Noticed today in the snow, I was pulling out of the driveway in 2H and the rear tires broke loose, weird sound coming from the front end like the truck was trying to engage the 4 wheel drive but it wouldn't go in. Traction control? Threw it in 4H and the sound went away????
View 1 RepliesI was loading some 2x4's and one hit the rear tail light housing and broke it easily. Hard to believe it broke so easy. Will be picking up a new one at the dealer! Wish it was made out of high impact plastic . You can't just get the clear cover. You have the buy the whole unit.
View 8 RepliesJust did a brake job on my IS-F. Everything went smoothly for 50 miles, then as I'm pulling into the driveway I hear a horrible grinding from the front.
Disassembled everything this morning and it looks like the pads are in constant contact with the rotor. Is there a set screw I missed? When I did the brake job, I retracted the pistons slightly with a C-clamp, and did not bleed the brakes. What am I missing?

I made a U turn in 1st gear with light throttle and then half way through the turn I nailed it causing the rear to break loose and get sideways. My buddy saw smoke coming from the rear tires too.
Looks like my gas tank door spring busted.
Is that an easy replacement? Any way to fix it? It won't close completely anymore.
I own a 2011 lariat with 500 miles. We have had several days of rain and I am getting alot of rust spots on my driveway always below and inside the right front tire. None in the rear or left front. Dealer said not to worry about it after they looke at the area. They said it is the new metal forming surface rust. There is a skid plate which seems to cover wherever the rust is starting. Should I demand that area be undercoated.
View 3 RepliesI have an 09 screw, 4.6 3v, 3.55, 2wd. Last week, I noticed on the driveway a drip and run stain under the truck. I dismissed it as ac runoff. But it remained and lengthened. I got under it yesterday, and the tranny crossmember has fluid on it. I can't pinpoint where it is coming from. There was no drip either, and the truck was relatively cool. Of course there is no tranny fluid dipstick to check and the tranny pan is intact. It seems to be behind the transmission towards the driveshaft.
View 14 RepliesI have pulled a pop up with my truck before with no problem. I bought a boat on Friday and pulled it too and from the lake ( 2.5 hours each way). The boat is 21 feet and weighs 3000 pounds empty, no gas. The trailer is a bumper pull. I was pulling no more then 4,000. Under 50 mph everything felt fine. At times when going over 50 the truck was shaking. It would happen and then stop. It does not seem to be coming from the engine.
It would happen up hill and down hill. I was thinking it was just the vibration from the boat, can a load that size make the whole truck shake?? Also the truck made a horrible clunk after backing the boat down the ramp and pulling it back up. It happened when I took the truck out of park into drive. This can be something other then the transmission???
I have a 2012 Ford 4x4 crew cab 150 xlt. 15,000 miles. When pulling my dump trailer I was stopping to turn and the transmission disengaged. Once I turned the corner coasting the transmission kicked back in again. During this happening pushing the gas did nothing but rev up engine. My dealer said if this happened that a warning light would of came on or a wrench would appear on dash but it didn't. He said then it didn't happen. This happened 3 times in 10 miles of driving. I had it in tow mode.

View 9 RepliesNoticed lately that pulling into my driveway... the rear suspension creaks a little when it comes from the road into the start of the driveway..the driveway is a little higher than the road and i hear a creak sound. also noticed that coming to a sudden stop at low speed and the weight of the car shifts to the front the rear suspension also creaks a little. is this normal and just me being overly picky because its a lexus? or is there a possible issue... also the days this happened it was pretty cold here so don't know if its a factor but never heard it before...
View 2 RepliesA Little Background, my FICM wasn't bad per se but it would dip below 45 volts when the outside temp was around freezing. I pulled it and sent it for repair at the same time the Atlas 40 tune was loaded into the FICM.
First few days of driving mileage was better, truck ran great. All of a sudden one day pulling into the driveway it randomly shutoff. Two occasions since it has acted goofy at started, bucking a little a low throttle. Mileage has returned to how it was before I had the FICM fixed and ATLAS tune applied. To this point I had no codes at all.
Now today it randomly throws P0341 - Camshaft sensor out of range.
So heres the question - do I replace the sensor or try to get at the harness for inspection? Out of range would usually mean the sensor itself is failing while open circuit is usually wiring related. I know its uncommon for this particular sensor to fail but i'm not sure which direction to go.
I have a 2010 fx 4 cew cab that has a 2" lift on it. I am new to the truck scene, but my wife has always wanted a big truck. I have pro comp tires that are 35 X 12.50X20 LT. They are the Pro Comp Xtreme A/T. The truck is driven evry once in a while and it is never off road. The issue I am having is that the tire wear is really bad and uneven in the front. It has been aligned 3 times in one year and the balance has been checked. I had the lift kit done at the dealership and they are saying this is normal and that the wear is due to not rotating the tires every 3000 miles. If the truck was driven every day I would understand but it only has 10,000 miles on it. Is this normal? The wear looks like a shock could be bad but they have already replaced the shocks about 3 moths after i purchased the truck.
View 14 RepliesI have an APR stage 1+, HPPF, Carbonio intake. First thing EVERY morning my car will give a noticeable hesitation when pulling out of my driveway. After this 1 time event, the car rides perfectly. It happened every day. I was told this is gas pooling or some such issue.

Revved it up, n all that, good to go, took it for a spin around block, died as pulling into driveway. At crank Dashcmd shows 200 psi on HPOP. I'm double checking the gear bolt right now. When I installed the pump I seated the gear by hand n torqued bolt to spec, so idk...

View 9 RepliesWent to leave the grocery store and as im pulling out I can't get out of 4th gear. After I got home I was able to work it into neutral and I can obtain 2nd, 4th and reverse but the throws aren't straight and it won't go into another gear unless you would force it. There is virtually no side to side travel in the shifter. What could this be? I drive my car hard but I've never missed a shift or grinded the clutch and I wasn't beating on it before it happened.

View 2 RepliesI've got a 2009 Azera with 58k. When I'm backing out of the driveway, I start to hear a low squeaking noise right as I'm turning the wheel. It happens right before I get a squeak I recognize as the breaks, so I know it is not that. It only happens when the engine is cold and typically the first or second time I try to turn at low speeds when I'm driving the car. I've had it also happen when I'm pulling out of a parking space at the garage at work.

I noticed that early in the morning, when it's cold, pulling out of my driveway, I hear a clunk from the front end. It doesn't always happen. Also, on the highway, the car feels like it wanders left and right, certainly more than my old B5.5 did, and in general it pulls to the left and the steering wheel sits slightly to the right. I found the following TSB on this site: [URL] .... My question is, this TSB doesn't mention anywhere that an alignment should be performed as part of the service. Should that be done? I'm going to take it to the dealer tomorrow.
