Have a 2008 F-450 that I just got and the trailer light outlet does not work. There is constant power to one pin and nothing on the tail/turn/stop pins. I have checked all of the fuses and relays and they seem to been fine. And yes, I did a search and did not come up with anything.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2014 F 450 and today one of my trailers will not engaged the brakes and it is saying on the display that there is no trailer connected. I cannot engage the brakes manually with switch.
I have running lights, I have brake lights I have hazards lights and turn signals. The brakeaway switch is not engaging the brakes when removed, I hooked up to another trailer of mine and it recognized and acknowledged being hooked to a trailer.
So... I know it is something with the trailer but what wire I should be looking at on the trailer?
I replaced all the exterior bulbs in my 2013 F250 6.7L with LED bulbs. My trailer lights work but brake and signals don't work on the trailer.

Did it the same as every tailgate Ive taken off in the last 20 years...........it wouldn't come.
Is there a trick to it?
Went to hook up my trailer today and both the trailer plugs do not work. I checked the fuses and all is well. They worked fine the other day but now they don't work at all. I confirmed this by hooking up to another trailer and nothing. Also got another truck and went to trailers and it worked.
My truck has 19000 miles so it's practically new. I have never seen this. I called dealer but they can't see it til next week and I need the trailer brakes and lights. Where could I look or what could the problem be?
I have an 05 f350. I cannot get trailer running lights to work. All other lights work. Trailer brakes work, battery charge for dump trailer. I've checked fuses under dash and under hood. Everything checks out. I'm Stumped.

I tested all the blend door positions and they seem to work.....noise normal or not? Never heard it before today......

View 7 RepliesI have an 08 F350 regular cab 4X4 that the cargo light doesn't work, Is this powered from the interior light like the old ones? or does it get its power from the GEM module? If it comes from the GEM is it possible to feed it like the old ones from the interior dome light without killing something? I really miss having a cargo light.
View 3 RepliesDriving the truck today I noticed mssg from info on dash " problem with trailer wiring". I wasn't hauling anything. the message went away on my next stop when a truck was turned off. On my next stop, I was pulling into a parking space truck stalled and I saw another message saying something like " please pull over safely and stop a truck." Luckily I was already parked. the truck would not start or even turn over. after about an hour truck started but brake symbol was on the dash.
View 10 RepliesOur F-450 with 102000 miles lost both turbos also broken exhaust manifold bolts. This truck carries tools fuel tank and sometimes skid loader on trailer. Heard lots of bad things about 6.4 liter motor now first hand experience. Asked dealer if 6500.00 bill could be reduced since so close to 100000 mile warranty and was told nothing could be done. Can not afford to sell truck now also have two other Ford F-250s newest one 2012. Is there any other approach that could be taken to get some relief from this expense.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2000 ford f450 with the 7.3. the truck sat for about three month and now it won't turn over. When I put the key in to start it only the airbag light and abs light up. when i got to turn it over I can hear the starter just click but the engine wont crank. I have checked the batteries and the starter and they are all good. i have also checked the shiftier position sensor on the tranny and it fine.
View 5 RepliesOverdrive light started flashing this week on my 2000 F450 7.3 mason dump. It only does it when it shifts into 4th gear once it hits that gear at about 35mph the overdrive light flashes until you restart the truck and it resets. Does the same thing all the time but DOESN'T flash if i'm driving around town on back roads and never get to that gear. Could this be something minor besides the transmission starting to go? It drives and shifts fine even when the light is flashing. I wait to get the error code read?

I was hauling a car the other day and all of a sudden all these lights and faults came on then my speedo quit working and also the odo don't calculate mileage. I changed the speed sensor at the top of the rear end and still nothing. Cruise control also don't work..
View 14 RepliesI got a 08 ford f450 sd in the shop with a cracked abd broken bolt in the driver's side exhaust manifold, any tips tricks on getting it out,I have everything loose but I can't for the life of me get the egr cooler out of the way to access the top bolts to the manifold so I can replace the manifold, or a link to a service manual would be great.
View 3 RepliesOD light flashes on my 2000 F450 7.3 but still runs and drives shifts fine. If i turn o/d off before i get going then it won't throw the code and start flashing at all. I am going to check the harness again to see if there are any bad wires. If not is it usually a bad solenoid pack i can just swap it out and fix the problem? I have to replace the pan soon so when I do if I need to replace the pack I'd like to do it then.
View 4 RepliesA week ago last Saturday I bought a 2006 F250 Lariat Crew Cab with the 6.0 and 4WD. The truck is really clean and only has 68,000 miles on it. Here's my question: I needed to tow a boat today and I discovered I have no power, at all, at the trailer light plug receptacle. Nothing at the 7-pin nor the flat-4. I looked through the manual and checked every fuse that had the word trailer associated with it and I can also feel the turn signal relays clicking with the flashers on.
Am I missing something really simple or do I just need to follow the wire harness from the back and look for something that is not connected? It seems kind of weird for it to be just....dead.
The pigtail from my bumper mounted 7-pin to the factory connector is all hacked up from the previous owner so I'm looking to replace that pigtail. Also wondering if there should be 2 connectors down there to add a connector for my gooseneck or do I need to splice another universal 7-pin into the bumper light pigtail? Also, is there another (preferably slightly cheaper) option besides e-trailer for such a connector?
View 3 RepliesMy 08, when I connect my 7-pin trailer up, bouncing down the road that message and tone CONSTANTLY going off....drives me nuts! I have went thru the wire harness 2x now, cleaned all the contacts, etc. Any other thing short of a 12 gauge? When it does pop on, the controller starts flashing...I've reached down a few times and manually hit the brakes and it still hits em so whatever it is, I feel its very minor or whatever....just don't know where to go now! All contacts have been cleaned good as well.
