So I have a 2003 6.0L Powerstroke 1 ton. I just replaced the starter thinking the solenoid was the problem. But my luck it wasn't. I turn the key and the ding stops and it's quiet. Dash lights go off. I have the engine light and water in fuel light on. ABS is on I think aswell. I've run out of options.
View 1 RepliesSo I 2003 6.0 F350 that is a Dually. Been sitting in my yard for about two years now. I turn the key it just clicks and it doesn't crank. The starter solenoid is not on the firewall so I use the trick with the battery connected positive straight to the starter with the whit The starter solenoid is not on the firewall so I use the trick with the battery connected positive straight to the starter with the wire on the engine bay. It cranked for a while and that started ran rough. Then it just died. I did not start again. I did this during winter so the engine have time to cool off it was about below freezing. Done this multiple times and drove up and down in my backyard but not on the road. What could be wrong with it. Either way I put in diesel 911 and more fuel but and I change the filters with Motorcraft OEM filters. Sure that the caps were right.
View 14 RepliesYesterday I was on a pretty long trip and stopped off the interstate to grab some food. My truck is really loud so I always shut my engine off at the drive-thru. When I went to crack it back up everything lit up but when I turned the key nothing happened. I had the truck towed home and I put a new starter on it. Still nothing.....
Well after further investigating where the positive wire that comes from the starter to the battery was broken at the battery post. Don't know how the heck that happened but I fixed it back to factory condition but still nothing. I'm at a complete loss. I checked all fuses and everything looks good.
When I turn the key everything lights up, then turn to crank it and nothing but a slight sound coming from those square silver things in the fuse panel under the steering wheel.

I have 08 f250 6.4 was driving down the road truck just died. Will turn over but not crank. I've checked oil level, water level, fuses, fuel cut off switch. Still no start.
View 3 RepliesI have a 1999 f350 7.3. Turn the key lights and fuel pump come on but the starter wont crank. I replaced the starter and checked all the fuses i could find. The only way I can get the truck to crank is by jumping the relay under the hood.
View 9 RepliesI have an 02 F250 6.8 with 51,000 miles on it. I recently replaced the battery about a week ago, and only actually drove it yesterday for the first time since replacing the battery. I drove it about 25 miles, parked, and when I went to restart, it wouldn't. The starter doesn't crank, so I mean its not a cranking issue as in cranking, and not starting. It only clicks at the relay when turning the key. It acts like when you try to use a wrong chip coded key.
All of the dash lights came on, and I can hear the relay clicking, but that's it. I swapped the relays around, and no luck. If I let it sit a while, about an hour, it will fire right up. The battery cables are tight and free of corrosion. I am curious, since I just put in a new battery, could this be the culprit? Why will it start fine cold, but not hot? I have NEVER had an issue with this truck until now.
I've got a 2005 f350 with a 6.0 starts when it wants. I have checked the ficm and 48 volts when key is on and cranking! How do I know if my icp is bad? Some days it will start no problem but most days it will just crank over. When it does start i run it for a while shut it off and try to restart it and it wont!
View 3 RepliesI just got an 03 6.0 and a few days ago it developed a rough idle, it takes a little longer to crank and idles fine for 30 seconds to a minute then the rough idle kicks in also I noticed when I drive it the low rpm range is a little choppy and when I come to a stop it goes a little below idle then resumes the rough idle issue. I had it die on the road a day prior to this after it lost complete power at a red light, it started to idle low so I tried to counteract with a little throttle and with the throttle all the way it did nothing, a few minutes it died on the road and took a few minutes to start back up I did a set of filters and it hasn't done it again but I still have the rough idle, I checked the icp sensor and wiring no oil so I cleaned it up a bit and it runs a little smoother.

View 4 RepliesAbout 2 weeks ago it would turn over and cough and then just spin. After a few minutes it would crank. Last week it didn't do it at all, this morning when I am loaded and headed to Atlanta for work it wouldn't crank at all. I didn't have any starting fluid so I tried some cleaner and it would cough and just spin. I'm thinking fuel pressure but I just don't know.

