I have a 2012 F150 XL. I don't have a message center, just a 2 line LED readout, and there is nothing in the owner's manual about resetting the "oil change required" message.
View 3 RepliesFor those of you struggling like I was a few minutes ago... Here is a procedure that worked for me.
1. Key ON.
2. Select OK to get rid of OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message.
3. Scroll down to SETTINGS and push OK.
4. Scroll down to VEHICLE and push OK.
5. Scroll down to OIL LIFE RESET and push OK.
6. Scroll to any % other than what you want and push OK.
7. Scroll to what % you want and push OK.
8. Key OFF.
Circumstances required me to make an emergency trip to Phoenix this week. On the way down, I first got the "Oil change soon" warning, followed by the "Oil change required" message a few hundred miles later.
I religiously keep my truck serviced on time, and have never had either of these warnings come up before. My truck had 2700 miles on it since last service was done when this first warning came up. My truck gets very little idle time, so it's not sitting idling for hours a day.
My question is, is this oil change message a result of an actual oil monitoring sensor that measures oil quality on-the-fly, or is it strictly based on a miles or odometer timer that gets reset when dealer changes the oil?
At this point I'm wondering if the kid that serviced my truck either forgot to reset a timer, or worse, just "pencil whipped" my oil change. I have to call my home dealer back, since the service manager wasn't in yet when I called.
I am on top of my oil changes, but this is the first time I have seen the center display flash "change oil soon" and stay on until you hit the OK button. I went through the manual and I cannot find where there is a provision to clear the message. The oil was just changed, has maybe 600 miles on it.
2011 F150 EB lariat with 10,000 on it....
I have a 14 RX with 12,000 miles on it and want to reset the message. I'm not finding anything when doing a search here. Need to reset the message? I'll be doing my own oil changes and tire rotations since the first free dealer oil change and rotation.

View 9 RepliesResetting Throttle Response. I came across this video, bored and just playing around, and tried it on my 2013.......and it works! Turn the ignition key to the run position, then slowly press the accelerator pedal to the floor. Then let the pedal up fast, then turn the ignition off. Do this 3 times, and on the last time, also turn the ignition off. I was amazed that that the lagging pedal response was almost completely gone!
View 4 RepliesThis morning, my 2011 F150, told me that my rear driver side door was a jar on the center console. I opened and closed it several times using the inside handle and the outside handle. It affecting the battery since the interior lights stay on. Is there a way to reset / clean the sensor so that I don't have to take it into the Dealer?.. Their next appoint is mid next week.

How long should it take for the ECU to adjust all the fuel trims to account for the new injectors? Or is it best to disconnect the battery for 30min or so in order to reset the ECU and allow it to learn trims from scratch?
