I have a new to me 05 F350 dually with 6.0. When I open the door with the key the alarm goes off and the truck won't start. How do I shut this off so I can get in the truck with the key. I can't just leave the door unlocked all the time. It has the key less entry, but I have not set new numbers yet, and if I give the keys to a valet, I don't want to give them the door code too.
View 14 RepliesI bought a 2008 F250 crew cab, long box diesel and other than a couple of minor issues I love it. Tows my race trailer like it isn't even there.
If I use the remote to unlock the doors then everything works as it should, no alarm.
If I unlock the doors using the key pad the alarm sounds?
I have read thru many of the threads I can find but most are reprogramming the keypad. I am suspecting that a door open switch may be the culprit but wouldn't that affect the remote as well?
I have a 2006 F350 CCLB FX4. Is there a way to allow the running/parking lights to come on when I open the door like my dad's 2012? I don't have any roof/clearance lights yet, I'm a little on the fence about drilling holes in my roof but it seems the truck should have them, especially being an F350.
View 14 RepliesI have a 1999 F350 and the passenger side front door suddenly will not open with the inner handle but it will open if I roll down the window and open it from the outside. The inside seems like it is locked but the locks are all working fine and all the other doors are working just fine .....
View 2 RepliesIn forward drive or reverse, I hear a rotational noise that almost sounds like the bed creaking when you're getting it on. As I go faster the noise goes faster until drowned out by road and engine noise. The noise is unaffected by applying the brakes. I jacked the truck up and spun tires as fast as I could by hand and got no noise but when I lowered it back to ground and had the truck roll the noise was back. Noise is not affected by turning wheel.
View 13 RepliesJust bought 2005 F350 XLT. Took it home last night and the alarm started going off at 2:30am for no reason. Stumbled looking for keys and it shut off by itself before I could(it sounded like it rearmed as well). At about 5:00am it went off again. We live in a rural area with not much around.
My understanding is that the XLT would be a Ford 'accessory' item. It does not seem to be too sensitive as I jumped on the back bumper to see if it would set it off but it did not.
The only thing I can think of is that last night, I had flicked all four of the Auxilary switched on the dash and forgot to switch them off. I popped the hood and none of those wires appear to be connected to anything.
I can't see why those switches would have anything to do with it but I am grasping at straws here.
I came home from a week's vacation and towed my 16' toyhauler to and from the Sequoia Nat'l Park ... no issues during the entire trip. Guestimating about 5 hours after being home, everything was unpacked and the truck/trailer locked but still hitched ... suddenly the alarm went off ... all by itself! Using the ignition key, I was able to start/stop the 6.0l diesel motor, but the alarm kept going.
I pressed the lock/unlock buttons but still the alarm was going off! I repeated this a few times and concluded that only recourse was to disconnect the batteries. That stopped the alarm. While doing the disconnecting, I detected a faint electrical hot, maybe a burn kind of smell but no smoke of any kind.
I'm worrisome about reconnecting the batteries to see if the truck is back to normal ... I will probably just have it towed to a mechanic ... in any event it's going to go somewhere to be looked at this coming Monday.
I have a 05 f250 diesel 6.0 with 173k. Between 35-60 mph it has started a humming sound and when the throttle is released the sound stops. I still have power boost etc. Someone mentioned degas cap, turbo pedestal or turbo pipes cracked.
View 14 RepliesTruck is an 03 F350 with the 6.0. It sometimes sounds like the shift motor on the transfer case is trying to engage. It has the vacuum system which is blocked off. Warn aftermarket hubs. Switch on the dash with 2wd, 4wd and 4 low.
It's kind of an off and on thing. Try to engage for a few or more seconds then nothing for awhile then repeat. It sounds like it's at the transfer case. It could very well be coming from firewall/engine bay area as well. Is there anything between the dash switch and the motor?
I have a new 2015 F350 XLT. For the life of me I cannot open the lid on the center arm rest. I have read the manual, and I can't open the lid. This is my 5th Super Duty with the last being a 2010. So you would think this would be a no brainer. I can pull on the handle and its not opening. Pry the damn thing open? Is there a hidden lock? Hidden treasure?
