How to disassemble the dashboard on my 2008 F250 FX4? I removed the few screws I could find. But most of the panels seems to be stuck behind the central panel (where the radio and A/C controls are). For the life of me I can't figure how to take it apart.
View 10 Repliesgot a quick question, i have the 1aauto 2008+ mirrors on my truck. How do you take the mirrors apart? When it rains or i wash the truck the bottom of the mirror fills up with water, and it slowly drips all over my doors when i drive the truck and when i open or shut the doors the water sloshes around and again gets all over my door. I want to remove the bottom piece (if it comes off) and drill two drain holes, i would do it on the mirror still but im afraid id hit the wires or something for the heated/power functions
View 5 RepliesI have an F-250 diesel 2004 and about six months ago it started acting really crazy. Basically most all of the dashboard electronics stopped working like the speedometer , odometer, gauges, etc. additionally all of the interior lights, and the radio stopped working. Now it looks a lot like the attached picture when I'm driving the truck. All of the lights are lit up on the dash panel but nothing actually works. I thought at first that a bunch of fuses might be blown but I have replaced nearly every fuse that has anything to do with any of the affected systems. What the issue might be.
View 11 RepliesI picked up a 2013 F250 back in Sept. currently about 5k miles. I've had in the shop twice. Once for a loud moonroof vibration when idling and just recently another for a PCM update(Engine light came on).
Here's the problem...
Something odd happened when I drove about a 1/4 mile... The dashboard lit up like a christmas tree and gave every error known to man. All dashboard lights came on, parking break, engine light, etc. Then the computer dash gave an AdvanceTrac Error, Oil pressure low and something else I can't recall. All my gauges went dead, including the Speedometer. Mind you, this was while driving... The only gauge working was the fuel gauge.
Turned the truck off, back on, everything works as normal. The truck has not showed any issues since (2 days of short distance drives).
I called the Service Dept and spoke with my guy. He never heard of this before and kind of wrote it off... Said, they won't be able to figure out unless it happens while they have it. This doesn't sound right to me.
My nose is pointing at the PCM update or a possible grounding issue.
Seems recently my 2008 f250 diesel wants to go into 4wd all by itself. It's the electric switch on dash with the auto/lock front hubs. I'm thinking either the dash switch or the accuator motor. Where to start though... Also I can turn the switch to 4 wheel high and it doesn't go in.
View 1 RepliesSo my dad just bought a 2008 f250 xl with a single cd head unit and mp3 hookup. When you press the aux button on the head unit, it displays ' no aux audio". We have tried unplugging the radio and plugging it back in for a few minutes, but that has not worked .. Any way to get the aux input to work?

It just seems to take forever to get up hills. Has 124K....
Also has a huge hissing noise thats RPM dependent on the passenger side. Will make the sound in neutral just revving.
I been having a issue with my truck lately. It's a 2008 with only 88,000 miles. When doing 55mph it feels like the transmission is slipping. Sometimes it will do it over and over. If I speed up to about 60mph it goes away.its has gotten worse in the last month or so. Hoping it's nothing major.
View 6 Replies6.4 diesel 2008 F250.... I have been having lots of trouble with low power and sputtering of this diesel truck . It almost seems like a fuel filter but I changed them out 2 times now and the same thing keeps happening . It has been a very cold winter here and if there was any water - it would freeze.
If I am going down the highway and it starts to sputter. I put transmission into neutral and shut motor off with key. Start it up and it's good for less than a minute or two and it's back to sputtering.
I have a 2008 F250 that the tailgate has always been real easy to open and close until the other day I could not get it to latch so i slammed it and it did latch and it worked a few days but now it won't latch at all. I can open and close the latch with the tailgate down but nothing I do will make it latch in place. I've tried spraying with PB blaster it didn't work. Not sure if its out of adjustment or what.

It sounds like it is a fuse issue from what I have read, but I bought the truck at an auction and I don't have a book. Do the brake or parking brake fuse? And where is it located? I know there is a panel under the hood and under the dash, which fuse to look for. It's a 2008 extended cab gas model.

Lately, I can stomp on my brakes @ 50 mph and they won't trigger the abs or come close to skidding the tires. The peddle goes to the floor if I push hard enough and the truck doesn't seem to stop fast like it used to.
I'm wondering if there is an issue I should be focusing on, like swelling brake lines or some issue you may know of. I'll try bleeding the brakes this coming weekend, but i think its going to be a bad brake line or something.
My 2008 F250 Super Duty is riding very, very rough. I put in new heavy duty Bilstien shocks 2 or 3 years ago, and I would think they would last longer than this.
Are they any other causes I can look at to see what is causing this truck to ride rough?
I have a 2008 Ford F250 with 6.4. Having alot of problems with the 4X4. Went to put the truck in 4 wheel drive one day and noticed the light on the dash never came on to engage 4X4. Of course we had a big snow storm coming and I didn't have 4 wheel drive. I drove the truck across town and decided to just try 4x4 again and it worked that time. I got the light on the dash and could hear the transfer case shift motor engage. Came out a little later and tried it and it wasn't working again. Took truck to shop where they replaced transfer case shift motor with a remaned motor from oriellys.
4x4 worked for a few weeks then just started doing the same thing again. We thought maybe that motor had problems also so had it replaced too. Truck is still doing the same stuff. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Figured out that if its not working and I leave it in 4x4 and unhook power to shift motor then plug it back in it will engage 4x4. I've seen some post on here but sounds like everyone i've seen their motor just stops and doesn't work at all.
I have 08 f250 6.4 was driving down the road truck just died. Will turn over but not crank. I've checked oil level, water level, fuses, fuel cut off switch. Still no start.

When you go to turn the switch to engage the 4x4 all you get is a click click click click click. Is that a problem with the 4x4 shifting solenoid on the transfer case? Anything else to look for? The truck has 95k miles on it....
