I'm replacing the passenger side manual hub on my '04 F250. I did a brake job last year and I'm sure I cleaned/inspected/lubed the hubs. I can't seem to get this one out. I have the snap ring out and with a rubber mallet, I can get it wiggle just a little. I've loaded up around where the snap ring went with penetrating oil.
Am I missing something? It's just a snap ring and the hub should just pull out, right?
I have a 2004 F250, CCSB, 6.0L, Fx4, Lariat.
I am trying to replace the passenger side front hub. I either have a bad hub, or I am not installing it properly. I have it installed with the locking hub unlocked and trying to turn the hub, the entire passenger side axle spins. It is also very hard to turn it. I strapped axle, and the hub is almost impossible to turn, with or with out the actual hub installed.
This is the second hub that I installed with the same results. I''m not ruling out bad out of the box, but it is the second one I installed today.
I have a 2004 F250 and would like to have more light in front of me. I looked under the front to where the stock fog light would get mounted but I don't see any wire harness in that area. What is involved if I pick up a pair of replacement fog lights like the offer at LMC Truck. Would i need buy a harness? And what about a switch?

I have never done one either, and do not know how to take it off. I thought it was like the old trans where it was in a plastic grommet, but the cable almost looks like it is grafted to the trans. How to get the cable off the trans shift arm?
View 2 RepliesI'm wanting to grease the center spline on my drive shaft. I got the 4 bolts off with a 12mm 16 point boxed in wrench but can't get the drive shaft loose from the rea rend. I don't blindly want to go beating it out of the yoke with a hammer to try to knock it loose (but I will if I have to). What am I missing to get this shaft out?

What is the procedure to remove the Driver's side Rear Sway Bar Link upper bolt? - the link attaches to the frame. The nut is on the inside of the frame with about 1/3" to 2/3" clearance between the frame and the fuel tank. Of course, the frame's "C" shape faces towards the inside.
I have a 2003 F250 5.4L crew cab with the 156"wb. She has just developed a hole in the stock muffler so it will need to be replaced.

Fog Lamps. How do you turn them on. I have a new (to me) 2005 F-350 Crew Cab Long Box Dually King Ranch 6.0L with all the fixes, S/C Programmer, and a water filter system. 200,000 miles
How do you turn on the Fog lamps and what kind of towing MPG are you getting? My 28' 5th Wheel weighs under 7,000, and my 36 footer triple axel under 12,000.

How will a muffler delete on stock exhaust sound? I don't want to remove the cat because I don't want it to be too loud. I want it to sound good but not too much whistle (considering my truck is a 2003 the whistle would be very loud) Should I just to a delete pipe on the stock exhaust, or do a cat-back 4 inch straight pipe? what will sound better? Also doing the cat back exhaust will cost a lot more.. but is it worth it? What I should do.

I was told shorty headers typically match up with the stock exhaust. Eventually going to put in a cat back also so true shorty headers would be sick.
View 14 RepliesI see an oil stain on/surrounding the lower half of what I'm guessing is the PTO cover on the side of my manual transmission. (rectangular plate bolted to side of tranny) I couldn't find a gasket at any autoparts stores. Is there a gasket or did Ford just use a sealer? Would red RTV work ok here instead of a gasket? Or should I use something else?

One of the first things to tackle is the driver's front hub has no manual 4x4 locking mechanism like on the passenger side. Is this a tough job?

I just ordered '00 F250 SC 4x4 SWB XLT with the factory standard manual hubs. The hubs show up on the vehicle order confirmation as code "21M MAN LOCKING HUB". I can't find this code in the ordering guides anywhere but kbb.com shows this code as "Manual hubs delete. Required with 213 shift-on-the-fly". I want the manual hubs. I think ##### is incorrect. For my piece of mind, could someone who has also ordered the factory standard manual hubs verify that the code is indeed 21M. And for those who ordered shift-on-the-fly, could you verify that 21M does NOT show up on your order confirmation...

Like does line run under the cab wiring harness? Like between wiring and firewall? Where on firewall does reservior get mounted usually? Are the holes all ready there for it that I am not seeing?
View 1 RepliesI want to remove the 4x4 stickers on my 2014 SD box. I think it looks cleaner without them. Are they difficult to remove or does the hair dryer trick and then some Goo-Gone do the trick without a big time effort? The last thing I want to do is make a mess of the paint finish.
