My 450 has all power to lights and aux but no dash lights and only the airbag light will illuminate on the dash and the truck won't start there is absolutely any power being transferred to the starter. It only happens after rain or increasing humidity it seems.

I want to do new wheels and tires on my 2008 f250 and I don't want to deal with the tpms. Can it be tuned out from the computer?

View 1 Replies1.) I am looking though the fuse list here and can't find which one operates the "map lights" that are in/under the rear view mirror. I already pulled the cover and looked at both filaments and neither was blown/disconnected. I'll be testing for power tonight to see if I have power. However. I'm guessing that I don't have power if both filaments are good and neither map light works. Which fuse controls these? I'll be testing the fuse block and the bulb base for power to try and find the problem.
2.) I just replaced my clock spring and got my horn and cruise control back. However my air bag light blinks a few times, turns off, blinks a few more times and then stays on. Do I need to clear a stored error code in my computer for it to stay off or do I have another problem?
I'm so used to the 87-91 era trucks it's hard to "relearn" all the mechanics and especially the wiring!
I just picked up my 2013 XLT diesel last week. I noticed the Airbag light comes on and does not go off.
It does not blink or appear to give any code, just goes off for a few seconds when i start then immediately comes back on solid. Where to look? Loose connector somewhere? Due to my work hours and weekend obligations, it is hard to schedule dealer time.
my 00 f250 has the air bag light on all the time. it does not flash it just stays solid. it was like this when i bought the truck @3 months ago. also the passenger air bag switch does not light up when you use it. is this causing my airbag light to stay on?

View 3 RepliesI have a 2000 ford f450 with the 7.3. the truck sat for about three month and now it won't turn over. When I put the key in to start it only the airbag light and abs light up. when i got to turn it over I can hear the starter just click but the engine wont crank. I have checked the batteries and the starter and they are all good. i have also checked the shiftier position sensor on the tranny and it fine.
View 5 RepliesI'm thinking of doing a dash swap on my 99 super duty to the 2008 super duty dash, steering wheel, etc. I know the od in my truck is mechanical and in the new one its electronical is it possible to swap without having to redue the whole electrical system and computer? Is the steering wheel going to line up and the ducting? How should i approach the wiring?

But the horn works?? I don't see how the pressure switch or the brake and clutch switch would make the ab light come on...
View 2 RepliesI have an early 1999 f250 diesel. I originally googled having the airbag light on and loss of cruise control and came up with it more than likely being a bad clock spring. So I replaced the clock spring, and it was definitely blown. I have a horn now, not sure if I did before or not, but still the light is on and no cruise control. The airbag light is flashing code 27 which I believe means the passenger airbag has issues.
So I tried turning the key in the switch for the passenger airbag to deactivate it, but it only lets me turn it 45 degrees and no light comes on. It looks like the key should turn 90 degrees but maybe I'm just an idiot. I see a lot of people with the bulbs dying and running into issues but that wouldn't explain the inability to turn the key 90 degrees. Also would the airbag light being on deactivate the cruise or is that just some other issue? For what its worth, I plugged in a code reader and no codes came up, just the flashing airbag light.
Driving the truck today I noticed mssg from info on dash " problem with trailer wiring". I wasn't hauling anything. the message went away on my next stop when a truck was turned off. On my next stop, I was pulling into a parking space truck stalled and I saw another message saying something like " please pull over safely and stop a truck." Luckily I was already parked. the truck would not start or even turn over. after about an hour truck started but brake symbol was on the dash.
View 10 RepliesMy batteries drained twice and now I prob. need new ones but with the key off I can turn the blower on any speed and the passenger airbag light blinks. I hear the clicking from a relay under the dash when I do this. I have checked for leaks in the windshield and found none . The fuse box and the GEM are completely dry. My ignition switch will pull out with the key in it . I noticed this just the past few weeks . Now yesterday my odometer speedometer quit. It did pull a code for this. Maybe it is connected maybe not . My odl light is flashing but still works. My cruise doesn't but I realize it is connected to speedometer.

My 4wd went out in my 2011 Superduty, the light comes on, i can feel an engagement but then I get check 4wd light on the dash. I stopped to look in the fuse box for a blown fuse but there is no panel cover there.... Im trying to locate this fuse so I can stop to the store real quick on my way home.

On Friday afternoon the ABS light on my dash came up, ran the codes on my SCT Livewire and came up with a "P0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor A"
What should I be going after? Rear speed sensor? Front ABS sensors? Transmission speed sensor?
Speedometer is functioning 90% of the time, twice in the last 48 hours it wouldn't then shift hard and I would pull off to reset.
I have looked over the search results and wondered if there is a way to test the sensor with my multi-meter? Seems quite a bit of people had flashing over-drive light's at the same time, which I do not.
I gave my truck a little more gas to hold my speed up the hill to my exit and as I did the truck downshifted. As it downshifted, my tranny light on the dash came on and stayed on. I drove the mile or so from exit to my parking lot and here it sits. Drives fine, shifts fine, and doesn't smell. It needs to be able to make that hour long drive home Thursday night. Is it okay to drive? Is there something I need to do? It's an 06 F-250 5.4.
View 9 RepliesI looked around for ABS issues but did not find anything to my question .. Mine started last summer running along interstate light just popped one I had just run over some paper and stuff tossed out by a diver food bags and stuff so I figured maybe some trash go into the area under wheel sensor I stopped a bit later for fuel and lite did nit come back on at start up.. Did not come on again for several weeks I scanned the system said faulty sensor circuit .
My son in Law has a mech. at his dealership to look it over he plopped a new sensor in it .. Light came back on again a day or so later I think there is a bad connection at some point .. I took the one at the wheel and the one right at the fender well liner a my scanner said it was right or passenger side front both times I scanned it .
My question is, how many more connections there is its almost impossible for my crippled up to crawl and climb all over and under the thing to clean the connectors and add some dielectric grease. 05 S/D 6.0 turbo....
The battery light is on on the dash. I checked both batteries with the ground wire removed, and they show 12.85 and 12.84 volts, they are clean and not in need of water. The battery light will go out after around 15 minutes on the highway, but not around town, and if I shut off the truck in town, the next start is at a very reduced amperage. Alternator packing it in?
View 1 RepliesMy 4wd doesn't engage on my 04 powerstroke. The dash light doesn't come on. I replaced the relays, switch, and 4wd module, I checked the fuses, all fuses are good, but fuse 31 doesn't get power to it. The voltage at the relay block reads 12v with the fuses out, but drops to around 7v when they're plugged in. I have no power to the Tcase (.15v).
View 11 RepliesOn my 05 Super Duty, the gauge light for the fuel and oil pressure are out. The needles are still illuminated red but the backlight for the gauges are dark. Are these replaceable bulbs or are they a circuit board diode or something that can't be easily replaced?
View 1 Replies2004, cc/lb 6.0 ... I get in the truck and the dome lights come on, key the ignition and they stay on though they should go off, start truck and they still stay on until I reach 5 mph. Door ajar light is illuminated on the dash. If the truck is off and I open the drivers door, the domes will come on, they will not come on if I open the other three doors. I just replaced the switch on the drivers door and no change.
I held the trip button and started the engine. I kept tapping the button until "door 40" came up. When I opened the drivers door it would change from 40 to CO. When I opened the other doors, it would stay at 40.
I did notice that once I had the drivers door open and completely off the latch and my hands off the door handle, I would move the door and it would then change from 40 to CO. At this point the latch switch is out of the picture. So if i move the door slightly open/close it would switch from 40 to CO when the door is nearly closed. Is there another switch or sensor somewhere near the hinges?
