Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: Light Thump About 1 Or 2 Seconds After Truck Starts Driving

I am having a strange issue with my truck. It is a f150 2009 xlt ext cab 4x4 5.4 liter

For the past 2 weeks I've had this light thump about 1 or 2 seconds after the truck starts driving,not really annoying but it kinda got me wondering

Since last week it makes a weird scraping noise from the rear end when coming to a stop (10-0 kmh) it doesn't do it all the time though

For a couple days now it makes this terrible squeaking/scratching/whatever(very loud) noise from the rear end when i accelerate from a dead stop, the one time when i crossed a highway, last night when i backed out of a parking spot (again not all the time).

Also when driving through a parking lot,hitting a few bumps and dips I can hear a rattling noise coming from underneath the truck.

Transfer case due for replacement? I don't know what this could be.....

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: 2013 FX4 - Light Thump That Would Fade At Times

I am looking at 2013 FX4 with the 5.0 that has 127,000 miles. Truck is pretty clean cosmetically except for the inside of the bed which is pretty rough. When I went to look at the truck I was curious to hear it on initial start up and it was really quiet. I have never heard in person the dreaded knock of the 5.0, only on youtube. After the truck idled for 10min while we talked I did kinda start to hear a little deep but very light thwump, thwump, thwump but it would fade at times and you wouldn't hear anything. I never heard it while I drove the truck. I know there are prob millions of these motors out there and the internet may make it seem worse than it is but would it scare you to buy a 2013 with 127K? I had thought originally that the 2011-2012 were the years with the problems but the latest 5.0 knock thread has me wondering.

2009 F-150 Lariat 4x4 with 5.4L.

My truck will rev no more than three times then idle for about 10 seconds. Then rev 3 times then idle for about 10 seconds. It keeps doing this. For weeks. Idles about 500, revs to 1500. The dealer had it in the shop for 3 days and found nothing wrong with it. I have a video but it won't let me upload it. I don't know what I can do since the DEALERSHIP doesn't even know what to do. Doesn't throw a code.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Truck Starts Then Dies A Few Seconds Later And Battery Light Illuminates

This is concerning my little brothers truck. It is a 2008 4.2 liter with around 55,000 miles on it.

He drove it to work today, and called me this afternoon saying that the truck starts then dies a few seconds later, and the battery light illuminates. He and a coworker checked the battery and connections....cleaned off corrosion on terminals, battery reads 12.xx volts without a load on it, it is the original though.

As of right now he is changing the fuel filter which hasn't been done yet. I also know of issues with the fuel pump driver module. I remember checking the one on my 2005 back when I owned it. As I recall it causes a no start condition, but would it cause a start then stop condition like this? He will check this when he is done with the filter.

Anything else that we can check in a parking lot to try and at least get it home?

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: 2013 - Transmission Downshifting At Odd Times / Truck Takes A Few Seconds To Accelerate

I have notice maybe a dozen times in the last few weeks that my 2013 5.0 Screw downshifts at odd times. It usually occurs while coasting around 35-40 mph (in 4th gear and downshifts to 2nd gear) or around 50 mph (in 5th gear and downshifts to 3rd gear). Obviously when this occurs, the rpms jump and when I get into the gas, the truck takes a few seconds to accelerate because it first must shift into the next higher gear. What is causing this?

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: Loud Noise From Under Truck When Driving At Slower Speeds

Whenever Im driving at slower speeds - parking lots, side streets, etc I get a squeaking/squelching sound coming from somewhere in the front end of the truck. I thought at first it may have been a rattling heat shield someplace under the truck, but now Im not so sure. Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: Truck Running Bad And Check Engine Light Came On

After about 5 miles from my normal place to purchase fuel, My truck bagan to run bad and the check engine light kicked on. Mileage dropped to about 8 MPG. This morning, the truck would not start and after 2 can's of dry gas, I was able to start it (barely).

I stopped at the place where I purchased fuel and at least they admitted that they has to shut down yesterday, stating they received a bad batch of fuel from their source.

Now the fun begins...How do I get the "bad gas" out of my truck?. I now have about 1/4th of a tank. I tried to run a line to siphon the gas and I can not get a line far enough into the tank.

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Truck Starts And Runs For Forty Five Seconds Or So

Trucks been running perfect for 11,000 miles atleast. its last issue was a bad turbo but that was my fault. No issues whatsoever since. 10 miles down the road from work last night truck had a slight miss in between 55-60 for four or five seconds, I put the pedal down and brought it up to 75 or so just to see if it was my imagination and it felt fine so i wrote it off. It ran fine to the house we're working on i wanted to check on before I got home.

Parked it, it idled down to 650 before it came back up to 750 and it never does that and sounded different then it usually does. so i felt something was definitely up. i shut it off, was at the house about a half hour before i decided to head home, started and ran fine, three miles down the road the slight miss came back, it seemed to go away if i got on it pretty good and when i let off but just cruising with slight throttle it had the slight miss.

