The interior lights, radio, and power window gauges and the ignition buzzer on my 2002 F350 quit working. What could cause this? Everything else still works.
View 7 RepliesIhave a 2004 F350 4x4 Dually diesel. While in my hay field I hit a small rut and the truck bounced. About two seconds later all gauges and lights/windows quit working and the truck ran rough. I have a Banks system and it registered a code 33. Maybe 32 error. Book says it is an airbag deployment. They did not deploy. So I drove out of the field and turned it off to see if that would reset the gauges. No, not only that but the gauges all swept the faces from off to full to off and the truck would not start, just chatter.
I disconnected both batteries and waited. Reconnected and it started, but the gauges quit after 10 seconds..... Everything flatlined even the banks IQ. But the truck kept on running. Got back to the ranch and the batteries went flat overnight... Charged them up, starts fine gauges work but alternator puts out 11.5.
Question: How easy is it to replace the key switch - do I need any special tools? Is there a way to upgrade to one which requires an encrypted RFID key? Or is there an easier fix to my problem below?
Background: On my '05 SD, I am getting a weird problem where the ignition switch chimes Key-In sometimes when there is no key. I can get this to go away by fidgeting with the key switch, but since I am going to be installing a remote start / security system, I need to fix this...
I just bought a 2007 f350 lariat and my radio, pwr Windows and the 2 lights beside the dome light don't work either... it looks like there was a new relay put in recently.... Is this some kind of wiring problem or where to start looking..or what might be my problem... I am clueless when it comes to wiring .
View 3 RepliesI have a 2000 F350 4x4 with 7.3L diesel and a manual transmission. While driving home yesterday my gauges (fuel, temp, volts, oil pres) stopped working. Within a couple min the speedometer and the tach also stopped working, but the truck was still running fine. Within a couple miles the engine stopped running, just like I had turned the engine off.
After having it towed home I checked all the fuses, none are blown, but there is no power to fuse #16 (15A, instrument cluster, high beam head lamp). Also in the fuse box under the hood, again, no fuses are blown, but fuse #9 (left head lamp low beam) and #11 (right head lamp low beam) have no power to them.
I have a 1999 f250 crew cab. About 6 months ago my drivers side window quit working in the up position(lucky me) and last week I got around to fixing it . I just ordered a new window motor instead of the whole regulator and installed it and it worked perfect for 4 days and today it suddenly quit again. What would cause a window motor to go out again so quick? Everything else seems to be fine and there is power to it so I'm assuming it's the motor.
View 2 RepliesI can not hear the radio in my 2011 F350 XLT. I don't know what radio options there were for the XLT but mine has a Sync USB port, Bluetooth, steering wheel controls, CD player but it does not have a big display or touchscreen or anything like that.
When I try to adjust the volume with either the steering wheel or the radio dial, the indicator shows the volume is at half but the volume will not go up or down. I can hear nothing. All other buttons appear to work.
Have Inaccidentally gotten into some more that doesn't allow it to play any sound or adjust volume or is something just flat out wrong?
My air conditioning on my 02 is having a issue, when you first start it and run the ac all is well and it cools perfect but then after a while it will quit working all together no more cold air, shut it off for a bit then it starts working again and repeats the process, charge is fine, been doing this all summer, it verys on how long it will work somethings for 5 minutes other times 40 minutes give or take, any thoughts?

View 3 RepliesA quick trip from Tulsa to Dallas and back over the weekend...1st time the 2011 F350 diesel dually has been on the highway in a few months. Going down Friday night the speed control worked fine but on the trip home Saturday, the speed control will turn on....yellow light on dash is on. Press SET, the speed control light turns green, but it will not maintain the speed... just like it is not on at all. Did not take time to stop and shut off the engine to try to reboot, and I may go out now and it will work just fine... But, hat might be going on?

View 6 RepliesI have a 2004 350. Turn signals quit working don't come up on dash either but when I turn the flashers on the left turn signal on come on that's on the dash and the lights. I replaced the turn signal relay that's under the radio. The old one would buzz when I turned the turn signal on but nothing would come up the new one clicks as it should but I'm still not getting turn signals lights on dash nor the light it's self. The flasher is still like it was only the left one comes on.

View 5 RepliesI have a 2002 F350 V10 and one night I turned the headlights on and when the ignition switch was turned to the off position the lights would go off. When the ignition switch is turned off the lights come back on. I changed the ignition switch but the problem still exists.
View 3 RepliesI have a 7.3l 02 f450. The wipers won't work on any low speeds and only on the fastest will they work. And if you switch it from the fastest to any other speeds, the wipers stop right where they are.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2002 F250, 5.4 extended cab 4x4. Factory lights. I have no turn signals. They were working just fine and without turning off the truck, all 4 corners quit working at the same time, as far as I know. The indicator lights on the instrument cluster don't work. I have checked/replaced all fuses. Replaced the switch lever and the blinker relay behind the dash. The hazards do work and always have. It might be coincidence but I believe the back-up lights quit working at the same time.
View 2 RepliesTroubleshooting a problem with friend's 2000 F250. His power windows aren't working and are causing problems with his door locks and interior lights. When he tries to use his drivers side power window, his power door locks quit working. If he puts the switch to raise, the interior lights flash. From what I've read, it sounds like the GEM to me, we've inspected the wiring and it all looks good. I pulled it out today and it looks good inside, no sign of water leaks on it. If it is the gem, how much do they cost and do they require programming?
View 5 Replies08 F-350 Lariat. Folded mirrors in twice today. Second time they would not come back out. After four hours the fold function has not returned. As I read Owner's Manual, if it's a fuse it should take out power to driver's seat . . . correct? All other mirror functions including telescope seem to work normally. So if I've identified the fuse correctly what else could it be? Fold relay? Switch? Where is the fold relay located and how can one test it? What pins on the switch are the fold pins? I just looked at power distribution box schematic. Power fold mirror relay fuse is there. Apparently the only function it has. Better go check it out.
View 5 RepliesI have an 02 F350 7.3 ... I just installed my glowshift tripple gauge pillar set. I have an EGT, Boost and fuel pressure gauge ... I followed all the constructions on installing them. The boost is working just fine and the EGT was too, but after a while the needle started going back and forth and the red warning light what blinking and then it just sat at 0 with the warning light on and stay that way. My fuel pressure gauge is connected to a sensore i put in my fuel filter housing, my fuel pressure gayge right from the start stayed at 30 psi with the red warning light on and just stays there .... Also the buttons to change the color and set the peak on the EGT gauge are sticking for some reason and staying down and aren't letting me change the color ...

View 4 RepliesAll of a sudden my cluster light don't work. Like my all my warning lights work fine. Just when I switch my headlights on my cluster doesn't want to light up green anymore or the green lights for my climate controls. It's a 2002 F350 with a 5.4 in it. Where to start looking?
