Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2002 F250 - AC Blows Cold For About 15 Minutes Then Air Gets Really Warm

I am the proud owner of a 2002 F250 Super Duty 4x4, which has 158K miles on it. I live in South Florida and use the truck as my daily driver and also from trips up into the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Recently, I noticed that when I have the A/C on it blows nice and cold for about 15 minutes, but then the air gets really warm. I had the system checked and the Freon levels are right where they should be. A bit of experimenting reveals that if I turn off the A/C for about 10 or 15 minutes after it starts to blow warm air, the systems blows cool air as it is supposed to.

Therefore, I suspect that something is freezing under the hood and preventing the system from operating properly. Since A/C is pretty well essential for us in south Florida, this is a problem, when I have the family or customers in the truck.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: A/C Blowing Warm Air?

this doesn't make any since to , what's going is, sometimes the AC starts blowing warm air, I found out if I goose it I can hear what sounds like the damper door slamming shut, then AC starts blowing cold again. I changed out electric vacuum pump, but it still does it, starting to get worse & its hot.

Truck is a 2002 f250 powerstroke, the way I understand it, is only thing vacuum pump is supposed to control is AC & 4 wheel locks, my truck is only 2wd. I don't understand why when when I goose it ,it goes to working, what can I do to fix this.

I just found out the " heat and cool "adjustment is electrical, not vacuum, it goes to something under dash, but what it is, heat strip, reastat(sp)??? where and what damper am I hearing. It is not like heater is on ,not that hot, feels like ambient temp, I am at a loss...

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: AC Will Go Warm / Compressor Disengaging

With the few hot days we have had here lately, I have noticed that after about a minute the AC will go warm and I will have to rev the truck up when it does to get it cold again. It seems the compressor is disengaging. I noticed that the condenser has a big gash with a tube ripped open on top. I know it needs to be replaced, but could that be causing the compressor issues? It's a 2003 7.3L.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: A/C Blows Warm Air Then To Cold Air

2007 F350 Dually, 6.0L

AC will blow cold, then shift to blowing warm, muggy air, then back to cold. Seems to be some relationship with throttle movement. Cruising steady ac seems normal. Multiple throttle shifts in changing traffic seems to trigger the warm air. Once accelerate back to normal cruise, can feel clutch/compressor shift and blows cold again.

Any ideas? I have read a possible cause can be the ac clutch can wear and need to remove spacers? Is this a DIY job? What about the ac clutch relay switch? On reading an online repair manual, seems that the clutch is magnetic, and if no battery power to clutch, it removes itself from compressor?

Just had an EGR delete kit installed. Any relationship to this and ac problem?

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2001 F250 - Engine Will Not Warm Up

Its a 2001 f250 with a 5,4. I just recently put a new shot block in it, the short block is a svt short block for an 01 lightning. every thing off old motor went on new svt block just fine, and it drop in just fine. only it will not warm up i let it run for 45 min the other day and on the gauge it would not come past the c. and i do believe the gauge to be accurate because the heat in the cab sucks and the top rad hose is just warm, not as hot as it should be. I've already put 2 new thermostats in it so I don't believe that to be the issue either.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Luke Warm Air Blowing When In Max Heat

My manual heat/cold adjustment dial is working fine and transitions from heat to cold readily. However when in max heat, it is blowing luke warm. The higher the RPMs going down the road the warmer it blows (still not near as hot as normal), then idling at stop lights or in park it goes back to warm only.

My engine temperature is running normal at all RPM levels while driving and idling. Partially clogged heater core maybe, where higher RPMs force more water through it? I assume its not the water pump or thermostat since my operating temperature is staying normal...

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2004 F450 Stalls When Warm

I've got a 2004 f450 6.0 diesel. This thing will start and run great when it's cold. Then when it gets to operating temp, around 190, it will shut down. This is getting worse and worse.

A little history, it was doing this for awhile and a had a few other issues before this. Puking antifreeze, stiction issues, and bad exhaust manifold. Since it wasn't running great I figured why not pull that cab and take care of these issues.

As of last week she got new head gaskets, new exhaust manifold, new injectors, updated standpipes, updated dummy plugs, new o rings on hpop (yellow on the bottom), and a new pipe to the oil pump. I have the old style it's not the stc fitting.

All that work, it still stalls when warm. I monitor with a scan gauge 2. ( Big diesel tech Ron's fan) ...

First thing, give here two second crank start right up, runs better then ever. Gets to operating temp, rev it up, then stalls. Ipc is at 85% ipr gets up to 180 psi.

Unplug ipc, shows 765 psi on the ipr still no start. Put shop air to her and I can't hear any leaks ( probably 15 mins or so).

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Buzz When Try To Crank - Always Start After 1 To 2 Minutes

Have been having issues with my truck starting for the last few months. Happens cold or hot. When I try to crank all I hear is a buzz and the starter trying to insert, but it doesn't. Just a tap. Has been happening the last few months here and there. Have always started after 1-2 minutes of trying. Yesterday went for a 60 mile drive and car didn't start after I parked. Tried for a good hour and decided to leave it and it fix the next day. In the morning, the trunk started on the first crank.

Drove home and parked. Tried to restart and nothing. Went to work and came back at night and nothing. I was just going to take out starter and have it tested and replace if needed. Also, will replace the starter solenoid. Have replace both of these the last 2 years with parts from Napa Auto Parts. Have a lifetime warranty for starter. How often do these parts need to be replaced? What my issues are or what else should I replace for preventative maintenance?

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2004 F250 6.0 - After 10 Minutes A/C Not Working?

