I have a 2014 ecoboost F150 xlt. Yesterday while driving the dash display just blinked off then back on. Truck continued working normally while the screen was off. Only happened once but it was fairly worrisome as it was at the start of our 5 hour return drive.
View 2 RepliesJust hit 70,000 miles and went out of warranty. The issue is the Heads Up Display periodically shows "Check Back Up Sensor". When this occurs the sensors do not detect, and this doesn't happen all the time. I did clean the lens on each of them.

Current Fixes I've completed
Sprayed electrical cleaner in all 4 door latch assemblies (didn't work)
Relubricated all 4 door latch assemblies with food grade lithium grease (didn't work)
Replaced passenger door full latch assembly (didn't work)
What is my next step? I have noticed that if I wedge the door lock button on the driver's side door into the lock position, the door ajar message turns off and stays off? I was thinking wiring or relay issues?
My 2006 Prius wouldn't start yesterday. The dash lights blinked on & off and the fob was locked in the dash. About 5 mins. later it came out. I was able to jump start the car with no prob. I drove to the dlr. & they checked the bat. & charging system. They found no problems, but said I might want to R & R the bat. as it's 5 yrs. I want to stick with the stock bat. Aalso stated that the bat. was fully charged & when I went home I plugged in my battery tender. The car was wired for the tender already although I haven't had the need to use it until now.
View 6 RepliesHaving issue with the outside temperature display being way off. It doesn't do it all the time, but does seem to happen if I've been plowing or something. I think I've had it happen in the summertime also, but can't remember the circumstances. Basically it must be happening because I'm not moving much air. Where the sensor is located, and could there be something that may be blocking the air flow? I know this is a piddlely little problem, but if it's easily remedied, I'd would really like an accurate reading.

