My 2008 f 250 with 75k on it is making some unreal noises at 45 to 65 miles per hour. Almost sounds like someone is tapping on the top of the cab.

View 3 RepliesSo, I've now had my 2015 F250 6.7 Diesel for about 2 weeks and I just turned over 1000 miles (damn I love driving this truck). And, I'm dying to find out if my mpg experience coincides with any other truck. With no load I am consistently getting right at 22.5 mpg at 70 miles per hour. With all in town driving and no load I'm holding right at 15 mpg. And I've noticed something else that seems odd. I'm actually getting a little worse mileage at 60 and 65 than I do at 70 miles per hour. What is going on there? Do these engines get a little better mileage as they get more miles on them?
View 3 RepliesI have 05 F250 SD with 150k on it. The engine has the typical cam phaser knock, timing chain slap on start up and occasionally have a noisy lifter. As long as I use fresh 20-40 oil the engine symptoms are less and the engine runs strong. The motor also doesn't leak or burn oil and the plugs were change out about 20k ago.
The truck is still good and is prefect for my needs so to me it's seems worth fixing the needed repairs. What I would like to figure out how far should I take the motor... just have the chains, guides and phasers replaced or buy a rebuilt motor and swap it? I'm thinking just doing the phases and etc would be 1/2 the cost but may not last as long as rebuilt motor. But realistically I might only put 5-7k miles are year on it anyways.
My 2008 rear suspension creaks and squeaks and groans when I move my horse trailer. Truck has 32k miles, has done since purchase last year, squirted wd 40 and that works. At ford place now, they say it is because I added the ride rite air bags. Told them it made same sound before I installed. What to tell them (tech service bulletins ?) or give up and keep spraying and looking for dry joint?
View 1 RepliesRecently my 2011 f250 sd 6.2s check engine light came on so I took it to my local dealer it was throwing a p0430 code, they said bank 2 cat converter wasn't do it's job so it needed to be replaced. I am concerned that there is an underlying cause of the premature cat fail. I pushed the issue with the service manager and he told me that's all they could do was replace the cat and refused to check anything else on the truck. Is this common? The truck runs and drives fine. I'm just concerned that they are just throwing parts at it to get it out the door.
View 5 RepliesSeems recently my 2008 f250 diesel wants to go into 4wd all by itself. It's the electric switch on dash with the auto/lock front hubs. I'm thinking either the dash switch or the accuator motor. Where to start though... Also I can turn the switch to 4 wheel high and it doesn't go in.

We have tried unplugging the radio and plugging it back in for a few minutes, but that has not worked .. Any way to get the aux input to work?

After replacing the Glow Plug Module and the cam sensor. I have no codes on the scanner. However, after driving the truck for one hour or two it stalled and after cool down about a while t started and stalled after hot. Now I been reading lots of info and this is what I got so far.
Flow Sensor
Fuel injector control
Fuel pump
And one person said that he change the wire harnesses for glow plug on top of the head covers?
Got issues with speedo bouncing back and forth after going over 80 km an hour that and under is steady changed speed sensor replaced speedo with another had read about sensors brands not working with speedo unit had put Napa brand in so wondering if it's just the sensor...

It just seems to take forever to get up hills. Has 124K....
Also has a huge hissing noise thats RPM dependent on the passenger side. Will make the sound in neutral just revving.
I been having a issue with my truck lately. It's a 2008 with only 88,000 miles. When doing 55mph it feels like the transmission is slipping. Sometimes it will do it over and over. If I speed up to about 60mph it goes away.its has gotten worse in the last month or so. Hoping it's nothing major.

It almost seems like a fuel filter but I changed them out 2 times now and the same thing keeps happening . It has been a very cold winter here and if there was any water - it would freeze.
If I am going down the highway and it starts to sputter. I put transmission into neutral and shut motor off with key. Start it up and it's good for less than a minute or two and it's back to sputtering.
I have a 2008 F250 that the tailgate has always been real easy to open and close until the other day I could not get it to latch so i slammed it and it did latch and it worked a few days but now it won't latch at all. I can open and close the latch with the tailgate down but nothing I do will make it latch in place. I've tried spraying with PB blaster it didn't work. Not sure if its out of adjustment or what.

It sounds like it is a fuse issue from what I have read, but I bought the truck at an auction and I don't have a book. Do the brake or parking brake fuse? And where is it located? I know there is a panel under the hood and under the dash, which fuse to look for. It's a 2008 extended cab gas model.
