I have a 2011 ford ranger XL and I get no high beams. My low beams work fine but when I try to either activate the high beams or pull for the flash to pass they do not illuminate and the indicator on the dash doesn't come up either. I have replaced the fuse with a fresh one, even though it didn't need to be replaced, and also replaced the headlights as well cause one was burnt out.

View 7 RepliesI have no High Beams and the little blue light does not come on in the dash. I also do not have flash to pass. I searched through the older posts and found other similar problems but their dash indicator came on. I changed both bulbs this morning and checked the 2 fuses in the panel (#4 & 8 I believe.)
What to check next? I don't see how you would get the headlight switch out of the dash to change it, the fuse panel is directly behind it. Does it get moved to access the switch? Should I be looking at the dash on/off switch first or the column lo/hi/flash to pass switch?
Ranger wont fire! fuel pumps not pumping..... Jumped fuel pump relay and got both pumps working, but while jumping relay and cranking motor, still no fire. Plenty of fuel pressure though. got spark too. Replaced relay and no pumps working while key is turned to run or while cranking. I got to get this sweet puppy back on the tarmac...
View 7 RepliesMy high beams went out a few months ago on my 2008 prius. They told me it was the relay. I just replaced it today with a relay from advanced auto parts. My highs work now. But as of 2 hours ago I noticed my lows are no longer coming on. A few days ago I picked up the car after having aftermarket hids put in. The lows were working then highs still no. A few weeks ago I had some other relays replaced and they told me the cap was off and water got in it.
So could it be that my low relays have gone bad now too. It seems weird right when I fix my highs my lows stop working. If its possible I want to try a new relay to see if that fixes it. But I need the part number and location in the relay box. I can post a picture of the inside of my relay box, can't point to which one it is. I am sure it even has the part number on it.
Prior to me switching out the high beam bulbs, they were both aiming correctly. After I switched out the bulbs, both high beams are aiming up in trees literally. They arent even close to lighting up the street/pavement. I was wondering if I may have installed them somewhat cockeyed but I thought it was odd that I would have done both of them the same since they are both equally up in trees/same overall height.
View 2 RepliesLow beams work fine. When I push the Multi-Function lever on the column forward to activate the high beams, I have no lights at all. When it is in low beam (middle) position, low beams work fine. When I pull back for click to pass, only the low beams are active. No high beam indicator in instrument cluster. I have:
1. Replaced both headlight bulbs
2. Replaced the multi-function switch on the column. Checked test pins on switch (MF) they are hot when in either high beam position or click to pass position
3. checked fuses (interior)
#8 - power on both sides of fuse
#16 (15a) High beam headlamps, instrument cluster. ***NO POWER ON EITHER SIDE***
4. checked fuses (engine compartment)
#10 - power on both sides
#21 - Power on both sides
#23 - power on both sides of fuse
Description: It will crank over forever but not start. New timing belt water pump, etc, so it is not timing. tried different fuel pump relay. no luck. new fuse no luck. The radio fuse also shorts and blows when I change it. Headlight does not come on, but the cabin "ding ding ding" sound plays. Marker, turning, reverse, and brake lights work.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT does not come on during key turn. I may know what caused it or it may not. Before all of this happened, my audio system fuse under the hood blow. It blew again after I installed a new fuse (immediately).
One day, the wires on a portable cigarette light pump snapped and the two wires had been touch. I noticed the truck stalled several times when letting off the gas and coming to a rolling stop. The fuel pump relay makes a click noise when I turn the key
I just bought a 98 F150 V6 Manual transmission 2wd truck. Its a clean truck and I'm liking it so far but its got a couple minor issues. Whats the point of buying a truck if you don't get to work on it??
The High Beams don't work at all. Low beams are fine. I've put new bulbs in, and fuse 16 in the passenger compartment has continuity. I'm suspecting the multiple function switch, because when I pull out to engage the high beams, nothing happens. The indicator on the dash doesn't come on, and the low beams don't turn off either.
The second issue is the coolant gauge doesn't read. When I turn the key to the on position, the needle on the gauge moves up just a bit, but it never moves after that. Anything to check?
There are a couple other minor things like the e-brake light on the dash doesn't always turn on, but I can deal with that.
I just bought a 2011 Tiguan S. Loving it so far, but I can't seem to get the high beams to stay on? I'll pull on the lever and it'll go on but then will snap back. I thought it was strange since none of the cars in our family does this. I tried turning it on with the headlights turned on as well and it wouldn't work.
View 3 RepliesI just got my grandpa's 2002 Ford Ranger Edge after waiting years to obtain it. It runs great the only problem is that there is NO power to the radio what so ever. The truck belonged to the family and every one drove it but no one knows what happened.. There is no power to Fuse 28 however 12V to all other fuses that have to deal with the radio.
View 12 Replies2000 Model, The fuse keeps blowing on this. I thought it was the cruise control fuse because the cruise kept not working and when I replaced fuse it would work. Only for a little though, then I looked at manual and it says the fuse is for the brake position switch. I am presuming this is just like the old days and that is the brake light switch under the dash. They use to have two wires now there is like five. Anyways I do not see any bare wires or anything that would blow a fuse, is it common for these switches to go out or what??
View 13 RepliesMy dad's 1991 Ford ranger 3.0 2wd just died on him when he was driving home and I checked to see if the truck had a spark and it did not so I replaced the ignition control module, then ignition coil, then distributor and rotor cap(plug) and I put new plugs and wires on it a few months back too. I also checked to make sure that the timing chain was working as well (while I had the distributor cap off). Then I realized that the EEC maxi fuse was blown. I then found a fourm that said it might be the relay so I replaced the EEC and the fuel pump relays while I had them both out. Every time I put a new 30 amp fuse in the EEC slot and turn the key to start it the fuse blows and the truck won't start. What might be wrong?

