Curious as to whether the lights flashing when locking or unlocking the doors on the '06 F series was an option or standard equipment? I know that they flash when you lock the doors (hitting the button twice) but curious at to whether you can make them flash when you unlock (rather than just the interior light coming on).
View 1 RepliesI have been running SRL and love how it woke the truck up, however it seems like it hunts around a bit for the right gear sometimes and feels like it is constantly locking unlocking TC. I recently switched to 8K tow because I am going to be pulling a horse trailer soon and wanted to see how it felt first and it drives way better. I miss the extra getup and go of the SRL but it shifts way better and doesn't hunt around. Is there some adjustment on SCT I can do that would fix this issue with SRL tune?

I have 2 friends, one with a 2000 like mine and one with a 99.5 that do, and all the newer models I encountered at the car lot I used to work at did as well. I always figured it was a mid run model revision until I noticed my one friend's doing it, then I noticed the other.
View 9 RepliesI have an 06 F-250. I have had this truck since Oct 2013 and had never use 4 wheel drive here in southern Alabama, so my question is i lock my hubs, turn my selector to 4 high and it works. Now selecting to 4 low and I get nothing.

View 14 Replies2002 f350 ext cab. Having an issue where my lights are blinking or flashing repeatedly while driving. Or whenever really. Truck running or not. Auto light switch in any position. I can hear what I believe to be the under dash circuit breaker clicking on and off. If I turn my light switch to the on position, breaker still clicks but lights remain steady. Where to start looking? Bad wire? Bad switch?
View 1 RepliesSo coming home yesterday from our camping trip the tow/haul light started to flash. this was about 40 miles into the trip. So we pulled over, the tranny fluid looked low, so I added a little more. The light stopped flashing, but maybe another 20 miles it started again, we pulled over and it stopped. We got to a rest stop and after about 20 minutes, I called Good Sams Roadside, there tech said to take it out of tow/haul mode and so we left the rest stop and it was good for just about 40 miles.
We hit another rest stop, at this point we were about 80 miles from home. I did not feel any difference in the truck shifting or if it was acting different. The light flashed again, sometimes going off, then coming back on. We hit two more rest stops, letting the truck rest. We left the last rest stop, we were already halfway up a big hill on the Mass Pike and after 5 miles the light came on, but then after a few miles it stop and from that point to my house ( which was just over 50 miles) it never came back on.
The truck is a 2006 F250 gas that just hit 100,000 miles. New motor put in over the winter and a few years back had the cam phasers and some work done on it. Could this be some sensors, etc that is starting to go and needs to be replaced?
I have a 2000 ford windstar LX. When i drive it, the door chime sensor comes on and off randomly and door starts locking unlocking. Happens more often when the road is bumpy or when i brake hard.
Per the local dealer I changed all four door actuators (the front one had stopped working) . All four door actuators are brand new and working but the issue still exists.
What should be my next steps in troubleshooting? Is there a way to simply disconnect these door chime sensor?

