I just bought a 2010 SD for my new hunting truck and the radio light doesn't work. Is there a setting on the radio to shut off the light? I don't have a manual and the menu button is of course dark? the radio works but you can't see any time of channel, and the dimmer of the interior lights doesn't change a thing.

View 2 RepliesI've got a 2012 F250 XLT with AM/FM/CD/AUX radio, and the display is not working. The radio functions fine, as do all other electronics on the truck, but the display is dark. I've tried pulling Fuse #29 in the passenger kick panel, and it looked fine. Is my radio toast?
View 3 RepliesThey problem I have is when I am driving and the headlights are on my odometer and radio display is extremely dim. When this first happened I thought the displays were completely off until it got darker outside. It only happens when it is dark enough for the auto headlight feature to function.
When it is bright outside I can turn the between off, headlights on and auto and the displays are still bright. When it darkens outside the only way I can have the displays lit up to where I can read them is to turn my lights to off.
I have tried adjusting the dash dimmer switch, checked fuses and looked over the wiring but cannot find the fault.
It is a 2011 6.7L F250.
My overhead display quit working earlier this week. The truck has 120k miles. Is this display on it's own fuse? I only used it for the outside temperature readout but I would really like to get it working again.
View 3 RepliesI took my truck in for Maryland State inspection on Monday and got my truck back and the radio no longer works. I checked the fuse on both the back of the radio and the main fuse box and both fuses are still intact. I'm not really sure where to go from here. Any recommendations?

Ok...I hadn't driven my SD for over a week...maybe like 7 days. Get in...and turn the key to the 'On' position. Wait for the computer to cycle on (I just like to hear it)...and then fire up the V10. It's a HOT day...so I try and open the electric windows, but nothing happens. Then...I notice the radio is not on either. What the heck??? Ok...about 30sec or 1min passes and the windows are now working and the stereo is on. Some kind of weird time delay...???
So...here is the catch of it all. I drive to the local hardware store and all seems fine. Do my business in the store...and jump back into my SD. Fire it up...and everything is working. The windows or radio did not have that "time delay". Now...I am really confused.
My truck is a 2011 F-250 6.7L. It's at 91,000 miles, and I have the PremiumCare extended warranty.
About 3 weeks ago (1,000 miles ago) I took my truck in for an A/C problem. The A/C quit blowing cold air. They diagnosed the problem as something inside the dashboard was broken and they needed to completely remove the dashboard to fix it. The repair worked, A/C was back, and I was good to go.
Last week my Satellite Radio and Navigation stopped working. I was getting a "NO GPS" message on the navigation screen and an error on the Satellite Radio screen saying something to the extent of there was no connection with the satellite antenna. I wasn't sure if something failed or if the dealership screwed something up during the A/C repair.
I booked an appointment and took my truck into the dealer that's 50 miles away from my house. The dealer took the truck, put me in a rental, and I came home. As soon as I got home I got a phone call from the dealer saying a cable had to be replaced and they were taking care of the parts and labor. When I asked him what caused this cable to fail (was it a defect, or was it damaged during the A/C repair), he said he didn't know. But, I'd need to pay for the rental car for the day and that they would make me another appointment to do the installation. At that point I asked the service adviser to have their manager call me ASAP. Two hours later I still haven't gotten a call.
Am I wrong to think that it's not fair that I pay for this rental car? My thinking is if it's defective it should be replaced and I should be put in a rental in the meantime. I paid additional for the rental car coverage to include any repairs and the first day of the repairs... but If it's the dealer's screw up, they should be bending over backwards trying to correct the issue and at least pay for the rental car for the day...
I just bought this truck and for some reason sometimes the power windows and radio will not work for awhile then it will start working. I replaced the relay on the accessory and I still have power to the dome lights and instrument cluster. I am kind of at a stand still on this matter. I have read that there is quit a few problems like this and not very many explanations to resolve it.
View 5 RepliesFunny thing - had the truck in the body shop for several weeks and when it went in, everything worked. Got it back, and some of the radio buttons don't work. These are rocker style buttons, and when I push the AM (left side) that works. Press FM, and it won't go to FM. Press the right side of the tuning button, and it won't go up the dial. Press the left side, and it will go down. Same for cd. Left side of button goes backward through the tracks, but right side won't advance. Bass/treble button: Press bass (left side) and that works. Press treble (right side), and nothing.
View 2 RepliesHave a F350 V10 super duty the power windows intermittently stop working along with the radio. I have replaced the acc relay key switch under a recommendation. I looked over the fuse panel under the dash for corrosion. Still can't find problem. It was worse this past summer than this winter. When it goes bad after driving 30 miles it will start working.

I have been researching for months trying not to take to dealer. Have used elec. connection spray to clean most plug connections. New battery. Cable to battery connections very clean.
I have a 2009 F 250 5.4L, couple days ago it acted as if the alternator had gone out and killed the battery. I swapped batteries with a coworker to get the truck home and when I hooked the battery back up, the battery and the alternator both tested fine. I've put the voltmeter on periodically and everything seems to be fine and all electronics are working except for the radio. I did a light test on the fuse and it showed a bad fuse so I tested the fuse and it tested fine and I put a new fuse in and tried the light test again and it failed. What the problem could be?

Is this some kind of wiring problem or where to start looking..or what might be my problem... I am clueless when it comes to wiring .
View 3 RepliesMy prob started with key in ignition warning alarm working with no key, then radio on off at will and interior light not working or delay not turning them off when door closed. Now all gauges and warning lights/alarms go out also. If I open door and key alarm is on all systems work at that moment and without touching truck alarm can stop at will, at that point ignition alarm, interior light, radio and gauges do not work. When I giggle key with truck running the door ajar alarm activates when system working!
View 4 RepliesOdd thing happened this evening, I took the truck for a short drive, rolled down the drivers power window, and then needed to turn on the map light, but realized it didn't work, same with the radio. The clock on the radio works, and now none of the window switches do anything.. I tested every fuse under the dash, even swapped around all of the relays that have the same part number, to no avail.. Is there something simple I'm missing that is a common problem with these trucks? I'd hate to have to leave my window down for awhile till I figure it out on my own..
View 14 RepliesI have a 2003 Ford F-450 with the 7.3 Powerstroke. The problem I am having is the dome light stays on, the map lights will not turn on, I have no door ding with the key in the ignition, and the radio wont turn on. If I press the clock button on the radio the clock comes on but the radio will not come on when I press the power button. What it may be? I already hosed the door latches with lubricant and that changed nothing. I checked all the fuses they are good.
View 2 RepliesTruck '02 F250 SuperCab - I was having an issue with the door ajar light staying on and the radio not shutting off upon exiting the truck. After having no luck with the WD-40 fix, I replaced the door switch sensor on the driver's side door and disconnected the negative battery cable for a few minutes (maybe 5-10).
Problem solved or so I thought...a few days later (approximately 5) the door ajar light came back on and the radio did not shut off. I disconnected the negative cable and sure enough that fixed it...again The problem is that every few days I have to go thru this. I'm not sure if it's related or not, but the CD player has started giving me "error reading disc" on even brand new CD's.
03 f 250 super duty, my battery light came on and when I accelerate my dash gauges shut down and radio turns off, if I idle or stay under twenty MPH, everything works fine. Battery and alternator test good, lights never dim, any thoughts
View 4 RepliesMy 2002 F250 Crew/Diesel/4X4/lariat has ever since I bought it, had an electronic problem.. sometimes I start it, the heat coil light stays on, sometimes the radio won't work, the windows won't work.. then about 2 minutes later, they work, my back up alarm always comes on turned off... sometimes my fuel gauge registers weird, ....
