I recently realized when showing a friend my 2012 Superduty c/c that the dome lights didn't come on. I tried all 4 doors and nothing. I am assuming that I may have unknowingly hit a switch. I thought that the only switch was in the door itself.
View 2 RepliesI just bought a 2012 Ford 4x4 F250 6.2 gas, when I get out of the truck the dome light/cargo light stay on for 9 to 10 minutes before they go out, someone said to spray the door latches and this should clear up, I have tried that and the lights do still stay on, there is an error code of left rear door ajar, my guess is something/sensor or switch has to be replaced, wondering what it takes for replacement/repair of the switch

View 2 RepliesI can't find any where in the owners manual on how to get the lights to turn off after the doors shut with the engine off. They stay on for a good minute after I shut the doors.
View 14 RepliesDome lights staying on due to the door sensors, and the WD40 fix to cure it. Well mine has taken it a step further now. My truck won't recognize the closing OR opening of the driver door, and the driver door only. Naturally I tried the WD40 soak but it's been a few weeks now with no change.
View 6 RepliesI would like to add an LED light to each running board and tie it in with the dome light wiring so that when the door(s) are opened it will come on with the dome light and light up the factory running board. Any info on where a good place to splice into the wiring, and will the wiring be able to handle a couple extra lights?

I have a 2001 f-250 that has dome lights that work on occasion. Mostly don't work. The inside dash dimmer won't turn them on. And they will sometimes work with the rear doors opening. Not the front(4 doors). The cargo light comes on all the time. So I don't know where to start chasing.
View 9 RepliesInterior lights will not turn off when parked. Probably related to this I commonly, but not always, get a door ajar indicator on the dash. But usually this is all temporary. And usually if i lock the truck with the fob, they shut off.Tonight the interior lights, as well as the bed light, stayed on. I looked at fuses to pull, but of all the fuses and relays, not one is listed as "interior lights" . So I disconnected the batteries and figure I'll tackle it tomorrow. 2003 F350 Lariat....
View 6 RepliesAnd now for something completely different....This just started, Close either door and the dome light and cargo light stay on much longer than they used to. Timed it and they do finally go off after about 1/2 an hour. Everything else seems to be functioning ok. I searched the forums and didn't come across anything the same, however I got the impression that there is some kind of solenoid/switch that controls this function. 2002 f250 XL 4x4 Regular cab.

I have a 2012 F-250...per DOT specs, the fog lights go out with hi-beams on. However, in my opinion, the high beams on my truck are among the worst I've seen. Low beams are OK. Is there some easy mod to keep the fogs on with the brights?

My truck is a 2012 f250 XLT that I bought left over from a podunk town IN illinois. It does not have fog lights but it Does have automatic head lamps. So Im very confused on what kit to order to add fog lights to my truck.
Have a 2012 350 cclb 4x4 6.7 lariat, interior lights don't work. Not with any door open, Not with switch. map lights work. We've checked every fuse in cab and under hood. What to check now ?

View 14 Replies2012 f250, fog lights stopped working and tried fixing yesterday. I'm getting 12.8v at the plug but as soon as you plug the light in it goes to 0. Ran a new ground from frame and the hot from plug and still nothing. High beams off, truck running and switch pulled out. Bulb is fine, hooked it straight to battery and it comes on. I though it was a faulty ground but by running a separate ground and still nothing. I'm at a lose.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2012 F250 and am having a problem where the interior lights wont come on with the dash switch or when the doors are opened. I have confirmed that it is not a bad fuse, also the lights will come on when the switch on the individual lights is manually pushed, but not automatically like they are supposed to. I dont see it being a door switch issue because the door chime comes on and the stereo goes off when the doors are opened after turning the ignition switch off. I've read that the dealerships will switch out the BCM. I thought maybe the dimmer switch next to the headlight switch but there is no power to it whatsoever, which also I can't dim the instrument panel lights. What did you do to resolve?
View 1 RepliesEver since I bought this vehicle, the dashboard lights won't light up unless it is totally dark out. For example, yesterday I am driving in heavy rain during daytime (but pretty dark out!) and Autolamp turns on the headlights...but none of the dash lights! I always thought the dash lights should be on if the headlamps are on. Sometimes just the needles light up. How do I know if my lights are actually on if no dash lights are on?
View 14 RepliesI've been noticing a grinding coming from the front end of my 2012 f250 4x4, mostly while turning. It seems like its worse over uneven terrain, bumpy dirt roads, things like that, but I have noticed it on occasion while on seemingly smooth roads. Also a couple times while turning and lightly braking I could feel it interfere with the brakes. They wouldn't grab completely and you could feel the grinding in the pedal. I've been crawling around looking for rub marks or any indication of what might be causing it but until recently I hadn't noticed anything. Today though I found this. I'm guessing bad ball joint or tie rod maybe? Maybe just need alignment?

View 6 RepliesI have a 99 ext cab with a 7.3. My dome and cargo lights only come on when I use the key fob to unlock the doors or when I first shut the truck off. They do not work with the dash switch or when a door opens while the truck is on. Also the doors will lock automatically when I turn the key on even when open, which it has not done before. I don't think the door switches are bad because the door ajar light only comes on when one of the doors are open and it goes off when the doors close. Here is what I have done so far. Sprayed doors with wd-40, Checked all fuses including #14. put a new relay in spot #1 in the fuse box. I am thinking either the gem or the vsm, but I'm not sure how to check either one of those or which one would be controlling that particular function.