Recently, the truck started an issue. its an every once in awhile thing but has been doing it more recently. The OD light will start flashing and the vehicle will start to have clunking in the tranny and start shifting rough. ABS kicks in making it hard to stop. Once you turn the truck off and back on, Its fine until it does it again. Im connecting to a scanner tomorrow to see if i get any codes.
I have a 2006 F350 SRW 4WD 6.0 with 127000 miles on it. A couple of weeks ago it, pulling out of my driveway, it hesitated and tow haul started flashing. I had codes pulled and it showed P1780, P0751, and P2700. After turning off, codes were gone and tow haul off. Ran fine since then every day. Yesterday while going about 50 mph it started acting like it was in neutral (revving up), nothing happened when mashing the accelerator. Coasted to a driveway and truck would not move, only sounded like it was in neutral.
View 1 RepliesBrings back memories of my many projects from back in the day. Anyway, my uncle has this f250. He said 4x4 wouldn't automatically lock the hubs in. I tested the vacuum pulse valve on the fender and changed it out. Now the hubs will lock in when you turn the light on the dash but it will not unlock the hubs unless you go outside and manually turn the hubs to engage then back to auto. Only then will the front end be unlocked. I notice small puffs of air blowing back from behind the hub themselves so I was thinking it's time to reseal the vacuum portion of the hubs.
View 4 RepliesThe issue began around July/August of this year. It sounds as if the car locks are attempting to lock and unlock while I am driving. It is a clicking sound. The doors will automatically lock when the car is going at 10 mph - this is normal. The locking/unlocking sound sometimes will start within 5 minutes and other times within 30 minutes - it is totally random. This does not happen every day but it is definitely monthly and has lasted anywhere from 3 days to 10 days. The other noise associated with it comes from the console on the passenger side. It is a clicking sound. This sound happens during the locking/unlocking sound but on intermittent cycles. The doors never become unlocked while I am driving. I purchased the car new.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe , the doors keep locking and unlocking. The abs and brake lights come on and stay on. When the doors act up the engine light comes on . The best is it'll stall out. Doesn't happen every time , but 99%
View 5 RepliesOkay, i have an issue with both rear doors randomly not locking or unlocking, i have to manually push down on the rear door lock buttons to lock them, then when i try to unlock them they get stuck, then when i pull the inside door handles they pop up again only sometimes.
1. I use keyfob to lock or unlock wont work
2. I manually put key into the drivers door, still not working
3. I use the inside drivers door switch and still doesn't work
Other problem is when I arm the alarm with keyfob, battery goes flat, i think it's sensing that the door is open why its draining the battery. Both front doors work excellent.
On my o6 SD i want to make the OEM fog lights "selective yellow". I am going to tint the fog light lens with duplicator metal cast yellow. What I am wondering is if paint the outside of the lens or take apart and paint the inside.
I am leaning towards heating and splitting the lens from the housing and painting the backside of the fog light lens so the color will not be chipped off from lens wear and tear. What I am wondering is if the fluted rim on the inside of the lens will take the paint in a uniform manner, or would it be better just to paint the out side where it is smooth all the way to the housing.
I have a spare pair, I am working with and have split he lens from the housings before.
I have a problem with my F250 2006 6.0L. I cant seem to get my both fog lights to work. i checked both bulbs are good. I checked fuse 43 an its good. When I turning fog lights on I see a small light that turning on in the panel but the fog lights outside are off. I hear the sound of the relay when activate the switch but I DONT have 12volts + in the fog lights outside? They worked several days ago but not today
View 2 RepliesI have a 2010 Prius IV and set the doors to all unlock when I touched the driver's door handle. Annoyingly, now when I touch the raised spot on the handle (either driver or passenger side) to lock all the doors the car does the beep but also briefly toots the horn. The horn also toots when I touch the handle to unlock.
My old 2005 Prius VI just did the beeping (which my neighbors and I can live with) but the addition of a honking horn, however brief, is pretty annoying. I can't seem to find a place to disable this unwanted feature...
Car worked fine yesterday. Today, I walk to my car, unlock the doors, lights work but engine won't crank. just a few very light clicks (3 -5 clicks quickly, wasn't really counting, a relay? solenoid? )
Lights work, horn works radio works. try to unlock the rear doors with the remote, but it won't. Try to open trunk with remote and it works.
Call roadside assistance, attach a battery jumper to the battery and same thing. engine doesn't crank, windows won't roll down, doors won't unlock or lock. but trunk works. radio works, lights work.
I wanted to think starter or starter solenoid but the issues with the door and windows have me puzzled. Its a 2001.5 passat v6, 5 speed, engine light is not on.
Using alarm or turning off head lights my running lights will not turn off. I am thinking it has something to do with alarm. I unplugged headligths and dimmer switch and still stays on. Where the relay is or the alarm box is located its on a 2006 F250 4X4....