I am going to be installing HIDS in the next week or so so I located a vag com disabled the drls and enabled Xenon without the shutter. now no high beams. they will only work with the car off and pull back the switch instead of pushing it forward.. I'm sure there are ppl on here with HIDs and there high beams working on a b6.

View 40 RepliesSo I just put in 6000k hid's in my 2011 Sonata Turbo and I want to make my DRL's brighter as well as my high-beams brighter. Is this possible? Also, I'd like to make my fog lights match my HID's, but don't know if I should put HID's in there or LED's.
View 18 RepliesI had to replace the tie rods in my mazda b2300 and the mechanic also replaced the brake pads.
Now when I drive, I can hear the pump for the brake fluid going on and off when I'm not even using the brakes and the ABS goes on a lot too.
He tried resetting the computer by unplugging the battery for a bit but it's still doing it.
I have checked fuse 46 and 47, and installed new headlight bulbs. I have high beams, but no low beams. I have searched this topic but no one has the same prob it seems. My headlight switch has broken. Could it be the headlight switch?
In my manual, it says the 2002 has a fuse panel behind the glove box. I took glove box out but it doesn't look like a fuse panel.
I recently installed new halo HID headlights in my 2003 f150 with HID bulbs and ballast the passenger side worked and the drivers side didn't nth lights wired exactly the same. I switched everything from the passenger to the drivers side still nothing I switched everything back to passenger side and they don't work now. I tired regular bulbs in the passenger side an it worked then on the drivers side and it worked for a split second and went out and then I retried t on the passenger side and it worked for a split second and went out a now neither are working. I checked all the fuses and their good. What the problem could be?
View 5 RepliesFuse #41 keeps blowing...scan tool says o2 sensor heater circuit malfunction. Problem is that when the o2 sensors are unplugged it keeps blowing fuse the second I hit the key. Where this short would be? I can't find a wiring diagram anywhere. ( I'm new to this forum and I'm sure there is a sticky somewhere..
