Went to pick up a serpentine belt, they are diff for warm weather package. How do you tell if your 2008 F350 has the "Warm Weather Package".....
View 9 Replies2006 6.0l ... I've read all over for tips on routing this belt and everyone plays it off as being some simple '20-minute' task. I'm on my 4th hour on this now.
I can't figure out how to route the belt around the tensioner pulley, circled in the picture (from another thread). Everyone glosses over how to do this and I can't figure it out.
It seems like the only way to get it on is to bend the belt and slide it between the pulley and the block, but that I just can't reach the blasted thing.
I bought a 2004 6.0L F-250 used a few weeks ago. There have been a few problems here and there that I have been competent enough to fix. I am now facing a problem of A: the truck not starting (I believe it was just a battery problem, charged and started fine). But also B: I have had a slightly frayed serpentine belt that I noticed a few days ago. After I got the truck running from my the no-start and driving it around the block I parked it and went inside. Came back out a few minutes later and I tried to start it. It hesitated a little bit but started with a loud whining noise and white smoke coming from the belt. Turned the engine off and saw on one of the bottom wheels (pulleys?) some residue that looked and smelled like burnt rubber. Is this just simply a need for a new belt?

Ran great in the warm weather but ever since it got cold out its been a struggle. It was running rough on the way home and kept stalling while i was driving it.. (acting like it was starving for fuel).
I went and replaced both fuel filters and started the truck... let it warm up and it stalled while sitting in my drive way and haven't been able to start it since...
I have fuel additive in it but since I don't drive it all the time (maybe 3 times a week for 30 miles) could it be possible that the fuel is gelling?
I was going to check the EGR valve tonight...
I need an expert. 2007 Ford F-350 King Ranch and tonight, the wife and I were coming home from friends house and I tried to buckle my seat belt. The receiver would not click and hold the seat belt. Cannot find the replacement. What should I do?

View 4 RepliesI have an 08 f350, and my cab over lights are out...I've checked net for issues and they all point in different directions... Running and towing lights are fine, just cab over lights are out...is there a fuse somewhere I cant find? could one burned bulb be out and it effects all?

View 8 RepliesI have an 08 f350 lariat with the 6.8 with 66000 miles. A month ago took it to the dealer with a plugged catilityc converter. All covered under warranty. Got the truck back, starts great when cold including 18 degrees the other morning. I drive 7 miles to work, shut it off and restart, it acts as if the starter is struggling to turn the engine over. Once it cools off, starts fine again. I took it back to dealer, they replaced the starter. No change. Took it back again, they replace battery. Cranks a little faster, but you can tell it's still struggling. It always starts, I'm just wondering how it will be when it's 80 out and in pulling my 9000lb camper....
View 14 RepliesA bit annoying. 2008 F-350. When the truck is cold there is a creaking feeling I can feel through my foot. It usually lingers while the truck is warm but eventually goes away. It's in the actual pedal. This may be a stupid question but is there anything that can be lubed under there ?

View 7 RepliesHave an 08 f350 xl and was looking to put oem foglights into the bumper where mine has the block out 's, guess what I am asking is if the wiring is already there as it was on a different vehicle I owned ,basically it was a plug and play ,have only had the truck for a week and with the hours I'm working I really haven't had a chance to crawl under and look for the wiring.
View 3 RepliesTruck is 08 f350 lariat with minor issues. Both seat heaters don't get hot. Click is heard under driver seat. Both dash lights come on. No heat. Steering wheel fan control won't turn fan up. Turns it down fine.
PO put aftermarket HID with ballasts and bulbs and factory light housings. Factory housings scatter light and they are waaayyy bright. Can't drive anywhere with out blinding someone. What aftermarket projectors will work with HID set up I already have?
2008 F350 6.4 diesel. I have the listed truck in the heading, my #9 fuse which is for the interior lighting, lighted running boards and it is a 15a fuse, keeps blowing as soon as I touch the fuse to the fuse box to replace it. I have look at all the map lights and interior lights and can not find any thing out of the ordinary, all of these light were working fine, also my cruise control and the back up sensors stopped working and they are not on the same fuse and the other components that are on the circuit with the crule and back sensors still work, I know that this is a lot of different things but hate chasing electrical ghosts...

Anything I should look out for on the install? Once they are installed I would like to add front and rear strobes along with a roof light for plowing.
View 3 RepliesHave a 2008 F350 Lariat Crew cab and I don't have any power coming to the center console power points. I unplugged the cig lighters and check the harness itself but no juice. Fuse 41 and 43 test good am i missing another fuse not listed?
View 5 RepliesI recently switched back over to the 5.4 from a diesel. It's a 08 F350. I have about 38,000 on it now. I have no complaints so far, a little less power than the diesel, but I don't tow much anyways. The only thing I can't figure out is a strange noise at around 2500-3000 rpms shortly before a shift sometimes. The best way I can think to describe it is that it sounds like a turbo fart in a diesel. Almost like someone is putting their finger over an air hose on and off a couple times. It doesn't do it all the time, and doesn't shake the truck, or effect the shift at all from what I can tell.
I've put it through a lot of different shifts just to see if it might be transmission related. It downshifts and upshifts perfectly without any noise or slipping, and the fluid looks just as clean as brand new. No smell or anything either. It doesn't feel like torque converter shudder to me either as i can't actually feel anything in the truck, just the small noise. To me it almost sounds like it's coming from under the hood. I'm not overly worried about it right now, because it isn't effecting the way the truck drives or shifts at all, I'm just curious what it could be.
What exactly does the sensor on the rear axle do? 08' f350. I know it's a speed sensor of some sort, but what does it do or control exactly.
View 3 RepliesI recently purchased an '08 F-350 4x4 Lariet Supercab 6.4l and was told by the 3rd party inspection that it needs rear brake pads (2mm left). Are the caliper pistons retractable without having the pistons seize down the road? HOw about the fronts? See below.
I ask as on my '06 F-250 XLT 4x2 5.4l the rear calipers seized without even doing a pad change and the fronts seized about 100 miles after a pad change. Come to find out it is a common problem with the '06 and the calipers either have to be replaced or rebuilt when changing pads. Now I've been "told" to expect the same with the '08.
