door has a bad switch. Any way I could check this? Or it may be something other than a bad switch. It's annoying not having any interior lights (I took them all out to keep the battery from running down).
View 6 RepliesI have a 2006 F250 6.0L Crew Cab 4x4 that started acting up. It started two days ago when I noticed my windshield wipers were only working at one speed. Then today my wife took the truck to work and she said the radio stopped working on her way to work. Then she gets in this afternoon and the ABS light is on, the A/C isn't working, the windows are super slow and the interior lights are flickering. She isn't home yet so I haven't checked the fuse block. Where would you start looking?

View 1 RepliesJust got a 2001 F-250 Super Duty (crew cab, long bed, 4x4, 7.3L turbo diesel) and have been going through and fixing a lot of little issues. The one that now has me stumped is the interior lighting circuit (which is also the bed light). Here's what I've got so far:
Map/reading lights work, but dome lights do not (neither automatically nor when turning them on via the dimmer switch). Verified all fuses in the PDC as well as the interior fuse panel (behind the driver side knee panel). The interior lighting relay was missing, so I purchased and installed it.
Relay #1 (interior lighting), fuse #4, and fuse #14 are all good - when I pull the fuse with the door open, the relay clicks (and clicks again upon reinstalling the fuse). With the doors closed, the relay clicks when activating the interior lights via the dimmer switch.
The LT GRN/YEL wire is hot, and all related accessories work (map lights, engine bay light, etc).
The BLK/LT BLU wire is not receiving power from the relay from what I can tell.
Before I start trying to pull out the fuse panel to start checking connectivity, anything else to check? The ground at the rear driver corner of the cab is good, and a visual check of the harness running down the driver side of the cab has no visible signs of damage.
Also, given that the relay is audibly actuating the way it should, I'm guessing that the GEM can be ruled out as a possible cause? My next step will be to get a pinout diagram for the relay and crimp a quick jumper to see whether or not it's simply a defective relay... But I doubt it's the case.
Two nights ago I got into the truck at night and realized the interior lights don't come on. I tried the rocker switch it will only dim the dash gauges now. It did work before guessing its a bad rocker switch. I can turn them on manually front and back....

View 4 RepliesI bought a 2012 F250 6.2L 4wd recently, truck came from Canada, Noticed a sticky residue along button of doors, around hinges, inside front and side edges of hood, some of the goo is in the A/C coil, doesn't have much odor, maybe oil, comes off with degreaser, doesn't look like it came from engine as that is clean, could this be something they spray on the roads up there? Doesn't seem to harm anything just messy if you rub up against it?

I know that they flash when you lock the doors (hitting the button twice) but curious at to whether you can make them flash when you unlock (rather than just the interior light coming on).
