No power to the radio or cd unit. When I push the power button nothing comes on. Also my clock is flashing and I can't set it. What is the problem?

View 1 RepliesI have a 2011 Ford FX4. Lately when I start up the truck I get a grinding type noise that seems to be coming from the 4X4 RCS module in the engine compartment. It stops after about 20 seconds or when I put the truck in gear and start driving. It happens every time I start the truck now.
View 3 RepliesI took my sub and amp out of my SD when i traded it in and I want to put it in my new truck but it has a stock head unit... I am not wanting to put a new deck in so I am curious how to do this with the stock stereo. I have a 2012 f150....
View 14 RepliesExperienced noise coming from the temperature control unit? I generally hear it immediately after turning on AC or Heat and then when I adjust the tempature up or down. It only last for a few seconds then goes away. I plan on taking it by the Ford dealership. 2010 F150 Platinum...
View 7 RepliesI have a 2010 Corolla (purchased December of '09) and just recently the radio has started acting up. Since it got cold last year, it seems after long periods with the heater on, the radio unit display will go haywire. Today, the display did the same thing after my car sat in the sun for a couple of hours (and it was pretty warm inside). Obviously it doesn't make any sense to me, but I thought the display was trying to tell me that it's "too hot" Buttons on the unit will intermittently malfunction as well.
For example, hitting "2" will turn the unit off, pressing another preset number will switch the radio from FM to AM. Keeping the unit off while driving doesn't seem to fix the issue - but it does correct itself after a while.
Having trouble with the radio in their truck? When I started my truck today my radio would not turn on, no AM/FM, CD player, Suris or Aux input. It does not matter what buttons you press. The sync will not work and none of the controls for sync.
The display said Ford Tough then the temperature was displayed, but the clock was flashing on and off. There was no pattern to the clock flashing on and off it could flash once or twice then nothing for minute or two then flashes once to 4 times then nothing. I tried a hard reset by disconnecting the battery for over 15 minutes but it made no difference.
I have a 2013 F150 King Ranch pretty well loaded up. In the last several thousand miles (I have approximately 45,000 miles on it), the AM radio, which I listen to a lot, has the volume go up and down on its own. Very annoying. i took it to the dealer to have it analyzed and fixed and after 3 days, came back and said Ford said to start w replacing antennas (all) @ a tune of approximately $450, WITH NO GUARANTEES! Unbelievable! Then it that didn't work, replace the radio.
Well in reading some forums, it appears this has been going on a long time and it appears that Ford doesn't seem to care. This is the first Ford I've owned and I as a business owner, have owned many, many Chev PU's over the years with no problems. My 2010 Suburban doesn't have this problem w twice the miles.
I recently bought a 2013 F150 xlt. I'm trying to listen to the radio with the truck not running(nascar race). The key has to be on and the doors open so i can hear the speakers. After about 10 minutes the radio shuts off and the display says low battery. My 2010 never did this.I tried putting a trickle charger on the battery and nothing changed.
View 14 RepliesI am looking at installing a CB in my 2012 F150. This thread isn't electronics based, there is already a sub forum for that. This thread is about radio placement. I have a 2012 f150 XLT that I special ordered... meaning I got the front buckets with the center console. I have an old SBE Sidebander IV that was my grandfather's that I am going to swing by the CB shop this week to get checked out. If everything is a go, I will go with that. So, this is a big radio fromm the 70's, not the little tiny things that are sold today.
So, whats a good location? Vertical on the front of the console maybe?
My 2010 f150 with non sync non sony radio w sat cd. Its been losing power this past year. It would just cut out than come back on. The settings would be reset, but not lose station presets. The other day it got stuck on the f150 logo on the display. No radio or other function would work. Pushed power button and nothing. Started an hour later it worked normally. I do have aftermarket amps, but their direct to battery.
View 4 Replies1. Radio randomly switches channels either one up or one down.
2. Steering wheel radio controls completely inoperable for first 10 min of driving-has happened about 3x
3. Voice activation of sync system unresponsive even when talking very loud and clearly.
I just bought this 2013 F150 and when I turn the key off within a few seconds the radio turns off and the screen says "battery saver, start the truck or ...". What does that mean? I want to listen to the radio with the truck not running. Is something wrong or is it a setting somewhere? The windows will still go up or down for about 10 minutes.
View 14 RepliesMy 2010 F150 Lariat Supercrew stated this beep yesterday. Every 15 seconds I get one beep. It seems to be coming from the radio, and the louder the radio is, the louder the beep. Even with the radio off, I can still hear it.
I've done lots of searches on this topic, but they all seem to be related to an airbag system issue, where there are 5 beeps in a row. Mine is just one short beep every 15 seconds. Can't find anything in the owners manual about this either.
Adding a sub and put it under the front seat? I know a lot of people put it under the rear but i don't want to sacrifice cargo carrying space under the fold up seat in my 2012 Supercab. I was considering a Kicker 8" Hideaway. I don't need pounding base. Just more base.
View 1 Replies2011 F-150 Classic Sync w/ satellite factory radio. A few hundred miles over warranty the radio controller side of the steering wheel buttons has randomized, where the buttons each do a different function, but none of them turn the volume down. Volume Up changes the source, volume down = up, etc. The cruise control side seems to still work.
I have disconnected the battery cable and also done a software reset on SYNC. Read on on other forums to disconnect the air bag and open the steering wheel to spray electrical cleaner in there, or for other radio problems to pull fuse #2. Is this a ghost in the machine type issue?
Also, I have had the truck in for service one time already for the driver door speaker fading out when turning right at specific volume levels. They put in a new speaker which resolved it until the warranty ran out and now it happens again. Could both of these be indicative of a bad radio, or deeper wiring problems?
I have a 2013 XLT with a sirius enabled radio. my display works (time, date, shows bluetooth connected) but no sound is coming out of the system. What this could be? i tried replacing the cd player/motherboard but that did nothing... could it be a fuse?
View 6 RepliesI can only get the left front speaker in my 2010 F150 Lariat to work. I've played with the L/R balance and B/F fade.
View 1 RepliesSo I am receiving this notification when I turn my switch on to just have my radio on. I don't have a reason to believe that the battery is bad as I just bought the truck from a dealer last Thursday. Searches come up it is a known glitch in the safety feature that cannot be disabled and is happening with good batteries.
View 14 RepliesMy radio stopped working on my way to work. I heard a loud "pop" of static and then it shut off. I took it to the dealer, which had a hard time fixing it (they had it about 2 weeks), and they replaced all the fuses in the truck and it worked for about a week, but it just stopped again. Not sure what to do.
View 1 RepliesI have a 10' F150 and the radio has frozen. It will turn on but only displays the compass, Ext Temp, and time. All three of those items flash every two to three seconds. The controls in the steering wheel and dashboard no longer work (volume, seek, media, voice control...).
Things I've tried that haven't worked:
1. Turning the radio off and on
2. Restarting the truck
3. Pulling any fuses associated with the radio in the sub fuse box not sure of the technical name).
So as of last night my radio is not cooperating. I had the battery disconnected due to other work on the Ex and now I am having radio problems. When the key is turned the radio "buzzes", from the unit itself, not the speakers. It seems as though as soon as power is applied it is trying to eject a disc but no buttons are pressed. It lasts about 15 seconds and then stops. I also have CD error showing on the display. I have read the multitude of issues with the factory head unit but hoping I can fix it, maybe CD is just stuck?
