My Driver side/Left side mirror started wiggling, and fell, hanging on by just the wires for the heating element. I snapped it back on twice now, and I noticed 2 small plastic clips broken.
It's a 2013, XLT, heated, drivers side mirror.
So yesterday When I unlocked via remote my drivers side mirror moved all the way to the right and started clicking. Like it was stripping the gears sound. Getting back in the truck the mirror moved fully every direction with switch on door. But the next time same thing, moved to the right and counted 3 clicks ! Happened 3 times yesterday.
I have a 68,000 miles on my 2009 s-crew lariat with most of the toys. Including memory seats. Some research pointed to drivers seat control module OR an orange with green stripe wire that may be broken at a splice off of the fuse box at location 3. However the wire thing I found was on a previous generation f150 and expedition, so I don't know if it applies.
I also noticed that when I went to program the mirror back to my setting by holding down the memory 1 button, it only beeped once. If memory serves me correct I thought when you hold desired memory button down for @5-10 seconds it should beep twice to set everything to that remote. So that's as far as I went.
It's been a while since my last post but I have a very strange issue with my 2010 f150's driver side mirror ... it is a heated and autodimming mirror incase that matters but the mirror looks like its foggy or blurry ... it has progressively gotten worse. Now the fogginess has covered the entire thing.
Its not anything on the surface of the mirror as I've tried to clean it off but it appears to be behind the surface of the mirror ... I was worried that maybe something had happened to the heating element and it messed up my mirrors or something. What it could be?
Had a slight boo boo today with my truck backing out of a garage - snagged the right side (passenger side) mirror on the g-door rail and snapped the ball and socket of the mirror.
Tried to search the net for a replacement mirror and not having much luck. In locating one. I found one site but they do not carry the painted version of the mirror just the mat-plastic finish.
2009 - F150 - Lariat - Stone Green color....
Yesterday, I was driving my IS250 at over 100mph on I-5 North and from time to time, I heard some hitting maybe from rocks? on my left side mirror. If it was just once, I would of thought it would be a rock but kept making that sound. When I got off the freeway I checked to see if it was any rock chips but I couldn't find chips or dings.
View 5 RepliesMy driver's side mirror started having problems adjusting. I first noticed when the mirror tries to reset from auto tilting when in reverse. It was go to a certain point and start clicking as if something was blocking it from resetting.
If you push it with your hand it makes a terrible sound but then it can be adjusted without issue. It sounds terrible and I don't want to make things worse so I disabled the auto-tilt function.
I guess I put some scratches in the drivers (left) side door mirror. My micro fiber towel must have had some forein material in it. if I can order and just replace the mirror part? or do I have to order the complete assembly? It's a 2014 Avalon XLE with the heated mirror option. At certain agles I see swearl scratches right in the middle of the mirror.

View 3 RepliesI have an issue with my new 2011 F150 FX4 super crew with 5.0. I put a Rough Country level kit on the front struts which raised it 2.5 inches and looks great. The issue is that there is a low speed knock heard on the left side and felt through to the steering wheel. The truck has been aligned to factory specs. all bolts have been tightened, the strut has been taken off to check the top mounting bolts. Nothing appears to loose. Can't find anything. Am I forgetting something. Rough Country said it can't be the kit. It has bee used for sometime with no issues.

Only 20k on the clock (I don't put nearly the miles on this one like the 6.0) and I have a/c vents on the driver side spitting out hot air, while the vents on the passenger side spitting out cold (which is the way it should be as I have it set on 60).
Of course, out of all the issues that could have crept up, that one is relatively mild. Other then that, still enjoying the 150 immensely. Just wish it was a diesel, can't have it all, although certainly can wish/try.
I noticed my drivers fog light was out last week, okay no big deal, replaced both and saved the good passenger side one for a spare.
This morning while driving to work (0330), I noticed my drivers side fog light blinking. Its not a steady blink, more of a bad connection or ground situation. Drive for a while....all is well...hit a bump and it goes off for a few seconds and comes back on.
I haven't had a chance to look at it and probably won't until I get off of work next week. I've confirmed that the passenger side doesn't do this. I'm not going to use them until I get it figured out. My question is if there is any known "go to" or trouble spots for them doing this? Truck is a 14 Supercrew without LED or HIDs.
We have a new to us 2010 F150 Lariat with only 20K Miles on it. The seat heater module on drivers side went out and the back slider window leaks water bad when we take it through the car wash. Is this possible? We were told nothing of this when we purchased it from this same Ford dealer.

No matter what temp I set I'm only getting cold air out of the drivers side IP & floor vents as well as the two rear facing vents in the top of the center console. Since I'm out of warranty I'm wondering if there's anything I can check or fix on my own without taking it into the dealer.

View 3 RepliesFirst off I have a 2009 F150 4wd 4.6L truck...we have noticed a grinding noise on the front driver side wheel...we have replaced the auto locking hub acuator and the hub assembly but the noise is still there....it has us puzzled now not sure what it could be. I have read many different threads on this issue an it seems that it might be something to do with the vacuum. The noise is only on the driver side and only in 2wd, when its in 4wd it doesn't make the noise at all. Also while in 2wd the noise seems to go away when we let off the gas.
View 5 RepliesSo, I'm still getting used to this 2012 F150 and have been experiencing issues with the driver's side speaker fading out for 5-10 seconds and then fading back in. I was getting worried that the radio was defective or something. Well, it is actually working as DESIGNED. Not that I like the design!
Okay, what is happening is that the NAV system periodically has something to say. Most frequently the message is "GPS Signal Lost". It appears that when the NAV system speaks it fades out the radio on the driver's side only, plays the message, and then fades the radio back in.
The volume on the NAV system app was turned ALL THE WAY DOWN so it was going through the motions of delivering a message, but no message was delivered since the volume was set at zero.
i just need to make it stop saying "You are over the speed limit!" all the time... Also, how to make it stop turning down the volume on my cell phone conversations when I put the truck in reverse? I back out of a parking space and have to ask the person I'm speaking to if they are still there???
My left side mirror, motor will move left and right but it will not move up and down. Is there a DIY way to fix this? Is it a motor problem? Can I buy the part and fix it?

4x4, 3.55 e-locker, 5.0l. It is one nice ride but it already has a blown speaker rear drivers side which is frustrating, I see this is a common issue with these trucks. Just hope it is not a recurring thing. But still a great truck.
The driver side door of my 2009 f150 won't lock, not with the remote nor with the button inside the truck,also not when the truck goes over 20 km/h, however the driver side door works perfectly fine....
View 7 Replies2011 F150 Screw FX4 drivers seat squeaks. Its in the bottom. It happens when you go over bumps. It doesn't do it all the time, but you can sometimes make it stop by moving the seat forward or back.
View 3 RepliesI have a problem with my Lariat blowing cold air on the driver's side. It happened last weekend when it was snowing hard and drove around town for a couple hours with defrost on. After I got out on the interstate the cold air was blowing in through the vent on the driver's door and down by my feet. It was -4 driving home. I though that some ice may have gotten in and jammed a damper open allowing cold air in. I took the truck in and thawed it out and the same thing happens. Cold air out of drivers side and hot air out of the passengers side. The truck has the dual heat/cool setup and it seems as if the driver's side is stuck on cold but I have it set on just driver. It was only -25 this morning.
