How hard is it to install the upfitter switches and the fog lights? Is it all plug and play?

View 4 RepliesI just got a 15 f250 with the console and nav system but it didn't come with the upfitter switches.
I picked these up and got a copy of the .pdf for the installation, but I'm finding it hard to follow for where the relay and box should install. I ran the wire up to the upfitter switch location and can even find a nice spot to connect the grounding wire.
I can't for the life of me figure out where the box installs and where the wiring harness taps into the main harness. Need a photo of where your box is installed and where it taps into the main harness?
I want to install a set of upfitter switches but my truck didn't come with them...so I bought the switches and the relay/wire harness as well...I cannot find any good information on where to mount the relay and where an extra plug on that harness goes too. I have found the wires that attach and go through the firewall but I am not sure where the rest of this mess goes...my truck did not come with the wire harness already installed...
View 4 RepliesI have a 2010 F250 and wanted to power a dash camera using the upfitter switches. I purchased a 12volt wire, but am unsure on where to wire it so that it will only power up when the ignition is on..
View 7 RepliesI would like to do the high idle mod with my 2006 F-350 using the upfitter switches. I've seen a couple of threads about this but they are not real clear to me and don't mention the 2006.
View 14 RepliesSure would be convenient when hauling the 5er.
View 14 RepliesI currently have Aux2 hooked up to my on-board compressor and it works like a charm...so I'd like to think I know how the wiring works for the upfitters haha.
This weekend I installed an electronic solenoid valve for my slip-tank so I can fuel up on the go. The valve is 110V AC and had two wiring leads of the same color so I assumed either/or could be used for power and the other for ground. I wired it all up running a power lead from Aux3 back to the valve and grounded the other wire to the body. To my surprise...no power! Can a 110V AC valve not be used in this application or is my wiring simply messed up/not making contact?
I've checked the fuses, the lights are on on the switches, but I have no power at the wires under the hood. I'm adding lights and would like to use those switches..
View 2 RepliesRecently purchased a 2013 F350 w/upfitters. Figured Ford would have made access to the stubs easier by now (previous was an 05 6.0 ) and of course not. A bit more challenging. What parts of the dash do I attack and how. As the dealer is willing to charge only 40 bucks to connect any wires I run to the vicinity, I figure there's a slam dunk sequence for access.
View 7 RepliesThis has been beaten to death but all the old threads I read are for 2011 to present SDs so I wanted to make sure I can add these to my 2008 before I spend $ on the switches. Anything I should look out for on the install? Once they are installed I would like to add front and rear strobes along with a roof light for plowing.
View 3 RepliesI have the ford upfitter switches in my 07 f350 and i had two flashing lights wired to switch 4 (10 amps) for snow plowing. The lights were LED and shouldn't have drawn much power but suddenly the lights stopped working because thers no power going to the fourth switch. They work on all the other switches. What could be the problem?
View 5 RepliesI am putting work lights and LED warning lights on the back rack of the 2014 F350 diesel in work. Where are the wires for the upfitter switches, and are they prewired into the fuse box, or do i have to hook them up?
View 7 RepliesI purchased a new F250 with the Auxiliary Switches. I would like to use them for some LED lights, both front and rear. Where is the point that I can tap into to them? I found the fuses for them, but can not find the point where I can attach the wires.
View 7 RepliesI left town tonight and dad called to say I had no tail lights. I stopped and checked the book to see where the fuse is and couldn't find anything for the tail lights or parking lamps. I have brake lights, both rear turn signals and the tail lights blink when you lock it with the fob. The trailer socket shows I have trailer tail/marker working. Why don't my tail lights work?
View 14 Repliesall lights work except parking lights/tail lights. have blue lights under trk had to cut wire by COPS when got dark had no tail light cut wire had shorted taped off changed fuse 15 amp slot 30 10 amp slot 40 still no tail lights. Is their a relay or module before fuse box or after or what could be wrong
View 4 RepliesI just bought a 2014 F-250 with out upfitter switches, how hard it would be to add them now? and if the wiring is there?
View 7 RepliesWhere the blunt ends are for the Aux Switches. The manual says they are behind the passenger kick panel but I'll be danged if I can find them there. Are there none on the driver side?
View 9 RepliesMy 2005 F250 just had the cab off in December for head studs and gaskets. Its a Crew Cab short bed FX4 so it has ESOF. When I engage 4x4 the blower will switch from blowing air out of the vents to blowing air out of the windshield defrost. Is a vacuum line plugged in wrong somewhere, or is one cracked? Trying to figure this out, its rather annoying
View 2 RepliesI screwed up installing LED taillight assemblies in my 2011 SuperDuty and pinched a couple of wires against the body. The result of this (at least I think that this cause) is that my backup lights no longer work - neither the backup lights in the tail light assembly nor the reverse light power on the trailer plug. I have checked the fuses, etc. and nothing. I brought it to a local shop and they could not figure out the problem, either, but said that it was probably the "control module" that got fried when the wires got pinched. They said to take it to the dealer. The questions are, what "control module" might they be referring to, or what to check?
View 1 RepliesTwo nights ago I got into the truck at night and realized the interior lights don't come on. I tried the rocker switch it will only dim the dash gauges now. It did work before guessing its a bad rocker switch. I can turn them on manually front and back....
View 5 RepliesMy 2011 F250 has no front or rear running lights working, mirror side marker lights not working and fog lights not working. I have checked all fuses including 30amp trailer light fuse and they are good. The fuses in the passenger kick panel are not getting energized.
I replaced the switch with a friends from same truck and no luck there. The headlights, dash lights and turn signals work fine. Here's the kicker, when I back feed 12V to the yellow/blue wire at front running light it turns them all on, including mirror lights. I've switched out relays in the box under hood and that didn't work.
When I pull the switch on dash to turn on the fog lights the indicator in the switch doesn't work either, they are both listed on the same fuse but as I said, the fuses have continuity across the blades but when I test the socket there is no voltage going to them. I have not connected a trailer to see if those are out yet but will do today.