View 6 RepliesThe gear display on the right of my screen has disappeared. The display when in "M" works normally. and the transmission seems to work normally. I haven't done a thing to it except drive it. I'll be going in for an oil change in a few weeks but I'd like some input from the group about this.
View 3 RepliesI bought a used 2011 ford f150 crew cab lariat. I love it!! 5.0 liter, towing package. I notice that when I turn on the headlights, there is no indication on the display that they are on ! When I put it on high beam, I see the blue light icon on the display.
2. Another question, it has the headed mirror option, but I can't find any control that turns this on. Is this automatically controlled??
3. One more. It doesn't have daylight running lights and when I leave the headlights on and exit the vehicle, the headlight stay on! There is an auto delay digital switch on the display but I think that only applies to how long the headlight stay on when exiting the vehicle and the light switch is on auto. I am confused about the light setting on the truck.
The truck only has 24k on it so is still under bumper to bumper warranty.
I would get "Tire Pressure Sensor Fault" on my display all the time. The problem occurred mostly on long trips, however, it would occur from time to time on shorter trips. I complained to the dealer about this every time I went in for an oil change. They could never find a problem and wanted me to bring it in when the fault was occurring. Of course these thing never happen when you're by a dealer. To my dealers credit they said they would fix the problem out of warranty if we can find it.
Well I found the problem. As strange as it sounds if I use the cigarette lighter with a power USB adapter to charge my phone or iPad I get the fault. If I use the 12V accessory port on the dash no fault.
Last weekend we drove to Nisswa MN & back (about 1,200 miles). To test the theory I only used the 12V accessory port and no fault occurred. Normally the fault would occur w/in 50 miles then just continue on being annoying the whole rest of the trip. I wish I would have found this out 57,000 miles ago. I use the adapter because the USB port on the dash will only charge my iPhone if the phone is off.
I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a start button and key fob and all the new electronic controls. While driving recently, the dash electronic console display turned off (I thought the car engine had died). It spontaneously lit up again, but all the warning and check engine lights were on. The car would only move forward very slowly (as if stuck in 1st gear). When I was able to pull over safely to the side of the road out of traffic, I was unable to get the car out of drive into park. Because it wasn't in park, I could not turn off the engine! I was afraid to take my foot off the break, fearing it would begin moving, so I couldn't get out to disconnect the battery. Is there any way in these new technology cars to force the engine to shut down in the event the electrical system is malfunctioning?
View 9 RepliesI have a 2012 ecoboost, recently I went to the trip gauge mode and the display screen for trip A had a yellow rectangle imposed over the time,mpg ect.and would not function correctly. When I switch to trip B info, all info operated correctly and no yellow rectangle in trip B mode. Trip A mode continues be inoperable and still has the yellow rectangle even after the engine was shut off several times during the day.
View 3 RepliesMy 2010 f150 with non sync non sony radio w sat cd. Its been losing power this past year. It would just cut out than come back on. The settings would be reset, but not lose station presets. The other day it got stuck on the f150 logo on the display. No radio or other function would work. Pushed power button and nothing. Started an hour later it worked normally. I do have aftermarket amps, but their direct to battery.
View 4 RepliesI purchased a new '09 f150 in '09. the truck has been fine except the dash light problem which ford has declined to correct. In low light i have no dash lights. it must be completely dark for the lights to work.
Last fall I drove a windy 2 lane secondary road at dusk without dash lights. I could not read the gauges. I did not know how fast i was traveling. This road has several tight corners.
The truck is powerful, accelerates quickly and weighs about 6,000 lbs. this is a very dangerous situation!! I have been to the dealership several times and phoned the ford customer service but to no avail!! Fords response is 'they're all like this'!!!!!!!!!!!??
Ok so my dash indicator disappeared. Did some searching and found out I can bring it back with the "+/-" on the shifter. Now my question is if certain gears are not indicated on the dash does that mean they are supposedly all locked out somehow even though I shift through all 6 still? And with the gears not being indicated on the dash is there a negative effect over a period of time driving?... or did I just get super paranoid over it
View 6 RepliesI have a 2010 Ford Raptor and lately I have been hearing some rattles coming from the back seat. I am about 99% sure it's from the rear window... Not positive, but when I listen for the sound that's where it comes from. It's very faint on normal road and rattles after every bump or pothole I hit. I am still under warranty but I don't want to take it to ford unless I have to. I have spent hours on end looking for solutions online but I can't find anything that's my exact problem.
View 4 RepliesI recently bought a 09 F150 Screw short box. I just hooked it up to my camper for the first time and was measuring height on the corners of the truck to check my WD hitch. I noticed that the driver's side was higher than the passenger's side in the back of my truck. I checked again without the camper on some level ground and found the same thing - approximately 1 1/4" difference at the wheel wells and about 3/4" at the frame. I can't believe that this would be normal, so trying to figure out what happened here - maybe it got rear-ended?

View 9 RepliesDash lights that stay on? I know of 2 trucks that dash lights stay on all the time. Dome lights are not on so it should be the doors causing it.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2013 5.0 and every time I change the oil filter the oil runs out the front and back of the cross member. That welded on oil catch plate doesn't work. The suspension is stock and I'm wondering if I lift the rear of the truck with a floor jack will it get the oil from the filter all run out the front of that catch plate?
View 9 RepliesAfter a few people telling me that the truck is leaning on the back corner, I checked it today, will check again tomorrow in the street or another parking lot, but here is what I measured at all 4 wheels. The below measurements are all from floor to top of wheel well
These maybe the street causing the difference.
Front Pass = 35 1/4"
Front Driver = 35 1/2"
These are way off, so seems something has happened in this back corner.
Back Pass = 37"
Back Driver = 37 3/4"
Because of the 3/4" difference, what are some things to inspect to see if something is damage to cause such a big difference? Could the shocks be bad already? its a 2011 XLT SCrew with around 76k miles.
To start out with, Leaky rear window.
It is definitely a leak around my back window, passenger corner. I have personally watched water run in and not run out the back, but in my cab. My Issue is that I cannot find any info as to how to lower my back seats to access the screws required to remove the window.
My truck is a 2011 XLT Supercrew/Cab, whichever is 2 door. Full backrest and 60/40 seat split. below is a picture of my seat and behind the headrests where people say to dig around for a "pin" to pull up and then lower the seat, but it appears I don't have that option.