Got to my road where i had to slow down and turn and it idled down and died. I coasted over, unplugged the icp sensor and it cranked for 10 seconds or so and lazily came back to life. I got it home running decent and parked it. Scanned it with my old super chips tuner and it came up with a p0340 camshaft position code.

Matched my symptoms i felt so this morning i decided id go back to work and grab my spare out of my wrecked truck. truck started and idled perfect. made it to the end of my driveway before the miss came back and then it just died. took the car to work, grabbed my spare camshaft sensor and my maximus scanner, came home scanned it, no returning p0340 cam code but i swapped the camshaft sensor anyway and watched icp and ipr data, the ipr voltage is where it should be and rises while cranking while cranking.

ICP is climbing to almost 3,200 psi and it will begin to run when it peaks out. she'll fire for 45 seconds after 25 seconds of cranking or so and then it'll just die. if it sits for a few minutes it takes a few seconds of cranking before ICP will come off of 0. I've come to the conclusion that it is making high pressure oil it is just dumping it as fast as it can make it. I changed the ipr out because that can do it, it didn't change anything so I'm on to believing an injector is dumping it as fast as possible.

Is it possible for something to come undone inside the injector to make it dump high pressure oil or will a bad o ring cause this? i'm leaning towards a failing injector as when it does fire and run its definitely misfiring and i just put new o rings on them when i swapped them over from my wrecked truck but that was like 45,000 miles ago as well..

720 Output Speed Sensor Insufficient Input

743 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit

745 Pressure Control Solenoid Malfunction

1747 Electronic Pressure Control Solenoid A- Short Circuit

Sounds to me like the converter it locked up. What do you think? Its a 5.4L

So earlier this week i took my truck in for a check engine light and a issue when i would pull up to a Red Light my truck started knocking like a Diesel motor. I quickly put the truck into neutral and the issue went away.

Is there an issue with the 5.4L motors mine only had 69000km and was properly maintained with an oil change every 8000km? 2009 F150 5.4L new motor after 69000Km

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: Vacuum Falling Off To The Hubs When Driving And Light Throttle

Having issues with the vacuum falling off to the hubs when driving and light throttle. I know makes no sense,but kept fighting this thing making vary harsh rubbing sound since I bought it used and I know its the little collar on the back side of hub that engages to hub to make the 4x4 connection but it looses vacuum when driving and very light throttle/load.

I verified using a vacuum gauge ran inside vehicle when driving. Checked all lines and hubs,everything good. Solenoid has vacuum when running but seems to quit when light load or throttle and as soon as vacuum falls off then the collar starts to engage and rubs but doesn't fully engage. I don't get it. Unless there's something on the computer side of it shutting off the solenoid or something.

I drive a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT and recently had a new heater core installed, but now when I try to drive it, it cuts off on me once I get out of the driveway. It starts back up fine, but then cuts again seconds after I try to drive. When I start the car it idles fine. I could have it idling for 10 minutes plus and have no issues, but once I shift it into gear and begin to back out of the drive way it shuts down again.

My truck starts and runs fine cold. after 10 minutes or so of driving, it starts choking and stalls. If you try to start it, it will not. If you wait about 3 minutes, it is fine, starts , and drives ok, for about 3 minutes. I have replaced, plugs, fuel filter, battery, and a ignition module, as well as cleaned the opening of the throttle body

Ford has ordered a fuel pump, I am thinking it could be the

-Throttle position Sensor?
-MAF sensor?
-fuel pump?

It puts out code p0191 for low fuel pressure. Ford is scheduled to install new pump in am, but I don't want to spend a grand if it is just the TPS or MAf?

Have a 2009 Ford F-150 with 5.4 ... Recently installed a cold air intake and now when I start it burns black smoke for maybe 15-60 seconds.

I have to rev the engine up by pushing on the gas or else it will stall.... after the 15-60 seconds the smoke turns clear and it idles with no problem and sounds normal.

This happens every time I don't use it for over 9 hours or so if I leave it for a couple hours it will start normal and idle normal....

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: One Beep Every 15 Seconds Seems To Be Coming From The Radio

My 2010 F150 Lariat Supercrew stated this beep yesterday. Every 15 seconds I get one beep. It seems to be coming from the radio, and the louder the radio is, the louder the beep. Even with the radio off, I can still hear it.

I've done lots of searches on this topic, but they all seem to be related to an airbag system issue, where there are 5 beeps in a row. Mine is just one short beep every 15 seconds. Can't find anything in the owners manual about this either.

Just noticed today that my trans temp always starts out from cold even after having driven it and it takes a little while to rise up to the temp I checked the other trans gauge same thing do I have a problem or does it really cool down that fast the truck sat for maybe 10 minutes.....
