Driving my new to me 2010 Super Duty this morning in the dark and noticed that the mirror controls are not illuminated. Is this normal or are they suppose to have illumination?

View 4 RepliesMy 02 F-350, running lights and fog lights work fine but when I switch to headlights everything goes dark. Neither high beams or low beams work. Checked the light switch and its fine. Haven't found any blown fuses and headlight bulbs look fine.
View 1 RepliesThe battery light is on on the dash. I checked both batteries with the ground wire removed, and they show 12.85 and 12.84 volts, they are clean and not in need of water. The battery light will go out after around 15 minutes on the highway, but not around town, and if I shut off the truck in town, the next start is at a very reduced amperage. Alternator packing it in?

View 1 RepliesI have an issue with my 2008 f250 6.4 where the gauge cluster is dark and truck won't crank. The only light on the dash is the airbag light. I have tried reprogamming with my Spartan tuner, checked fuses, removed aftermarket alarm, charged batteries. I scanned and got two codes. P1260 theft detected and a u code no comm with cluster.
View 7 Replies2004, cc/lb 6.0 ... I get in the truck and the dome lights come on, key the ignition and they stay on though they should go off, start truck and they still stay on until I reach 5 mph. Door ajar light is illuminated on the dash. If the truck is off and I open the drivers door, the domes will come on, they will not come on if I open the other three doors. I just replaced the switch on the drivers door and no change.
I held the trip button and started the engine. I kept tapping the button until "door 40" came up. When I opened the drivers door it would change from 40 to CO. When I opened the other doors, it would stay at 40.
I did notice that once I had the drivers door open and completely off the latch and my hands off the door handle, I would move the door and it would then change from 40 to CO. At this point the latch switch is out of the picture. So if i move the door slightly open/close it would switch from 40 to CO when the door is nearly closed. Is there another switch or sensor somewhere near the hinges?
So we had a subzero weather week last week and on one of the below zero days by low tire pressure light goes on - on my dash. I've checked all 4 tires and they are not low. Do I have a bad sensor? Or is the cold causing this?
View 14 RepliesDrove to work had no issues, went to leave & noticed that the dash lights didn't light as normal when I turned the key over, then tried to start but it just cranked, checked the fuses all good under the dash & hood.

It is dark between 5 o'clock on the speedo and 8 o'clock on the tach.
Where are the dash lights and what type are they?
When my hvac controls are turned to hot, I'm getting only luke warm air. When moved over to cold it feels like the a/c is on...granted it is 21 degrees here. What I've done so far:
1. Flushed the coolant system at the local COOP TBA
2. Flushed heater core-Both heater hoses are hot to the touch as well as the heater core itself. The hoses are within 10 degrees of each other tested by an infrared temp gauge.
3. Verified the blend door actuator is moving. I can see it spin while attached to the box as well as I pulled it out and plugged it in it will move from hot to cold.
4. Smacked the #$%! out of the blend door box.
The fan still functions as it should from low to high. The truck also gets up to operating temp as usual.
Is it possible the actuator is still faulty even though it moves and not going all the way to the heat side? I considered picking up a replacement but I hate to start throwing parts at it.
Did the blend door give up? The snow is here and I need the heat for those 4am waterfowl hunting trips.
So I just got my 2014, upgraded from a 2007, and one change that is bugging me is the steering wheel controls for the radio. In the old truck clicking the scan up/down buttons scanned to the next radio station, in the new truck it scans through the preset radio stations. I really don't like that. Can it be changed or am I stuck with it?
View 2 RepliesI just purchased a donor wheel from ebay... it was the right price, and I'll turn around and sell the shell and the switches when I pull the wires out.
I'm looking forward to the wheel getting here. I expect to be able to swap the wiring harness inside the wheel and then be able to add the redundant audio control switches. This should leave me with the impossible setup of having a black vinyl wheel with cruise and audio controls.
Ordered a 2015 f350 CCLB FX4 XLT 6.2 about 2 weeks ago.Tried to see if the control buttons on the steering wheel were lighted couldnt tell in the daylight.

The mirror defrost comes on with the rear window defrost, my question here is does the defrost image on the mirror light up when on?
sitting at a redlight with radio off, sounds like heater door or something under the dash is moving. Thing is, all the controls for heater and a/c were off.

I have a 2005 f350 lariat 6.0. My horn, cruise volume, heat and fan controls on the wheel are not working. The airbag light isn't on. I am thinking that it's the clock spring. The stereo controls were intermittent for a while so I think it's the clock spring. I just want to be sure. Anything I could check?

View 3 RepliesMy 2000 F-350 SD 4X4 V-10 has no cruise control, and the A/C controls are not powered. Is it possible that both these power option circuits are run through a fuse link, and better yet, through the same fuse link? A/C has been troublesome in the past, but the cruise quit one day without warning. All fuses are good. Tried jumping the A/C pressure switch to recharge it, but no power is present.
View 4 RepliesIn the last 15k miles, I've replaced the led lights on my driver side mirror twice already, and come to see this morning: they are out again. The turn signal LEDs still work, but the parking lights don't work anymore. Passenger side is fine.
View 3 RepliesSo both the mirrors on my new truck are cracked. Driver side got hit, and the passenger side just doesn't respond, might just be a power thing. Anyways I'm wondering if there is any hassle to switch to a different style of superduty mirror? The 08 ones are really nice, if I can find a set for a decent price. Mine are just the basic ones, they look like half ton mirrors. I'm pretty sure they would just bolt in, and wiring really is no issue for me either. Just wondering if would encounter anything that might be an issue.
