Tow/Haul button fallen off of the console shifter? Not really happy that my Platinum has a falling headliner, buttons falling off, mirrors are barely swinging in and out anymore, leaking cab, etc. I know of the third brake light problems and expected the mirrors to quit but looking for information on the button falling off or the headliner.
View 4 RepliesIve noticed while looking at online photos of the 2011 F150s, that on the FX4 and above trim levels, there are 2 sets of buttons on the center gear shifter. On mine, there is only one for tow/haul mode. I can make out in the pictures that its still there, but what is the other button?
View 10 RepliesI drive a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. The car has had some electrical problems going back about a year and a few months that I have neglected to fix. The first problem was with the shifter not being able to move out of park without hitting the button inside the center console to do a shift lock override, which started last August.
The second problem was with the ignition not being able to release the key without hitting a switch inside the ignition, which started back in the Spring. I have just been rolling along promising to eventually address those, but yesterday the car radio stopped functioning. Then this morning the car would not start.
The electrical system comes on just fine (save the radio), but when I go to start it the car just clicks over. I did not leave any lights or switches on, so I am assuming it must be some sort of problem with the electrical system.
Will be towing about 5k to Fla. in march from Chicago area. have 2011 F150 SCrew 3.73. max tow package , ecoboost. Wondering to use tow/haul all the time or just using it in the hilly parts of Tenn. Have heard that running in overdrive will mess up the tranny.

Should we always use tow haul when towing? Should we use it only on hills? Can we use cruise control at the same time as we are using tow haul?

How to insulate these radio bezels with felt or some kind of insulation so the noise is dampened? I think any rough road tends to make them creak and the hooks tend to rub against the plastic..

The button does not slide through the bottom, like the snow and traction buttons, it is too wide. So it has to come off at the top, but how?

Then this weekend my 2 year old was sitting in the front seat while I was loading my bicycle on the back and the truck rolled forward a little. View 12 RepliesFor the last week now, the whole center console (navigation, radio, climate controls, etc.) on my 2012 F150 will just go out while I'm driving. Sometimes it will come back on in a few seconds, sometimes it takes 5-10 minutes, sometimes I have to turn the vehicle off and then back on.
I have the extended warranty through Carmax, so I am covered through 100K. I took it into them and the screen was off, and the person checking in the vehicle confirmed it was not working. But of course, when the technician restarted the vehicle, it was working and he has no idea what is wrong nor how too diagnose it since it is working.
I have a 2013 Ford F150 XLT Supercrew with the 'jump' seat in the middle. When I fold down the center seat, I hit my elbow while driving and turning.
I'm contemplating removing the center jump seat and replacing it with a Ford center console. Is it just a matter of removing the center jump seat bolts, then bolt in the new center console?

Never really intended to tow heavy with my truck. But heavy towing seems to have found me. I've been hauling dump trailers to the local demo site and I've been toying the scales at the site between 21,000 and 28,000 lbs (way more than I want to haul, but my boss is a cheap jerk and won't stop loading the trailer until the straps barely make it over the trailer). My intent is to dump the thing right where he loads it next time he does it, as I've asked him to quit putting my wallet and maybe life in jeopardy.
Any way, my tow haul button hasn't worked through any of this. Am I murdering my tranny? The engine seems to grunt through just fine. But I'm worried about the fact that it doesn't down shift to go up hills.
I have a 2005, f350 6.0. I am new to owning a diesel and have a lot to learn. My truck runs excellent and has no issues,until I push the tow haul button in! It starts bucking at 2,000rpm and my rpm's shoot down to a low rpm and jump back up to a higher rpm. It's like the truck wants to shift but the tow haul is enabling it so it falls on its face i have never heard a truck or seen a truck act like this, but everyone says you don't want to pull with an automatic without the tow haul. I have just been leaving the tow haul off and the ruck pulls just fine.
View 8 RepliesThe media button on SYNC quit working last week(2010 F150, six cd player, no navigation). No voice commands or phone, also can not perform the "Master Reset" because the phone button on dash does not work. I have had this issue before and pulling fuse 13 for a couple of minutes always fixed it. Pulling the fuse no longer fixes the problem. I also tried disconnecting the battery.
I left the cable off overnight and still no luck. I came across a similar problem being fixed by a ACM reprogramming TSB (SYNC (possibly) Fixed by TSB 11-10-22) on a another forum. Do reprogramming working on a dead SYNC system when the hard reset was tried and did not solve the problem? Dealer did not want to reprogram ACM and told me need a new APIM.
I have added the upfitter switches to my FX4 but used all of the switches for accessories. Need to start using the round buttons but don't know the plug number/pigtail for round buttons.
What the plug number/pigtail is for the "off road/hill decent" round buttons on the raptor upfitter console? I don't want to spend money for the harness when I only need one connector. The tiny pins on the switch are too small.
I have a 99 silverado 4x4 with a 5.3l that has 118,000 miles. I just noticed the other day that my tow/ haul button is not working....I really do not tow much, but i would like to get it fixed. where does to go from the lever??? is there a sensor or motor to engage this on the tranny somewhere or is it built in the tranny???... is this a major deal or should i leave it alone and deal with it being broken???

Someone had posted that they had gotten a replacement from their dealer. I went to my dealer and all he would sell me was THE WHOLE SHIFT UNIT. All I need is to pop the little cap on top of the shifter, not replace the entire unit.
What I was wondering is if you have gotten just the cap from your dealer, what might the part number be so I can get one.
Well I read most of the 2011 manual last night to find out why I have "M" on my gearshift, & found it near the end...so we can manually shift our gears. So I normally drive in D, and I use the tow/haul switch when trailing...so under what circumstances does the normal person need to manually shift through 5 gear positions using M, and the 5-position switch?
View 7 RepliesI bought a used 2013 F150 Limited. The truck only had 24,000 miles on it and is still under the 36/36 warranty.
I tried to use the rear defroster and the button never stayed on. As I started to investigate the truck through the owners manual I realized that it was supposed to come with heated mirrors, standard equipment on the limited, and it shows them on the VIN build out. It does not have the heated mirrors installed.
I take it to my local dealer to get the rear defroster fixed and have the mirrors installed and the dealer won't do it. I have to call Ford and open a case. I do this and Ford rejects my claim since I bought it used.
To me this shows a very poor business ethic and is disrespectful to a long time loyal Ford customer. To be honest this has really ticked me off and completely turned me off towards Ford.
My Mustang is an automatic. The shifter in the console sticks when changing gears. At times, I have to keep it half way into another gear or else I hear grinding or the car won't go into gear. Is it my transmission or my console?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2005 f250 super duty turbo diesel 6.0 automatic. The problem I'm having is, when I engage the tow/haul button the transmission doesn't down shift unless I feather the pedal. Also the engine will overheat at times. I've replaced the thermostat, but that's all so far.
