I've got a 2012 XLT that I would like to add remote start to because I'm tired of getting into a truck that feels like a freaking oven.

Are there any aftermarket systems I should be considering?
I used to own a fleet of school buses and I had remote trans filter on all of them. I'd change the filter about every 10K and felt like it really extended my trans life on Allisons. I wanted to put on my SD, so, I had a spare filter block with a 20psi bypass valve, and I used it. Worked out real well mounted to the radiator support, up front--easy access. uses a NAPA 1268 filter. In the picture it looks like the hoses are real close to the AC condenser, but in real life, the are three inches from it.
View 2 RepliesI can't seem to get my heated seats to come on when I use the remote start. Is this possible? I assume the supplemental heater comes on behind the scenes. Is there a temperature differential between the climate setting and the outside temperature? If so what is the delta? If it's 40 degrees outside and my climate is set at 60 degrees...will the supplemental heater come on? How about the rear window defroster and heated seats, can I make them come on when remote started? Same question for the seat cooling...in a few months.

I read in a thread about how fog lights need the auto light sensor or something in the kit to be installed and flashed.
My truck is a 2012 f250 XLT that I bought left over from a podunk town IN illinois. It does not have fog lights but it Does have automatic head lamps. So Im very confused on what kit to order to add fog lights to my truck.
The latest addition to the driveway (2012 F250 XL 6.2) is getting ready to be geared up for it's tour of duty. The one thing that was on the would-be-nice but not must-have list was cruise control. This truck doesn't have it, which wasn't a deal breaker because the truck was way inside my budget.
So anyways, while researching hitches, tonneau covers, steps, etc. I came across this : [URL] ....
Is this all I need to install the speed control? I would assume the dealer would have to get into the logic and enable something, but is this switch really all the hardware I need to buy?

I bought a 2016 F-250 Lariat, Crew Cab, Short Bed, 4X4, 6.2 a couple weeks ago. One thing I had to have was remote start. My truck was not manufactured with remote start so the dealer installed the Ford 1 way remote start system. The system works fine however the air conditioning fan runs on the lowest speed when remote starting until I put my key in the ignition at which time it reverts back to wherever it was set when I shut the truck down. The whole point of the remote start for me is to get a head start on the truck cooling off but with the fan on low when remote starting it defeats the purpose. How I can change the setting so that when I remote start the fan runs on high? Dealer is clueless and the settings in the truck only allow to turn the system on and off and run time duration.

If it is in fact something that I can utilize I have seen guys on youtube program their fob to do it by clicking three times.

View 6 RepliesI have a factory remote start. Not sure if I have an issue or not but at what point does the fan come on automatically to clear the windshield? It was -9C this morning and when I went out after about 5 minutes there really wasn't any air coming out of the vents.
Does the truck have to warm up to a certain temperature before it starts to blow air to clear the windshield? Doesn't tell me much in the manual.
2011 SD 6.7 with factory remote start will start normally when the temperatures are above 20F or the vehicle is warmed up. If the temperature is near or below O F and the vehicle is cold soaked for 12 hours the remote start fails to work. Push the lock button and the lights flash, push remote start twice and the lights flash once and nothing happens. Subsequently can manually start vehicle with key without any delay or problems. Once vehicle is warmed up can remote start normally. Only recently have the temps been low enough in the area to experience this problem which has repeated 3 times. Unable to find any troubleshooting in the service manual for this.

The red light is lit when I push the button, the doors lock and you can hear something engage in the engine but it does not crank it. If I keep holding the button the alarm starts to go off. When I walk up to truck the radio is on and I need to hit the remote start button to shut everything down before manually staring.

Having read a bunch of different posts it sounds like the climate control would be set to automatic which i would like to have it just use were i set my controls. Problem is i do not have any options on the instrument cluster for climate control and no auto button the the heater controls themselves. I would think that means i do not have automatic climate control but it is doing it. How to turn it off?
View 6 RepliesJust this morning I tried to remote start my '13 F250 6.7 and all i got was the doors lock and a two honks. The two honks are usually when there is a door left open when you click the lock button two times but all of my doors were locked. After I started the truck with the key and took it out to go run a errand I noticed the check engine light turned on. Could this be connected or just a coincidence?
View 4 RepliesMy remote start just decided to stop working. I did notice 3 days ago the horn beeped a few times when I started it with the key. Since then if I try to start it I get 6 beeps when it should have started. and the red light flashes twice continuously.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2011 F350 Lariat diesel crew cab. All of a sudden my remote start will not work, sometimes i can do it 5 times and it will finally but most of the time I just hear a lot of clicking noises in the engine like relays or something. Also when I exit my vehicle, if I use either the key fob or the outside keypad on the door to lock the vehicle, the stereo system turns on and stays on. When I open the door it shuts off. The only other thing that might be related is the other day when I put my windshield wipers on, the worked in super super slow-motion, stopped and then started again but at like 1/4 of the normal speed.

I have found a few used sets but then realized I have the tire pressure sensors on my truck. If I pick up a set, do I have to get ones with the sensors? Can sensors be added to the tire shop? I just really have no intel on this subject!