View 14 RepliesI have a 2006 F-350. I got a code p2623 ipr circuit open. I ordered a new one and currently waiting on it. I pulled the old one and the screen has been replaced already. How often do these valves go bad? Is there anything else I should check?
View 6 RepliesAlright, so here's what I've got: 2002 Ford F-350 7.3L - Unmodified, Stock, no chip, no tuner, 130K miles, been run with off-road diesel most of its life as a farm truck.
Here's what it's doing: Serious misfire in cylinders 4 and 6. At idle, mild miss. Throttle from 0 to 50 percent, runs well. Throttle from 50 percent to 100 percent, heavy miss, chugging, white smoke out the exhaust.
Here's what we've done so far:
New UVC Harnesses with updated pigtails.
Cleaned Fuel Filter Mixing screens.
Cleaned out fuel tank.
Cleaned bowl.
Changed Fuel Filter.
Changed IDMs
Changed Crank Sensor.
Inspected injectors while running to see if oil is pumping (it is).
No improvement. Where to go from here. Pulled codes, and it says Cylinder #4 and #6 High to Low Side open. We don't know what to do at this point.
My rear cab door pass side decided it wasn't going to open anymore. Tried playing with the lock. Flipper thing and the inside handle with no luck.

View 2 RepliesJust came back from breaking in new brake pads. Instructions called for five moderate to aggressive stops from 45 to 10mph, then five moderate stops from 35 to 5mph, then cool down and drive as normal. Drivers side door opened fine when I got in to do the test. It's been opening and closing OK since I bought the truck a few months ago. Got back from my break-in procedure, and the drivers side door wouldn't open more than about 8". Had to crawl over and exit from the passenger side. Found that the drivers side door is binding against the front fender about midway down.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2002 F-350, 7.3 that is not charging. It has no power coming in on the big supply lead on the back of the alt. I traced the cable back, and it goes to intake heater solenoid. Cable is good, but intake and glow plug solenoids both have no power coming to them. I am guessing there is an open circuit between solenoids and starter. My question is, does the power come right from the starter, and is there circuit protection in there someplace?

View 5 RepliesI'm looking for a way to eliminate the door chime when the keys are in the ignition and the door is open. I know there is a way to disable it but I don't want to permanently disable...just sometimes.
A friend found a wiring diagram and installed a toggle switch in the drivers kick panel that basically cuts the power to the chime. His F-150 was a different year than mine and I don't know if the F-150's and F-250 use the same color wiring.
I want to do the same thing but need to know which wire that operates the chime. Which wire or have a wiring diagram for a 2006 F-250.
I just bought a 2006 F250 Lariat. The previous owner did not have a manual for the vehicle. When I open a door the dome light does not come on. Is it supposed to come on in that vehicle? The exterior light above the rear window that illuminates the bed of the truck does come on when a door is opened so it makes me think that there is a wiring issue with the dome light. I can light the dome lamps with the switches on the lamp housing so I know that it is working and the bulbs are good.
View 8 RepliesI have and 05 F350 4X4. I put it into 4 wheel drive high yesterday to make sure every thing was working correctly and it was so I went to 4 wheel low and that worked fine. Problem is it won't come out of 4 wheel low. I didn't try to go back to 2 wheel when I was in 4 high. What to look for? The truck has the electric switch to engage 4 wheel.
View 12 RepliesRecently drove a 3500 mile road trip with no issues after installing a SCT X4 programmer from 5 star. Upon returning home the following week the ABS light came on and has not gone off. Additionally, last week the truck stalled while driving down the road at around 45 mph. Had something similar happen last summer, got the truck stuck and was trying to rock it in the mud and every time I shifted from reverse or forward the rpm's dropped to 500 and the truck could not respond to the gas pedal and the ABS light came on. Once I got out and washed all the mud from under it light went off and it ran fine without any warning lights.
Truck is an 05, V-10, 4x4, off road and tow package, lariat. No other mods besides the programmer.
