I have a 2006 F250 and my 7pin and 4 pin connectors are just hanging loose. I'm not sure what happened to the factory bracket. What is the part number for this bracket? Also, where does it mount to? I looked under the truck and couldnt tell where the factory one mounts.

They're on a 2015 F250. "upfitter" switches were installed from the factory.
Any limited number of lights the factory trailer harness on the truck can tolerate? I'm looking to add some extra running lights on my trailer, also want to put a couple of lights on each running board on the truck, they will be tied in with the trailer harness since it is not monitored by the BCM. I did a search on this a few different ways and couldn't find anything.

View 9 RepliesThe pigtail from my bumper mounted 7-pin to the factory connector is all hacked up from the previous owner so I'm looking to replace that pigtail. Also wondering if there should be 2 connectors down there to add a connector for my gooseneck or do I need to splice another universal 7-pin into the bumper light pigtail? Also, is there another (preferably slightly cheaper) option besides e-trailer for such a connector?
View 3 RepliesI'm still fighting tow harness problems on my '01 F 250. I started by replacing the 7-way pig tail with a new one which didn't work. Then I undid all the butchering of the harness that was done previously. The factory harness had scotch locks all over it that were used to splice in a 6-way and a 7-way into the bed. I liquid taped all the nicks in the wires. Then I checked for power at the factory harness end where the pigtail plugs in. I have park/running lights, and one of the ports flashes for the left turn signal/flashers/stop lamps. I got rained on before I could check further up the wire. If I have no power to the wire further up is there another place to check?

I have looked in the tech folder and searched and searched. could not find wires that are the same color as mine. Yes, mirrors are OEM. I need to know what color goes to what color.

Side note these are in no particular order as far as pin location.
I recently purchased a 2011 F550 Super Duty with a flatbed mounted on it. Turns out, the trailer wiring harness is totally screwed up and I am getting tons of shorts whenever it rains. Going through it front to back, we are finding multiple problems like missing fuse box covers, damaged fuses for starters. The Ford dealership in Texas that did my prepurchase inspection for me totally missed all of this, so i am stuck holding the short end.
IN the rear of the truck we detected shorts in several areas. One of them is in this adapter pictured along with this. Is this a Ford part, or does it appear aftermarket? Is it just an adapter or is it more than that? I am just now getting to l know this truck more specifically. given the date of manufacture on the label it would seem to be from Ford??? Part # is 99-004 and 71-012-A...

View 1 RepliesWe bought a 2012 f550 chassis and had a utility bed outfited. As far as I know the truck does not have a tow package (major F-up). They did install a receiver and electric in the rear. The 7 way pin in the rear does have the appropriate wires (including blue). I can not find the harness in the cab under the dash. I have looked near the radio where I have found the harness on our other trucks. I specifically looked for the red white and blue wire under there. Where is this harness? Is the harness still in the cab even without the tow package? This will be for the old school plug in controller, not the ford intergrated contoller.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2006 f250 superduty crew cab longbed with the v10 gas motor. it has 201000 miles on it and towed great up until last month. I was towing a 5000lb trailer down the interstate at around 68mph,suddenly it was like the drive train disengaged and the motor had nothing left, check engine light on but no overheat condition or lack of oil pressure. we put a new fuel filter and pump on and maf, took trailer out again and same problem, pulled to the side and turned off, immediately restarted and ran fine. It has a cat not cleaning code in it now!

View 10 RepliesI recently had need of replacing my left exhaust manifold on a 2000 F250 4 x 4. I removed plastic inner fender well. Now I have a two pin harness with both white wires. One is white with red stripe, the other is white with black stripe. The harness is round with a locking square on one side. The harness is located about 10" from bottom of inner left plastic fender panel. It has 2 mounting pegs. Where the heck does this connect?

View 2 RepliesI have a 2005 Ford F-250. I have checked power to the rear harness and all is good except for the tail/running lights.
Is there a fuse for the tail lights? I have checked the manual and don't see one called out. And the relays under the hood are labeled stop lights/turn signals and those are working fine.
I will see if I can trace the brown wire from the rear harness backwards, but it may be a simple fuse.
I have a 2005 ford f250 with the factory installed brake controller and towing package,until recently all was well,I tow a fairly large travel trailer and last time I hooked the trailer to the truck I noticed the running lights on the trailer were lit, I checked to make sure that I did not have the parking lights turned on or the headlights. I did find posts about the running lights not working and was surprised to find there is a relay somewhere on the central junction fuse block that was integral to the cfb and not user serviceable. Could my problem be that this relay failed in the closed position or am I not going in the right direction in my quest to find this problem. Also looking for a diagram of where this relay is located on the central junction fuse block? I would also consider doing a work around solution rather than having to replace the entire fuse block.
View 7 RepliesI have (2) 2014 f250's both have given the trailer disconnected message randomly from the day they were new. Dealer says everything is with in specification. I just live with it now but something must be wrong with the design. Only does it when no trailer is connected an might be worse when it rains. Might have to hit the ok button every 10 minutes so on bad days.
View 14 RepliesSo the other day 2/3/2014 my dad and I went out during the snow storm for the people that needed assistance. That day I pulled a 95' RWD dually with a 4 car open trailer and pushed 4 people from one location. Then after I went to assist the tractor trailer driver. My truck is a 2002 F250 super duty 5.4L with 4:10 gears. I got him unstuck then pulled him a 1/2 mile up a hill.

I tow a 5th wheel with my 2014 F-250 that has an factory TBC. I just installed Electric over Hydraulic disc brakes on my 5th wheel and was trying to see if there was a setting I needed to change on the TBC to tell it that is now E/H versus E. In the Information section of the dashboard display it talks about the controller actuating electric drum brakes but the manual talks about it being able to do electric AND E/H. What I need to do here...if anything?