I have cranked the mirror up, down, right and left, popped the tabs loose yet it feels like I'm missing one or a screw. I read that I may have to "Pop" my mirror off to get to stuff. The dealer said I have to buy a complete mirror assembly just to change a freaking bulb on an 03?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2003 F350 V10, was pulling out of the driveway earlier with no issue, then as soon as I went up the road my truck started to sputter and it died. Went to start and it just clicked and wouldn't turn over? I tried jump starting it which worked, but once the cables were off within a minute the truck would die. Got it back home and now the windows won't roll up but the radio works and the door locks work.
View 5 RepliesInterior lights will not turn off when parked. Probably related to this I commonly, but not always, get a door ajar indicator on the dash. But usually this is all temporary. And usually if i lock the truck with the fob, they shut off.Tonight the interior lights, as well as the bed light, stayed on. I looked at fuses to pull, but of all the fuses and relays, not one is listed as "interior lights" . So I disconnected the batteries and figure I'll tackle it tomorrow. 2003 F350 Lariat....
View 6 RepliesI have a 2003 F250 Lariat with the OEM power mirrors with the turn signal on them. I let someone drive my truck and they hit something with the mirror and broke the plastic lens. The mirror housing itself is fine. I can't find just that lens anywhere!

View 10 RepliesOk so my fire station has a 2003 f550 rescue truck with a rescue body with the round tail lights, we recently upgraded them to the LED ones that are much brighter but of course it flashes at the speed of sound. The question I have is:
1. the relay {flasher} is located on the driver side inner fender? I think....
2. does the same EP-27 relay/flasher fix the problem?
Recently got a 2003 f 250 6.0 that has had a little work done on it. Absolutely love it with 1 exception. When I turn on the ac or heat It blows a 10 amp fuse that goes to the blower relay. It was occasionally now it's all the time.Blower ok, fan speed resistor ok. What or where to look.

View 4 RepliesRecently, I lost function of brake lights, turn signals, and hazard flashers. All happened at the same time. Some threads discuss flasher relays, short steering column wiring (position of steering wheel), and fuse failures.
I checked #18 fuse and a few others. All had continuity. I assumed my bulbs were all good. My hazard push-pull switch did not feel right. There didn't seem to be engagement. At this point, there was a good chance that the multi-function column switch had failed so I decided to try replacing it. I'm happy to report that this switch was the cause of all the light function failures and now, all is well again.
Removal is done by prying the key lock switch cover off,, removing three 1" Philips head screws that attach the lower column shield to the upper shield. At that point the upper shield can be completely removed. The lower shield was not totally removed because the tilt lever was left on. The switch is attached to the column with two 3/4" Torx 20 fasteners. The upper is easily accessible and the lower fastener can be removed by pulling the lower column shield down so access can be achieved. The two wiring harnesses have a conventional harness lock to depress and the connectors pull outward from the switch. Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the dowel locator and small plastic dowel on the lower shield.
I got an 03 f250 with a 10 inch lift on 40x14.50 tires on 20x10 fuel hostage wheels. They rub my springs pretty bad when trying to make even the slightest kind of tight turn and the sound they make when they rub is even worse than them actually rubbing. My question is should i stay with this tire and wheel setup and try to get some 6061 billet aluminum 2 inch spacers? (I'm not sure about going that route though because of what i heard about spacers) or go down to some 38s with a 20x14 wheel that hopefully would push the tire away from the hub like spacers would do. I'm leaning more towards going to 38s because of the rubbing and also because I feel they might look better on the 10 inch lift rather than the 40s but dont know whats the best thing to do.
View 12 RepliesI have 99 f350 single rear wheels 4x4 . I went to start it this morning and it would crank but not start b/c it was cold. I plugged it in and still wouldn't start then it wouldn't even crank. I checked all fuses swapped relays and I have new batteries. The last thing I did was hit on the starter a few times and it started. So I went and bought a new not remand a new starter and put it on and now it won't crank!? I get 12v at the little wire on the selenoid on the fender. So now what?
