I have a 2011 Fx4 super crew and my advance trac warning light comes on and off periodically while driving, I have taken my truck to the dealership about 6 times to have the problem fixed. For some reason they can't fix it, I have tried everything I can to get it fixed but still having the issue.
View 5 RepliesMy 2005 Lincoln LS V8 has 126,000 miles on it. The advance trac light (the little car with the skid marks trailing it) has been on and off intermittently for the past 15,000 miles.
Today, the light began flashing constantly after my mechanic plugged the code machine into the car to diagnose the Check Advance Trac message. From this, I know that I need a $900 sensor or module for the permanent repair. The "Check Advance Trac" message still is intermittent, but the little car is flashing now constantly.
Is there a way to have the light stop flashing and return to being on intermittently or on solidly all the time-without replacing the unit? Did the mechanic do something or not reset something correctly?
Also, can a used unit be used to replace mine? My goal is to get another 14 months and 30,000 miles out of my car so I can replace it with a CPO 2013 MKZ.
I own a 2005 Lincoln LS V8 with 111,000 miles on it.
Recently the Advance Trac-traction control light will come on for no reason. When I push the console button-to disengage the Advance trac-nothing happens.
However, if I shut the car off, and restart it, the light goes out. Most often the light will stay out for a few days. Once in a while it will light up in a mile or so. Again, this is intermittent.
I did hear a big thunking sound from the rear end the other evening upon a hard acceleration. I do not know if this is related.
Both the loud thunk-almost like someone has hit the back of the car- and the advance trac light have occurred before; never together though. What may be causing the advance trac light to act this way? And what the thunk is from? !!
My F250 is displaying error messages for the hill descent/advance trac yet again. My truck was in the shop over 7 times about 6 months ago when my instrument cluster would go crazy. Every warning possible on the display, and once you killed the engine it wouldn't start until the dealer cleared the codes...once they flew in an engineer he fixed it within a couple hour timeframe, and I thought that nightmare was over.
View 2 RepliesJust hit 70,000 miles and went out of warranty. The issue is the Heads Up Display periodically shows "Check Back Up Sensor". When this occurs the sensors do not detect, and this doesn't happen all the time. I did clean the lens on each of them.

I have a 2011 F-150 Supercab 4x4 and the brake warning system is starting to drive me nuts. A couple of months ago the warning light came on along with a message to check brake system. I didn't find anything wrong, even flushed the hydraulic system. all seemed OK. Now the warning came back on, the message center will reset and the warning light will reset after shutting off the truck.
I can drive in city/town and the warning does not come on. But if I drive open road for about 30 miles with out using the brakes I get the warning again. I'll reset the message center and it'll clear, then about every 10 miles it chimes and shows to check brake system. It is strange that that I can drive hundred of miles in town using the brakes and not warning but get on the open road and not using the brakes I get the warning after 30 miles.
I have a 2011 F150 supercrew 4x4 5.0, it has almost 8k miles. I have looked around online to see if this is a common issue but haven't found anything really. The airbag warning light in the instrument cluster will come on and stay on randomly. Some days it only lights up when I start the truck, other days it will turn on and stay on until I restart the truck. I think I have a glitch or a malfunction in a switch somewhere with the Airbag system. I will be calling the dealership about it after we finish the Easter Weekend.

For the past 2 weeks I've had this light thump about 1 or 2 seconds after the truck starts driving,not really annoying but it kinda got me wondering
Since last week it makes a weird scraping noise from the rear end when coming to a stop (10-0 kmh) it doesn't do it all the time though
For a couple days now it makes this terrible squeaking/scratching/whatever(very loud) noise from the rear end when i accelerate from a dead stop, the one time when i crossed a highway, last night when i backed out of a parking spot (again not all the time).
Also when driving through a parking lot,hitting a few bumps and dips I can hear a rattling noise coming from underneath the truck.
Transfer case due for replacement? I don't know what this could be.....
Having issues with the vacuum falling off to the hubs when driving and light throttle. I know makes no sense,but kept fighting this thing making vary harsh rubbing sound since I bought it used and I know its the little collar on the back side of hub that engages to hub to make the 4x4 connection but it looses vacuum when driving and very light throttle/load.
I verified using a vacuum gauge ran inside vehicle when driving. Checked all lines and hubs,everything good. Solenoid has vacuum when running but seems to quit when light load or throttle and as soon as vacuum falls off then the collar starts to engage and rubs but doesn't fully engage. I don't get it. Unless there's something on the computer side of it shutting off the solenoid or something.
Got in the car today, first cold day of the year , minus 8C. Start the car and the engine light comes on. Trac locks off too. I went straight to the dealer , they took it in right away. After about a half hour the technician comes up to tell me that the mass airflow sensor is no good. He has ordered a new one. Apparently the new version has a different part number which indicates that it may have been problematic. He cleared the light and it stayed off all day. Part should be here in a couple of days.

View 4 RepliesI was driving on the freeway and the trac and engine lights came on.. Noticed that I am no longer getting the Eco light when coasting. Ran the codes and it's P0157 and C1201. I have recently changed tires, not sure what other reason can cause the lights.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2010 Corolla. The car is flashing the infamous VSC Off, trac, engine light! The car is still has the powertrain warranty. I was wondering if I should take it to a Toyota dealership.
But I read just getting the diagnostic itself is around $100. I don't want to end up paying for that if the repairs end up being something that's not even covered under the warranty.
My f150 out of the blue says "driver door ajar" when I was on the highway today. The interior lights also came on. I opened the door several times, even slammed it. But still the warning will not go away. When I shut it off and get out, the chime and lights stay on until the accessories time out after 15 minutes. What do I do to fix this? Will be hard to drive at night with the interior lights on.

Took truck to dealer, they confirmed and said not covered by warranty. Talked to ford, they back up dealers decision. They want a whole bunch of money to replace alternator and clean under the hood. What good is a 4x4 if it fails driving to work on an open highway?

I don't have a reason to believe that the battery is bad as I just bought the truck from a dealer last Thursday. Searches come up it is a known glitch in the safety feature that cannot be disabled and is happening with good batteries.
View 14 RepliesMy 2012 F-150 has the back up camera, and the warning system that beeps with increasing frequency when you're backing into something.
It's worked flawlessly, however the last few times I've started and put it in reverse, it starts beeping constantly although there is absolutely nothing back there. Having been on this forum for probably 3 years, I don't recall this system ever being discussed.
So, where is the sensor located? I looked all around the obvious places, like under the rear bumper, and don't see anything. Is it part of the camera
system?
Secondly, what could make it beep when there is nothing there? Yes, the tailgate is up, and there is nothing in the hitch that might trick it. I'm thinking
dirt on a senor.