My A/C has been working fine up til the end of last season and getting worse now. It comes on and blows really cold, then after a bit a electrical connection gets hot and looses contact somewhere. I can turn it off for about 5 miles then turn it back on, May last the rest of the day, may only last 10 min, then turn it back off, wait 10 min, turn on, does great! I thought it might be a dampener door,, but does the same whether in defrost, regular A/C, or max, so I think it has got to be a electrical connection getting hot and loose.

2004. F250 FX4. 198,000 miles,,,, runs great,,, just a little hot driving!!!

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Luke Warm Air When HVAC Controls Turned To Hot

When my hvac controls are turned to hot, I'm getting only luke warm air. When moved over to cold it feels like the a/c is on...granted it is 21 degrees here. What I've done so far:

1. Flushed the coolant system at the local COOP TBA

2. Flushed heater core-Both heater hoses are hot to the touch as well as the heater core itself. The hoses are within 10 degrees of each other tested by an infrared temp gauge.

3. Verified the blend door actuator is moving. I can see it spin while attached to the box as well as I pulled it out and plugged it in it will move from hot to cold.

4. Smacked the #$%! out of the blend door box.

The fan still functions as it should from low to high. The truck also gets up to operating temp as usual.

Is it possible the actuator is still faulty even though it moves and not going all the way to the heat side? I considered picking up a replacement but I hate to start throwing parts at it.

Did the blend door give up? The snow is here and I need the heat for those 4am waterfowl hunting trips.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: F250 - AC Not Working Properly / Warm Then Cold

I have a 1999 F250 7.3 Diesel and my AC isn't working properly. On Max AC as you're driving it would be ok and then it would be warm and then cold and then warm and then cold and so on. I've noticed that the clutch stays engaged as well. I've never seen it disengage. The freon is at the level it needs to be. Then just a few days ago, if you have it on Max and High the air disappears from the vents and you hear a noise somewhere in the dash on the passenger side. I think something might have come off?? What's wrong with my AC with it going from cold to warm constantly? I heard that maybe clutch has too big of a gap?? I have almost 200,000 miles on it.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2013 F250 - AC Cycles Between Cold And Warm Air

I have 1700 miles on my truck and the A/C cycles between cold and warm air. I have taken it to 2 Ford dealers and they agree there is something wrong but their tests are apparently up to Ford specs. They logged complaints with Ford and they were told this was by design with the new trucks and it was normal for the compressor to constantly cycle. New 2013??

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2004 F250 V10 Runs Rough When Warm

2004 F250 V10, runs good until it warms up whether it's hot or cold outside. While on freeway, it really shakes while cruising, but of you get in the gas enough for a kick down, seems to be pretty smooth. I've changed the coils, and 9 plugs (one wouldn't budge, but the others I took out looked fine) to no effect. Where else should I look? Also, no CEL, and no codes, which seems odd as bad as it feels...

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Intermittent Stall When Driving / Won't Start For 30 Minutes

I've been having an intermittent stall-out problem with my 2003 F250 5.4L (160k miles). The truck has been retired from DD to farm duty, hauling, and towing only. Over the past 9 months, the truck has stalled-out on me 3x while driving. I will be driving along sometimes at highway speed, sometime slower, and everything will die: no PS, lights go on all over the dashboard. It will not restart right away. I have to wait at least 20-30min to restart it and then everything is fine for several weeks and hundreds of miles.

There are no codes and I have been unable for reproduce it/cause it to happen purposely. My mechanic has changed the Crankshaft Position Sensor, and checked the fuel rail pressures. I also checked all the harnesses and fuses, cleaned the battery terminals, looked for vacuum leaks, and gave it a good look-over. The following are new: battery, IAC valve, fuel filter. After searching the forum I also pulled the fuse box and examined the integral fuel pump relay: it and the board looked perfect, no bulges, cracks, discoloration, etc.

My mechanic thinks this is more likely an ignition problem than a fuel delivery problem.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Idles Really Rough When Its Cold / No Power For About 10 Minutes

Need this software that would be willing to run a diagnostic on my truck? I replaced all the glow plugs a year ago and the relay a month ago. It idles really rough when it's cold (first start of the day with outside temps even at 90 degrees). It has no power for about 10 minutes. Sounds like an old John Deere 2 cylinder tractor for a few minutes. I have 370K miles on it. After it warms up it runs good. Plugging it in doesn't make a difference. There is no smoke while it is warming up. I have noticed when I accelerate quickly, it blows black smoke (not heavy but when following it you see and smell it).

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Sudden Hissing Noise For About 2 Seconds Happens Once Every 5 Minutes Or So

Minor noise, and it might be normal. When I have my air on, I get a sudden hissing noise for about 2 seconds, and it happens once every 5 min or so, almost to the second. Not that loud. like a blow-off valve noise, almost. Sounds like it's coming from the passenger dash area. No other ill affects that I've noticed. Not to be confused with the popular wind/intake whistle that some have. Any theories? Almost sounds like a drop of water landing on a belt, and spinning dry. But it happens on dry days too, I think.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2001 F250 - Heater Blow Warm For The Most Part

Sunday I bought a 2001 f250/5.4 to replace my 91 f250. I didnt drive it yesterday, but this morning on my drive to work the heater was very weak, it seemed to blow warm for the most part, but was barely pushing air even on high. I flipped it over to A/C to see if it blew any harder and it did. Does the blower motor need replace? if so why does the AC blow harder than the heater?

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: F250 - Heat Is Not Very Warm After Engine Is Fully Up To Temp

Truck is a 1999 F-250 with manual climate control with A/C.

Heater core issue:

Heat is not very warm after engine is fully up to temp. Would like to back flush the heater core without damaging or making it leak. How should I do this safely?

Secondly, if I do make it leak, how hard is it to change out?
