I have a 2005 Ford F-250 Diesel 6.0 my ac works fine but after working a while the air quits coming out of the vents. It happens every time I go on a long trip with the ac or heater. Is like if a duct damper closes because I can hear the motor blower going. The entire ac system is new but it was doing this with the old system....
View 5 Replies02 F250 with 7.3. When I activate the 4WD, my light comes on, the A/C quits blowing out of the forward vents and goes into defrost and no 4WD. If I sit and wait a bit, the air again blows out the front vents and the 4WD engages. I figure I have a vacuum leak somewhere in the 4WD system. Is there a common place for this to happen or do I need to trace the whole system down? Also my manual hubs has never been turned and of course they won't. I know better than use a wrench so is there a easy way to free them up or just go ahead and disassemble and clean?
View 3 RepliesSo I got in my truck yesterday and i started it like normal and turned air on. The air will not blow out of the vents but only the defrost vents. I have checked all vacuum lines and good, my 4x4 engages and no issue with it locking in. I am Puzzled on what it could be?
View 3 RepliesMy 1999 F 250 5.4 liter. I know I have a vacuum leak because whenever I accelerate the air conditioning coming from the vents switches to the defroster. So my question is how do I go about finding the leak? My hubs in the front are manual so I know I don't have lines going up there. I do have some mechanical capabilities I've changed water pumps alternators brakes etc. But never anything with vacuum lines or a/c.
View 14 RepliesMy '04 f250 with a 6.8 V10 will periodically stop like you shut off the key. It will restart immediately, but you have to shut off the key first. Associated with this are all sorts of codes that appear to be spurious like something is glitching the computer. When it started we were moving out of state so I took it to my mechanic. They chased the codes and found nothing out of whack.
Codes cleared and the next time it happened new ones appeared. The last time it did it the transmission temp gauge quit working, but comes and goes when I drive it. I also have a problem with the key fob needing to be reprogrammed when it happens and the codes showing it is in learning mode like it had been reset or the battery disconnected I am pretty sure it is a wiring problem or maybe the ECU power relay is bouncing.
I have been having an issue with my blinker for the past few months. When the blinker is fully engaged, the right front blinker doesn't work. If I just push up on the blinker so it doesn't fully click into place, the right front blinker works fine, so it is not a burnt out bulb. I have also checked my blinker light in my mirrors and they work fine. Left blinker works fine. I am stumped on to what this can be and I need to get it inspected. 2005 F-250...

This started after changing the fuel filter during a service. Its also difficult to start now. It has to swing for 10 secs before the engine fires. What it could be?
View 4 RepliesLast week I flipped the fan switch on and noticed that only hot air was coming from the vents, even with the control set to AC. The vent control switch seems to work fine directing the air but only hot air. The temperature control does not work. The exception is when I put it on max AC I get cold air. I can't be the only one.

My question.... I noticed a strong ammonia/super glue like smell floating around in the cab about the 3rd time i drove the pickup. Since then, it seems to do it intermittently. My first assumption was it was coming through the vents. I have done a couple experiments, and I don't believe this is the case. My wife and I were driving yesterday and she thought she noticed the smell again. while I was driving she started checking all the vents, and nothing. But when she leaned clear down near the speaker hole in the door, she said she could really smell it.
What could be causing this? I'm assuming if it was the AC it would be coming though the vents. And at this time, I don't think it is.
My heater vents have been acting up. I have read that there may be a vacuum leak that causes the blend doors to default to defrost...
Where the vacuum line fails? I have ESOF 4x4 and that is still working. I think there may be a correlation between engine vacuum and my vents: at cruising or idle the vents work ok (not perfect) and under acceleration (less vacuum) the dash vents stop blowing.
I thought that the blend doors had their own vacuum pump, so I do not know why things change at different amount of throttle?

View 10 Replies2006 F250 with the dash controlled 4x4. I typically keep the front hubs locked on this truck. I have recently noticed that when shifting into 4x4 that the a/c or heat will switch from blowing out of the vents to blowing out of the defrosters. Any clues how to fix this?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2006 F-250 Super Cab with climate control. The last three years when the temp exceeds about 85 degrees outside it acts up. It will switch from the AC vents to defrost and blow normal air through, not ac cold. Then it will switch back, when doing so I can hear the internal deflector shudder. It will do this every few minutes. It is extremely annoying. All other times of the year it works fine. My local dealer had the truck last year, but could not find anything wrong. I have used the search and also Googled and while I find similar problems nothing exactly the same.

View 6 RepliesI have an issue in the passenger door lock on my 2000 F250. My key rarely works on the passenger door. If it does work it takes a lot of wiggling and trying.
I have power locks that work normally and the key works great on the driver's door. How it works but I've heard there is an anti-theft feature where if you hit the lock button twice on the fob the door locks no longer work with the key until they are unlocked with the fob again. I figured my lock issue was related to that.
How to work on this system? What might cause this?
I just got my truck recently, when I purchased it the power mirrors do not work. Already checked the 5A fuse and it is good. Tried putting in a new switch from O'Reilly's and still did not work. Are these switches supposed to light up like the window and lock switch? Thinking it might be a break in the wiring or motors are seized but I've read that is not as common.
