Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: Tongue Weight Capacity?

Feb 2, 2012

What the max tongue weight is for a 2012 4x4 screw with the EB and max tow pkg. I talked to the dealer and all he could tell me was the bumper weight. I am buying a trailer that has a tongue weight of approx 950 lbs and want to ensure that it won't have any problems. Which brings me to my next question, with the max tow I think it has sway control, but since I will be towing around 8500 lbs do I need more than that and if so, what?

Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: 2014 - AC Turn On To Full Capacity And Wait Several Minutes For Cool Air

My 2014 Sonata GLS has definite air conditioner problems. It takes some time for it to get cold. I had no problems with my 2011 Elantra - I never had to turn the air conditioner to its highest level. In addition, it cooled almost immediately. However, I have to turn on the Sonata's air conditioner to full capacity and wait several minutes before I get some cool air. When it's 95 degrees out here in Florida, a few minutes can seem like a long time.

Haven't had my car checked yet.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Mount Of Weight Tail Gate Can Support?

I'm wondering what the safe limit is for the amount of weight the tail gate can suppport ?

I need to get some 4x8 sheets of dry-wall and instead of leaving the tail gate down i'd rather have it up and support the pieces, but at 50-60 pounds a sheet I'm somewhat concerned about how many sheets the tail gate can support without causing issues.

The manual says 21000 gcwr and in parenthesis in same column it says 9525. Is this the weight of my truck?

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: 2009 - 4th Gear Intermittent Slip At 88K Miles

Started a while back and comes and goes. Only commonality I have found is the truck needs to be warmed up for it to happen and usually after a few hours of driving. The downshift from 5th or 6th into fourth, at times, produces anywhere from a light to violent clunk, feels like a typical tranny slip. It will do it while in cruise and it will do it if I don't have the cruise on. Can't figure out if it is going to be a tune issue or hardware.

It does it only downshifting into 4th from 5th or 6th, no other downshifting is a problem and usually the 6th to 4th produces the worst results. At highway speeds that is usually a shift from around 2Krpm to just over 3K rpm (6th to 4th) if it is from 5th it is about 2500 to 3K. Start from a stop and go WOT and there are no issues.

Having it in Tow/Haul or not makes no difference as far as I can tell. IT can do it on one hill and the next time be just fine or do it 2-3 hills in a row. After this last trip it will do it at 9K feet or at 60 feet elevation, didn't make a difference there either.

Another issue that may be hurting the computer is the truck originally came with the 235 tires, it now has 285's and the rear is only 3.31. I plan on going with 265's and maybe still a gear change to 3.73's in the future. I usually only notice this on long trips, first was a 1500mile hauling an ATV, second was last week during a 2500 mile empty. Although I have had it do it a few times locally. I figure those bigger tires can't be good especially with that high of a rear for the management system.

Ford - Explorer :: 1994 - A/C Refrigerant Capacity

I'm replacing the compressor and accumulator on my Explorer. I'm having the shop evacuate the system, but they want to fill it with R134, so I'd rather use the cans if I can find out how many ounces it needs. I'm seeing conflicting information on the refrigerant capacity for the 94. Is there an authoritative source, like the factory service manual?

Prius (2010-12) Fuel :: Effect Of Weight On MPG?

Exactly how much effect does weight have on MPG? I remember reading 1 MPG loss per 50 lbs of extra payload for the GII, is that about right for a GIII? (At that rate, I would get about 1.5 extra MPGs if I was as skinny as Tiffany Yep...)

For that matter, what weights do the EPA use for their MPG tests?

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Transmission Pan Capacity?

I was wanting to drain my trans pan and refill with new fluid. I was curious what the pan capacity is. With my 6.0 I did the drain and refill every 10,000-15,000 miles depending on how hard I worked it in those miles. It always drained out bright red and shifted like new until I had a T/C failure at 278,000 miles.

Ford Ranger / B-Series :: 2004 FX4 - Towing Capacity Of The 4x4?

I am looking at buying another ranger. Miss my 02 so much and my son will be 16 in a year or so. Thinking about getting us a 4x4 to share and ditching my full size Dodge.

I located an 04 FX4 II, and I was hoping to get some info and confirmation on a few things. I believe that all the FX4 had a 4.10 rear end. True?

What the exact towing capacity of the 4x4 FX4 is? My 02 (2wd) had a capacity at like 5200lbs, I am just wondering if this is the same number for the 04 4x4?

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Low A/C Pressures While Being Over Capacity

In all fairness, this isn't for my SD, but there aren't really any forums for my '94 Villager and all A/C systems work pretty close to the same, so I thought I'd at least throw my question up here and see what comes of it. It's a bit of a hodge podge of manufacturers (Mercury, Nissan, Ford, Mitsubishi), but it's a Mercury, so technically a Ford.....ish.

My A/C crapped out last summer, so I finally got around to rebuilding it earlier this summer. I replaced absolutely everything except the rear expansion valves and the evaporators, which I flushed out with A/C flush and compressed air real good. Then I blew a line on a dirt road because I didn't get a line all the way clipped in. I got a bit paranoid about grit in the line, so I went ahead and replaced the line and dropped in a new dryer, sucked it all out good again, put a splash of POG oil in there, and filled it up with 134a.

According to the specs I could find, the capacity of my system is 52oz, or 4.3 of the standard 12oz cans. I always bleed the lines between cans to rid the lines of air and moisture as much as I can, so 4.5 cans usually gets about 52oz in the system. Anyways, it was 90 outside, so my readings should be 45-55 and 250-270. After adding 4.5 cans, and letting it run for a bit, my readings were still a bit low and my vent temp was only 60, so I went ahead and finished off the can. They were still reading low, so I sorta reluctantly hooked up another can and started filling. It sucked the whole can right up any my readings were 45 over 220 with vent temp at about 57. The low side is about on the low end of the acceptable range, but the high side still isn't quite up to the desired range and I don't want to stick another can in even though my readings indicate I'm not over-filled. I'm wondering if something's not right in there, or if maybe I'm just expecting too much from a 23 year old A/C design...?

Strolling into work today at 35-45 mph, it was a touch over 80 outside and my vent temp was a smudge over 40, so I guess that's not too bad. My radiator fans works fine, but they don't move a bunch of air. I usually drop an additional ~15 degrees when I'm on the move as opposed to sitting at idle.
